Burkes Bar and Restaurant

Decent pub fare. We tried this place for Super Bowl. Ordered a couple of platters of wings for a small gathering. The food was decent that we’ve since ordered for a couple times. The fish and chips was pretty good.

Nice place to enjoy a good meal and a cold one. Staff was friendly and attentive. Place was a old fashion Irish Pub Restaurant. Will go again went with a friend of mine and we enjoyed ourselves.

Very friendly bartender this afternoon. Didn’t catch her name, but has a thick Irish accent and blonde hair. Made me feel welcome. =] They have an area for outdoor seating but I opted to sit at the bar. Very spacious, clean interior that is perfect for private events.

What a surprise Burkes is. An Irish bar in the heart of Yonkers/​bronxville serving delicious burgers, fries and corned beef.
Do they do weddings? Of course they do. And probably very good ones. But make your reservation early, years in advance to be safe.

Came here on a Friday around 7pm. Love the bar and how it’s arranged. We ordered food, made my own burger and had boneless wings. The burger was HUGE! Definitely worth it. Also the boneless wings, even bigger. They give you a lot of food for a serving, be prepared to share with the table! I gave this place 4 stars only because they didn’t have Moscow mule and margaritas.

My go-​to for UFC fights. Large space. Multiple large screens. Good beer. Affordable design your own burgers. Great brunch too!

WOW WHAT A STANDUP PLACE During the Verizon STRIKE of 2016 this place offered a free Hamburger and a Pint to any CWA member in strike. This really means a lot to me that you would be so kind. God Bless.

This place is awesome, I always come whenever I get a chance. The staff is friendly. I come with my kids and they love it here. Burkes Famous burger is delious.

Literally love this place. The food is amazing, the drinks are awesome and the staff is fantastic. This is no exaggeration. Kristen (manager?) is the sweetest, you feel like family when you come here. They are so accommodating. I come here all the time and have had a good experience every time.

No food just drink. Decent mix of sports or movies on the TV’s. Small place with locals or Sarah Lawrence students. For a few drinks and good music this is a real good time. Bartenders will chat, are nice and know how to make a cocktail (especially Joe, just try him!).

I am not one to write a bad review. I really enjoy trying new places and writing a GOOD review. Unfortunately I have absolutely nothing positive to say about my experience here.
We waited 15 minutes just for someone to greet us at our table. There were only 2 other occupied tables in the entire restaurant. Once we finally had the opportunity to order our food took 40 minutes! In an almost completely empty restaurant I don’t understand why it should take so incredibly long.
Once the food came it was more disappointment. No one checked on us. The food that was supposed to be hot was not and the food that should have been chilled was warm and soggy. Super unappetizing. Below is what we ordered to give you a better idea:
We started out with fried pickles for the table. They on their own took a half hour AFTER the waiter brought out nachos we didn’t order. It was clear that our server had put the wrong food in for us since there was essentially no one else there. They were unlike any fried pickles I’ve had before and I truly do not mean that in a good way. The pickles inside were clear and resembled onions more than pickles. There was hardly any flavor and the little flavor there was was not really what you’d expect from pickles.
I ordered a chicken quesadilla. There was ONE tiny piece of chicken on only one segment of the entire quesadilla. It was barely warm and the cheese had hardened.
My friend ordered a chicken Caesar wrap. The lettuce was warm and wilted. There was once again, hardly a shred of chicken in a primarily chicken dish and it just overall tasted awful. It was soggy and gross.
My other friend ordered the Italian chicken panini which, can you guess it? HAD NO CHICKEN. It also was supposed to have a pesto aioli which it didn’t. Once he asked for a side of it and waited another 10 minutes for the tiniest portion, it wasn’t even pesto aioli but something else tasting of detergent.
My boyfriend ordered a «special» steak Reuben. The steak looked gray and scary and was so dry and burnt to a crisp on the outside. The bread was all broken apart upon its arrival and looked like someone had smashed the sandwich with their fist before serving it to our table.
Overall, I would not ever recommend this establishment to anyone. I would rather eat a quarter pounder off the floor of McDonalds. The service was inattentive, lacking personality and any sense of urgency. The food in every single way was disappointing and left a lot to be desired.
We also weren’t carded for drinks and the toilets in the women’s room were literally filled with feces and other things you’d want to avoid seeing when dining in a restaurant.

Great comfort food, and the weekend brunch is a staple for me every weekend. A nice bar to hang out and relax. Nice weekend entertainment with bands almost every Saturday night. Highly recommend for private parties, come watch the games, or for the weekly specials!

Racist staff. Me and my friend sat ourselves, then told to move by a random staff member. No happy hour menu, no service whatsoever. No one talked to us, we just sat there looking around for 20 minutes before deciding to just leave.

Burkes is known for its $ 5 burgers and if you like fresh-​cooked beef they’re a great value. The setting is an historic structure with a double height open bar area with a surrounding balcony on one side and wood paneled seating on the other. We stopped in for a quiet late lunch (you can expect it to be packed at game time!) and service was friendly, if a bit slow. In addition to bargain burgers they have a good selection of domestic beers on tap. The house made fried zucchini was satisfactory if not distinguished, but the burgers are literally too big for their sesame seed buns to fully contain, and came with lettuce, tomato, pickle and onions your way at no extra charge (fries, cheese and such are additional). Park across from Burkes on Bronx River Road, but don’t count on finding a nearby spot when things get busy! There is an accessible facility.

This is one of my favorite places to eat and hang out with friends. All of my friends are local, so it’s super easy for us to meet there. The food is excellent, especially the Parmesan crusted chicken, and there is a great selection of beer and liquor. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and is great for watching a game or UFC fight. Burkes is our second home!

Prices are good. Food is okay.
The always have specials. It’s nice to take kids too because there’s this «Build your own» burger kids can do. Basically pick what you want on your burger with a special kids menu. I’ve even filler one out. Lol
I’ve also had the New England Clam Chowder and it was pretty good.
Sometimes the waitresses are slow even when it’s not busy.
Oh and they have free popcorn. =)

Terrible service and management! If I could put zero stars I would. It started when our waitress walked over to us, and unprofessionally said «what do you want?» She paid no attention to us all night. We were in a group of 7, and we had to flag her down when we needed something. When we got the bill, we were surprised that all the gratuity included on 3 tabs was about $ 57. We honestly didn’t think she deserved that much. When we spoke to the manager, he was very rude. We said, with that type of service, we might not want to come back there. He said «well, we wouldn’t want you back anyway!» This was my third time at Burke’s, but definitely my last!!!

Absolutely one of the Best Burgers I’ve had anywhere.
The burgers are huge, and delicious. I can’t stress how good the burger was. On top of that, they are $ 5. I have easily paid twice as much for a burger half the size that wasn’t half as good. Seriously, just order the burger… zero regrets will be had.
Burkes has a great selection of drafts, including local craft beer. There’s also a crazy Friday Happy Hour special begins at 4pm (this may be temporary) but they have open a random keg at 4pm and sell $ 1 beers from it until they run out. Thereafter, they have $ 1 sliders for one hour. Dollar Sliders Yo!
I love the inviting atmosphere here. Old world style pub with dark wood tables, décor, and a roaring fireplace that actually warms up the place when coming in from single digit weather this season.

Friendly barmaids and friendly patrons. Tons of flat screens to catch up on your favorite teams or local events. Cheap bar food and drink specials. Decent parking. Awesome bar food varieties at decent prices.
I love watching the games here. If it weren’t so far I would consider this place for an UYE. This is my go to spot in Yonkers, until I find better.
