Food was good, my friends fish was kinda undercooked. Piano man played horrible and the noise from his playing was bad. Too loud on the speakers. Had to scream my conversation to my friend. Asked the wait staff to turn it down and they never did. 160 dollars for what?

This place was very promising but the last two times I’ve been there food has not been very good, chef have to step it up a bit more! Staff needs to be more welcoming and less into themselves… The location is very pretty and accessible, it will be a shame if they go out of business for minimum things such as changing the chef and giving their staff and costumer class 101…

Come here at least once a month. Went yesterday for Mother’s Day and service was great. We had 4 plates from the pre-fix menu. Food was excellent as always. Love the plate presentation, keep it up

Was looking forward to eating at this place based on the other reviews. Came today for mother’s day turned out they had a Special mothers day menu, completely over priced and unappealing. Only vegetarian option was the Mediterranean salad and far from mediterranean… they opened a bag of mixed green salad added cherry tomatoes and cheese. not even any salad dressing. Rib eye steak was really dry. Service was terrible. Very disappointed!

We ordered from grub hub and came across this place. My wife got the fried pork chop with white rice and black beans. I got grilled salmon with steamed vegetables. We also add fried plantains with garlic. The pork chops were juicy and the salmon was meaty and cooked just right. I wish they would of added more veggies, wasn’t very filling but it was sure good. The garlic sauce for the plantains were amazing. The delivery guy was very polite and respectful(you can’t imagine how many unprofessional weirdos we get deliveries from)

Came in for a late night dinner after picking up my father in law from the airport and I knew he would love some real Spanish food. Our first impression the nice ambiance. Music playing people having a few drinks on a Thursday night. A man was playing music and singing. The volume was a little too high for us to speak amongst ourselves. Once the food came out though not a single word came out of our mouth. The food was delicious. I had the cheese mofongo and being of Dominican parents I know a good mofongo when I taste it. I was perfect. My husband had chicken. I tried a piece and it was delicious as well. His meal came with a glass of wine which was just was he needed. The owner of the place I believe his name was Gino even came over to our table to make sure everything was okay. We were very pleased with our dinner experience at Dia y Noche. I will be stopping by to have the same meal again soon!

Nice latin spot big bar, good latin music, very spacious ordered the crab cakes as appetizers but they seemed overly breaded and the size of a quarter so it was a bit disappointing. I also ordered the«mofongo» and it was good. Ill come back to try other dishes… until next time Unilocalers!

I love Dominican food, I always crave Spanish food and for a while it has been my to go to spot except recently. My last experience with their staff was not very pleasant, they were sooo rude and gave me attitude! I guess they were having a rough day but come one don’t take it out on your clients. They were speaking in Spanish the whole time and proceeded to insult people under their breath. I Would give them more points because the food is good but their attitude stinks. Please stop hiring rude people who look like they don’t want to be there and stare down on you!

This place sucks, the manger sucks, the wait staff sucks. The food is disgusting and I hope they shut their doors really soon. This place is a joke! Mannions was so much better. «you speak a Spanish?» Give me a break good thing my fiancé knew Spanish or we’d gotten no service whatsoever. This place should be ashamed to even have its doors open.

Food is nothing special, service was good before but nowadays is like in a club with waitres wearing mini skirt, also I catched one them by tuching her pimples when serving. Cocktails are horrible and the worst of all is the terrible Dominican old fashioned music. Definitely, I will never go back. Definitivamente yo nunca volvere.

The delivery was prompt. I ordered the pepper steak Friday special. I was happily surprised that it was more than steak, onions, and bell peppers. In addition to a side of rice and beans, there was also broccoli, squash, carrots, and cauliflower. The steak was a little salty, but I will definitely order again!

Ordered for delivery for two. I live 3 minutes driving from this place and finally decided to give it a try, despite the average rating. Phone call: The order taker seemed courteous at first. Then, when I asked her what kind of meat is in their smokehouse sandwich, from thin-to-skirt steak, she said in a snooty tone«thin sandwich-type steak» because they would«obviously not use skirt steak for a sandwich». Tell that to many well-regarded establishments in Manhattan and elsewhere. She also refused to substitute French fries for yuca(cassava) fries because they«don’t do substitutions on sandwich type plates». You would think they would just charge extra and make the customer happy. I gave up trying to ask and instead ordered the yuca fries separately at my added cost. Big no-nos from the start. Wait: I waited an hour and 20 minutes for one chicken sandwich, one steak sandwich, yuca fries and onion rings. For a place that is 3 minutes away driving. When I called to ask where the driver was, the order taker said she didn’t know, that he had left half an hour before I called, and rushed me off the phone. That was a bit concerning. The driver called me and asked for directions to my house shortly afterward, to which I patiently and accurately responded until he arrived. Anyone with a GPS or smartphone and half a brain could have arrived in a timely manner. Food: The best part of the order was the onion rings. It appears that they were(a little TOO) beer-battered but at least I was able to finish it. The chicken sandwich didn’t come with avocado as advertised, and the chicken itself tasted old. The steak sandwich did not come with lettuce nor tomato again, as advertised. Just fatty cheap steak slathered in BBQ sauce in between bread. The yuca fries that I was forced to pay extra for were soggy and bland. Conclusion: I ended up paying $ 50 for sandwiches delivered 1:30:00 late, and threw most of everything away. Would not order again. Would not recommend. Stick to the Bronx or Manhattan for good Spanish food, as others have mentioned.

I was digging this place. I even let some minor things go because my family and I always ended up loving the food and the only time my husband and I ever dined in person, it went from a sour taste to a spectacular meal and experience. We ordered delivery this evening and in the past, have had a few misunderstandings with the people taking the orders. Most of the time it’s the staff not knowing what is on the menu. For example, I tried to order a dish called Caribbean Shrimp with Penne and my son’s Oxtail Stew so that I could pick the orders up on my way home. When I called, the female who answered said they didn’t make that shrimp dish. I told her that it was in their menu, online. She apologized and said they didn’t have it. I ordered Shrimp Linguine Alfredo instead and as previously mentioned, it turned out to he really good so I let the whole ordering debacle go. This particular night, hubby called up to order our food. My son went with the Smokehouse Sandwich, which he deemed as «ok», my husband got the Dominican Steak with yellow rice and a side of plantains and he attempted to order my Caribbean Shrimp again. This time, he was apparently making the order with the actual designer of the menu! Surely there would be no problem with my order! Yea… nope. Because of how the online menu is set up(pic shall be included), I asked him to opt for Alfredo sauce with the Caribbean Shrimp. The guy on the phone said there’s only the Caribbean sauce so, my husband told him to forget about the Alfredo sauce. Food arrives and my order is jacked up. It’s a container of shrimp in what I’m guessing is their caribbean rum sauce. Hubby’s and my son’s food orders were correct. Hubby wasn’t happy with his steak, though. It was tough and a very cheap cut of meat. I tried it and we could’ve gotten better food from a Latin chain restaurant. I was rightfully upset. I hate it when businesses screw up a take-out/deliver food order because you have to wait so long to get the food so, when it’s messed up, it can’t even be easily corrected. I decided to call and ask for a do-over. So, some chick answers and doesn’t understand what I’m saying(probably the same girl I called to make a phone order through, previously) so she passes me off to the gentleman claiming to be the menu creator! Funny, because he argued with me for over five minutes about how my husband saying to forget the Alfredo sauce equated to him saying forget whatever pasta is supposed to be in the dish and just send a container of shrimp. It got to the point where I had to stop him and ask how he was going to remedy the situation. He complained about how I wouldn’t let him speak so that he could offer me the pasta that was missing. No lie. This exchange went back and forth for far too long and I just kept saying, «if you’re going to take care of it, then take care of it and be done with this conversation». Why he kept justifying the whole misunderstanding was beyond me, especially considering the fact that a major item was missing from my entrée. Aftet hanging up with him and thinking about how long we spoke before he decided to defer to actual customer service, I decided it might be best not to eat that pasta that was on its way to my home. This may have been bitchy of me but once the guy came to drop off the pasta, I kindly asked that he bring it back to the guy I spoke to on the phone because I would not ever be eating anything from their establishment every again and I didn’t trust what they were giving me. If a patron receives anything other than what they expect from what’s written in your menu in black and white, it’s your opportunity, as a business owner, to correct their order and make sure you staff know what the hell they’re talking about as well as what’s posted on your online menus. The Caribbean Shrimp dish is listed under the«Pasta» section of their online menu and this is the actual description, copied and pasted: CARIBBEANSHRIMP $ 18.00 The special shrimp penne with rum. Served with your choice of sauce. Choose a Sauce: Alfredo Sauce /A la Vodka Sauce /Marinara Sauce Fix it!

Well, I have been meaning to try this restaurant. I had the calamari to start. I was a little disappointed. It seemed a little bit greasy. I’m not sure if it’s because I mainly cook with coconut oil. Once and awhile I use olive oil. Now I know grilled pork chops don’t go with this but I had them with yellow rice, red beans and sweet plantain. The pork chops had great flavor but cooked a little too much for my taste. I believe in getting it just right not cooking it a little too done to make sure it’s cooked. The yellow rice was good and the red beans taste great only the beans were pretty much missing. I took the left over home(I’ll add some beans to it in a day or two. The plantain was cooked quite nicely but who messes that up? There was no way I could eat all of that good at one setting so I took the rest home. The service was weird. No one was there except me. I got my order in and it came in good time but why did it take so long to get the check? I asked for containers at 6:50 got them right away and didn’t get the check until 7:12. Really??? I have a game to watch people! What are you doing giving service as if you’re busy in the hopes of becoming busy? All in all it was ok just not as good as I’d hoped. They’d better get it together or they’ll be going the way of so many others on that street.

This is a Latin gem right off of the Deegan or 87! Every time I go I try a new meal and am amazed at how good the food is. I have had seafood, chicken, and steak. The service staff is friendly & always looking to please. I have ordered off of the menu each time I go and there is never an issue about that. For example, my daughter likes pasta and I have ordered a white sauce pasta, it was delicious! I frequently order«tostones» which is also not on the menu. The drinks run about $ 10 which are more than fair in NY! This is a new fav of mine. It is a modern latin restaurant so don’t expect your run of the mill rice & beans. They have options people! And best of all the customer service is amazing. Live music on weekends.

So my boyfriend and I went to this restaurant for Valentine’s Day. We were a bit unhappy. I found this place because I pass it on my way to work every day and the exterior seemed interesting. We get to the restaurant and hear a live band WEWERESOOOEXCITED! The musicians were so amazing! The waitresses and waiters were so polite and kind. That’s as good as it gets. They had THREE appetizers two of which were shellfish choices and the other was tuna. That SUCKED because my boyfriend is allergic to shellfish so we didn’t have much of a choice. They also only had THREE desserts which all seemed nasty so we opted out of that and went elsewhere for dessert. The entrées weren’t anything to write home about, they had only 4 or 5 entrée choices. When the bill came it was almost $ 100 for two entrees, one appetizer and two juices RIDICULOUS! Needless to say, we won’t be going back to this place.
