Danielle, the owner, was extremely helpful and kind. I placed an order for some scones and was a little confused on the pricing and ordering process. She immediately apologized for the confusion and said they could provide the original order, even when it contradicted their policies. She was patient and answered all of my questions. Excellent customer service, and great ice cream too!

My favorite place to go for breakfast burritos. The coffee is amazing, especially the iced mocha. They have all different Michigan beers and wine. Bottomless Mimosas with breakfast. I would recommend this place to anyone.

We decided to go to brunch. Since I was testing myself to find out if I could go meatless for a week than this was a good spot. This place sits in Depot Town and I am really shocked that I never recognized this place as I have been to a few locations down here. Ordering is different. I noticed a sign that stated how to order. You order first, take a number than they bring the food. I decided on the meatless meatball sandwich and she got the Veggie sandwich. We also got a coffee and a Saki tea. Vegan is expensive! $ 45 for what we got. The Meatball sandwich was good but not the same to a meant eater. However, the sandwich being meatless was not too bad. Next time I go I will try something else.

Low key I like this place, less for the coffee, more for the ice cream, specialty drinks, which are definitely fun, and food. I had an egg and tortilla chip breakfast, and a different time the corned beef and cream cheese. Both had that little twist that makes for good, comforting food. Both tasted fresh, freshly made, and the mix of ingredients actually worked. Sometimes places try too hard and mix together anything that sounds cool or funky. This place generally hits with their flavors!

$ 8 for a relatively small sandwich with just corned beef, cream cheese, and mustard. No veggies or anything like that. I like this place, especially their hard milkshakes, but I probably won’t get another sammy there.

I pretty much just went to check out their, supposedly, state famous Mac and Cheese. I was a little underwhelmed. It was good, but best or second best in the State. I don’t think so. We didn’t have trouble with the service the way some of the other commentators did. The place is funky and cool. The back deck would seem to be a fine hangout come summer. I probably won’t be back until then.

After seeing it mentioned in the mlive article about the best mac & cheese in the state, I was excited to give this place a try. We were attending an event at EMU last Friday and thought it might be a good place to get a quick dinner. If my review were based only upon the food, I’d give it 4 or 5 stars. We had the nachos mac & cheese, a BLT and a dark chocolate porter adult milk shake. It was good. A little pricey, but really good. The problem is with the service and staff. When we walked in, we saw the only front person behind the counter. There was another couple ordering, so it made it difficult to find the menus stored on the counter near the register. I’d suggest moving them to a more accessible spot. We put in our order around 6:40. No one else came in after us and we sat within eyeshot of the counter. At 6:55, I had to ask about the milkshake. She admitted she’d forgotten about it and made it immediately. Again, it was delicious. At 7:05, she came back to our table to tell us she’d neglected to put in our food order and offered a refund. We explained we were pressed for time and to please just see what she could do. I think our dinner came out at 7:15ish. Sadly, I don’t know that we’ll be back. The attitude of the staff was such a turn off. I could understand if she had been busy, but they weren’t.

This place is great and has everything and more. Their food selection is pretty big and offers a ton of vegetarian and vegan options. Lots of great coffee and tea drinks, as well as a selection of alcoholic drinks. It never feels likes it’s too busy which is the kind of atmosphere I like to be in. I’ve had their egg sandwich on an asiago bagel(sooo good), one of their many mac and cheese options, and their ypsi hash which they serve as part of a brunch menu on the weekends. Everything was great. If you’re looking for a place with good food, good coffee, and more importantly, good service, then head to Ollie. In comparison to beezys(which is totally overrated in my opinion) this place totally surpasses.

I’ve been here a few times(more than my checkin amount). It used to be a bit bigger and a little different in the past. There were some changes over the last few years. The food here is ‘ok’ I personally feel that you get a small portion for the money and I’m not a big fan of ‘ruffled chips’ on the side with a sandwich, its just not my thing. But overall the food is good and they have a good selection of caffeinated beverages and shakes.

I freaquent Café Ollie Being a depot town resident and thought after my last few visits I should share my experience in hopes it doesn’t turn some of the more sensitive patrons off. It really is not set up or run a restaurant in the classic meaning of such. Great service upon dining in and esspecially carry outs I know now is not to be expected. The counter service is almost always extemely slow but more over not at all welcoming. Only a few times have I not felt like a total nuisance which to me is really whatever; give me my ice cream and I’ll be on my way. I am not suprised to see however and often hear The common consensus from other locals and visitors alike that this holds true. after tonight’s brief visit I decided I might share(which I seriously never do and rather despise those who only complain or. know it all on here having run into such so often in the indistry) to The point of discouraging people from abstaining from The great food because of service alone. Basically my friend and I walked in a half hour before they close and we jokingly but truely caring asked the employee taking orders at The register if she or they would want to kill us of we ordered food. She suprisingly seriously said«well uh yea kinda». Without missing a beat we politely said ok and laughed or business down the road. Being in the business I understand the dread of clueless of carelss people waltzing in right before. close and expecting primetime service. This however is never an excuse not to give it let alone so blatantly advertise it. Atleast we showed that we cared and didn’t want to be a total pain in the neck, maybe we shouldn’t have asked but generally these are the customers I know actually care and are great patrons to attract back in. If anything This presents a perfect opportunity to go above and beyond letting us know that of course not and we would love to cook whatever we can for you or If that is to painful, seeing that we actually cared, you could let us know the items that really would set you back an hour or be a total nusciance as we would clearly be willing to make your job easier. Worst of all the line was already pretty long so our order itself wouldn’t have kept anyone anytime we were just being polite and the sour faced response we got was really more of a suprise than anything. This is not a reflection of The place as a whole though as I have stated I would not expect wonderful service with a smile. Having said that: The whole atmosphere is awesome. Big emphasis on local and Michigan crafted food and spirit as well as unique merchandise. it’s very par for the Hipster beer snob depot town feel(not knocking… it just is what it is). The menu is great, including breakfast. There really is a wide variety of good food here ranging from kid friendly, vegan friendly, drinkers and also good ol fatty pants over indulgences(my preference over all). What makes Ollie a frequent stop of mine is the Guernseys ice cream even though it seems they have a hard time keeping a good or consistent selection. The food and wide range of selections in all areas of beer, dessert and even art to name a few is plenty to keep me coming despite the service. It favor for management to either hire experienced and friendly staff or train the current one on atleast trying not to be pretentious frowning workers who show their dread at the sign of another customers order.

One of the WORST restaurants we have ever visited. Unilocal sure let us down this time. :-( We got there on a Sunday morning and there was only 1 other table occupied. We ordered our food and then we waited. And waited. And waited. My husband got the Ollie scramble with tofu, requested the potatoes be extra crispy and a side of vegan sausage. I ordered biscuits and gravy. We got our meals and the potatoes are barely cooked and he got regular sausage. They brought him vegan sausage but it tasted horrible. My biscuits were doughy and the gravy was not tasty. We each took a couple bites of our food and left. A complete waste of $ 26.00.

I ordered takeout from here and it was amazing! It is in a cool area of Ypsilanti and has a very unique feel to it. I wish I ordered dine in but I’m hoping to go again. The Ruben Sandwich was perfect size and was good. The service was friendly as well.

Ok firs, adult milk shakes… if that does not get you, there is still plenty to Café Ollie. The décor is whimsical but not pretentious. The food is defiantly good value for money. Not to mention the service is first rate. I was pretty sure I notices a vegan column of sandwiches too. And even if you eat meat, like I do, you might decide not to. The vegetarian sandwich just as good as anything with meat on it.

Went in super excited after reading Unilocal but not one dessert in the place was vegan. I was told they sometimes have lemon sorbet but not recently… Update: went back by and they have strawberry sorbet a month later
