When you get to the place you wonder what am I in for and when you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff. Made to feel very welcome. Waitress took great care of us. Food was great, especially the steaks and had a decent selection of beer and wine. Didn’t rush us out once we were done. Would highly recommend them.

Came back to visit a place I used to go with my grandparents when they got off work. The beer selection has evolved and they even sell cold 6 packs to go. The food was alright, nothing to write home about. I had the twice baked potato, just fairly bland for what should be a flavor packed appetizer full of bacon, cheese, scallions and creamy potato. Service was alright although its a little strange when someone orders a beer that they immediately tell you the limit on the number of beers they are allowed to serve you. I ordered a mad elf… yes I know its and 11% beer, but before the waitress even poured me the glass she says, «I can only give you two of these!» okay… okay… pump the breaks, I only want one. What was communicated could have been done in a less abrasive manner.
Plenty of small tv’s around the place, you can watch sports or whatever show is on. I liked how friendly the patrons were, everyone was talking like old friends even though I only just walked in the place after a 14 year departure.

Must have gone in on a bad night. Have been going there for years… My wife ordered Chili in a breadbowl. The Chili came out in a bowl. We told the waitress the menu described it in a breadbowl… She takes it back. Ten minutes later she returns … The chili is cold… She takes it back again. Returns five minutes later… Microwaved until the breadbowl was rock hard… at this point, all we wanted was something to eat. Will try again… Will give them benefit of the doubt

Moved to this area a few months ago and have realized that we have one of York’s best places right around the corner.
They were a little understaffed on a Friday night but the waitress was appropriately apologetic and the food was hot and good.
Had a turkey burger which in my experience can be bland, but this one had a bourbon sauce and jalapeños. Delicious! Fries are great and there is usually an interesting beer or two on tap.

Friendly bartenders and a decent beer selection. The menu looks great, but I haven’t tried anything yet. Nice place to stop in a for a beer or two. They do have some televisions showing mostly O’s games.

I’ve not yet found any item I haven’t liked combined with friendly atmosphere comlimented by friendly staff highly recommended highly

NEW OWNERSHIP, great atmosphere, brighter, improved menu, crab cake really good Mexican lasagna is out of this world, just saying. Carrying Crystal Ball Brewery ales, give the Coconut stout a try it’s really good.

Awesome joint! What a quaint little place. Good food and great atmosphere. Cool to see all the regulars that frequent this establishment. Highly recommend!!!

I’ve never had a less-​than-​stellar meal at the Sherwood, thanks to Sue and Bob. The food is perfect in every way. The steaks are tender and tasty, the crab soup is rich and flavorful, the mussels taste good to folks who don’t even like mussels, the clams are cheap but the best around, and the sandwiches are filled with meat and the freshest vegies you could possibly get. The hired hands are friendly, boisterous, and fun – Cindy is the best. If it weren’t for the owner’s mean, overbearing wife, this place would be a 5-​star venue all the way. Everybody agrees… even her husband’s relatives. Bob, ditch the wife from the business and you’ll be the première place to dine in all of York County!

Great food, Great atmosphere, and Definitely some of the best specials around! Don’t expect anything fancy, but it is a bar you can bring the kids to on Tuesdays for delicious wings.
