My Gym Children’s Fitness Center Yorktown Heights

I joined My Gym upon the referral of 2 good friends. LOVE IT! My son is LOVING all the amazing equipment and I adore the attention and love of the coaches here. Anthony and Manny are tops. As a former teacher, I absolutely appreciate their genuine care for children. They celebrate the all childrens’ achievements and are so encouraging. I highly recommend for kiddos of all ages.

Excellent facility and caring staff! My Gym offers classes for all ages through out the week. Top quality birthday parties, gym classes, and special events. You can even try your first class for free ;)

My son won a free trial at My Gym and I was skeptical because I had been to birthday parties here in the past and they had been poorly run and the owner was obnoxious and rude to the women. HOWEVER I found My Gym to be under new ownership and my son absolutely loved it. The owner Mr. Anthony is nice and works very well with children. They have a lot of equipment but do not keep it all out due to safety reasons. The kids have activity stations and are equally grouped with teachers during each class. There is always time for free play which the kids love and I’ve seen them manage behavior appropriately as well. After the trial session I signed my son up and he has enjoyed it for the past few months. Now my daughter is going to join him and the sibling discount is awesome too! Definitely not the old My Gym!!! Worth the revisit!

The reason why I enrolled my little guy in My gym was to get him exposed to new situations and to help improve his interactions with new kids. So far, I have not been disappointed! Mr Anthony and his staff are always coming up with new games and activities to keep the kids engaged and having fun. Highly recommend, especially if your child is on the shy side!

After ownership change it’s an amazing gym for my 2 year old son. He loves going and enjoys all the new weekly programs they have. Every week we go the gym is transformed and layout changes. It’s fun for both parents and children. I highly recommend trying it out. I travel over 45 mins away just to bring my son here and have recommend friends who do the same.

AVOID!!!
I booked a party for my two year old twins almost 3 months prior to the date. When I told my husband how much it was going to cost he had a stroke so we tried to cancel but the owner said that my $ 100 was non-​refundable. What a joke. It would’ve been nice had he told me that when he was taking my money. So what do you get for $ 400? You get use of the facilities for 1 ½ hours. They had one snide girl and one nice girl running the party. The snide girl had absolutely zero concept of what was age appropriate — she was giving long-​winded instructions to a group of children who were aged 3 and under. She was then getting annoyed because they weren’t following her instructions. My sister caught her talking negatively to the other girl about the parents and the children.
The place provides nothing for your party other than cheap plates, napkins, forks and juice pouches. Newsflash… not all parents give their toddlers sugar bombs to drink. He would not make any substitutions. You are responsible to supply food, water, decorations and cake. Chris had the audacity to not confirm the party until THE MORNING OF THE PARTY!!! Thanks for keeping the stress off of me (did I mention the party cost $ 400???). My husband began calling him the Wednesday prior to the Sunday. Ridiculous. The bathroom was filthy. The toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in quite sometime — nasty.
Bottom line is if you want to overpay for minimal services then by all means, go here.

HORRIBLE Contractual Experience in Yorktown, NY Franchise!
My wife in May decided to enroll our son at «My Gym» in Yorktown, New York. My wife while speaking to the Franchise owner (Chris) mentioned that our son was going to have surgery in late July and that we ONLY needed 2 months (June & July) because he would’nt be able to participate for a while because of the healing time. My son had «testicular Surgery» so you can understand why he could only do 2 months. So, Chris accepted the June and July ONLY and my wife wrote on the contract she sign (June and July ONLY) and Chris accepted it saying «No problem, June and July only»! The Gym also never gave her a copy of the contract she sign.
Well, now we were double charged in August for $ 96 DOLLARS x 2 and now September another DOUBLE CHARGE!
My wife spoke to Chris and he’s telling her that she needs to come in a sign a cancellation document and needs to give 30 days notice, meanwhile he accepted the contract for June and July only which means my wife had already given him 60 days notice. Her calls to him were met with cheerful responses, like you need to come in to cancel, or meaning they hope you don’t have the time to come in so they can keep charging you. My wife wanted to show them the statement that they are double billing and ask for a fax number to send the proof and suprisingly they don’t have a fax machine. I believe now-​a-​days all 3 in 1 printers have fax built in the printer which is what I saw when I arrived there to discuss the situation with Chris and noticed the telephone line going into the all in one!
Friday I went there with my wife and we discussed the situation for 20 minutes and again with the cheerful «No problem» all your money will be refuned. I mentioned to him that on the contract it says «JUNE AND JULY ONLY» and he said your right and our money will be refunded. Now its Monday and my wife received a call from Chris saying that he will not be refunding $ 96 dollars because of some crap in the contract. I was planning on returning next summer for my son but after this run a round I really don’t think its good to do business with this company!
This morning I called HQ of My Gym in CA and spoke to a lady that hopefully will put me in contact with a supervisor or manager of these franchise owners.
This Yorktown, NY My Gym turned a great experience into a bad one. Think twice before giving them your hard earned money and I hope someone from the board of directors or someone in charge reads this post and maybe «Does the right thing». Last stop, Yorktown civil court! Next stop TWITTER and Unilocal!

Oh look… Kids are not allowed to ride tricycles down the slide. LAME.
