My friends and I went to hear the live music on a Saturday night and ate dinner in the dining room first. The food and service were top notch, we all shared out entries and one was better than the next. The bar area was so much fun, everyone dancing and so friendly, the bartenders were great on point all night and the band Three Daze Til Sunday blew the room away with each song sounding better than the last. I can’t wait to go back.

A great place! We have had several family parties here and the food is consistently good. Nice atmosphere and convenient location.

Fogarty’s has lost many customers over the years. And there are reasons for that

I recently attended a gala 50 th reunion party for a local school. It was in a word a disaster. There were beer pitchers full of cheap wine and sugary sodas and warm water placed on a table with only wine glasses to drink from. The«heavy appetizers» consisted of third rate crudités and saltines and pigs in a blanket that were actually cut in half. The dips were watery and tasteless. The crowd would surround the table when a new«platter» would arrive. Alas, same platter as before. About three over three hours. I left after three glasses of warm water, two carrots and some saltines. This cost $ 75.00 and it was a cash bar. Never will go again to this establishment.

I came in tonight with a group of about 13⁄14 people as a quick cast party for a live show in Yonkers a few minutes away. They kept the kitchen open(I think someone called ahead and asked) I have other choice words, but I’ll just leave it with I’m really disappointed I will never go back there ever again because I had probably the best fish and chips that I’ve had in ten years anywhere else. We were all seated in the room behind the bar. If you go here, make sure the paranoid bartenders see that you are a paying customer(unless they were just lying sacks… then watch your back). I went to the bathroom once to wash my hands, and then about an hour later to actually use the facilities when all of the sudden the stall door was pushed in three times missing my face by about an inch while I’m trying to use some toilet paper and pull my pants up to figure out what drunken idiot isn’t patient enough to let me finish my business. Instead it’s the old Irish man and his beefed up lackey I’m going to refer to as Freckles McGhee. I ask WTF Freckle’s problem is and they both try to corner me near the sinks in the men’s bathroom accusing me of not buying a beer and that the bartender«watched me go into the bathroom five times» with a pair of balled up fists. After explaining twice who I’m with and then telling me otherwise, they finally believed me and after a couple half hearted sorrys, disappear. News flash guys, this is freaking Bronxville, not the Bronx. And I’ve never been humiliated by employees(Edit: Looking at the Facebook page, it was the OWNER and his son… real class act guys) of an establishment with my pants around my ankles while taking a sh*t before. You’re the worst. The group I was with was going to go around to the bar after our meal, but we all decided to take or money elsewhere. Have fun with the old wannabe Irish mob attitude. I’m sure it’ll keep the customers coming back.

I would be remiss if I did not update my review. My fiancé and I have been coming here for 6+ years and the quality of the food and service has drastically declined. Reluctantly — last night we decided to give the food another shot. After our meal and service — we decided our money on food was best spent elsewhere. The calamari was bland and probably the best thing we had. First, since my old go tos were no longer good I decided to try a buffalo chicken wrap. I ate maybe 1⁄8th of the chicken and 10 fries and couldn’t stomach any more. Our waitress never came by — and my plate was cleared by another waitress who had no questions about taking a full plate of food from me. Having been in the restaurant business before — I would have asked if the food was okay. My fiancé used to love the Shepards Pie and he even admitted it is no longer good and he won’t be ordering it again. Considering the bar tables were all empty when we got there — our services was slow and unfriendly. I do not believe she cracked a smile once. Once our plates were cleared — it took her 30 mins to drop the check and we were even looking for her to get her attention. Unfortunately — this is not a place we will be attending for lunch or dinner any more. I would gladly still come here to drink at the bar as the bartenders are always friendly — but food is no more.

Stopped in for an early dinner tonight(a Monday night). We had never been here before. The restaurant was nearly empty with only 3 other tables occupied. We were given a Dinner menu from an affable waitress with an Irish accent. She took our drink orders(a diet coke and water) which were promptly filled. We ordered the roast duck and the sirloin steak salad(which was ordered rare when asked by our waitress). The waitress promptly disappeared. We waited nearly 30 minutes for our orders to be filled. This in itself is not a problem if they are preparing the food freshly. The plates were served by another waitress who put them down without asking if we needed anything else. Firstly, upon looking at the slices of steak they were all brown. Instead of red(as one would expect of a rare piece of meat) they were brown and tough. I waited a few minutes expecting our waitress to return to ask if everything was alright. Neither the waitress nor anyone who looked like a manager was not to be seen. I bucked up and eat the salad pouring the olive oil laden dressing to moisten the meat. We were able to flag down another of the wait staff and we ordered another coke. The duck was crispy and covered with a sweet raspberry sauce. While the duck was tasty, it too was cooked well done. We always cook our duck medium and have always had it served that way in finer restaurants. The duck was accompanied by a baked potato and turnips. These happen to be a favorite of my wife and we seldom see them on restaurant menus. She wasn’t offered any condiments such as butter for the potato and the turnips were cold. When we were done eating our waitress showed up and asked how things were. I showed her a piece of the steak which was so dry that even with the olive oil I couldn’t eat and suggested that the kitchen didn’t know what rare was. She just said she was sorry and didn’t offer to have anyone speak to us. She asked if we wanted dessert. I asked for the check. Like a previous reviewer stated management in this restaurant has a problem. The service was horrible and the kitchen even worse, AND there were only 4 tables occupied. We also were not offered a bar menu. I’m sure we would have ordered burghers or fish and chips had it been offered and I may be giving this restaurant 5 stars but for us it wasn’t an option.

The restaurant business is tough. It is imperative that management employ best practices to assure the customer experience is a good one. The folks at JC Fogarty’s either don’t care or just don’t know. My wife and I with another couple arrived at 6PM for an early Saturday dinner. We were exposed to just about every service failure: 3 of 4 drinks were not prepared as ordered(lemon in a Martini instead of the ordered olives); we were given only the dinner menu which did not include items on the bar menu(you have to know to ask for the other menu); our server disappeared for about 40 minutes while our meals were being prepared(no offers to sell us additional drinks or refill water glasses.) Our meals arrived a bit over an hour after we sat down. We had ordered off the dinner menu which included entrée dishes with starch and vegetable sides. We had the salmon, cod & the bowtie steak with portobello mushrooms. The latter dish was the best of the lot with a delicate sauce however there was shortage of mushrooms. The side mixed veggies were straight out of a freezer bag. All this bad service was while the restaurant was almost empty. We did notice several other tables enjoying good looking burgers. Too bad we didn’t know about their availability. We did ask about how the burgers were being served at other tables and found that we needed to ask for the bar menu to get one. Too bad, I was in the mood for a burger…

Fantastic burgers, have had on about 3 occasions. Solid good choice. Last time however, I had fish and chips and they were pretty terrible! Soggy batter, fried and hot but not crisp at all! Tried to peel it away to get the fish inside and the cod was certainly not the best… thin limp, the cheap tail end of the cod. One of the worst I’ve had. Live music on sat nights keeps the place hopping and fun!

Walked into this establishment after a terrible experience at Il Bacio. The service was indeed slow but our server was very nice and the food was great. I had the poached salmon. I’d definitely go again.

Judging from experience at the bar only — usually visit from 9pm-12am I’m giving fogartys a mediocre rating because it seems as if most people come here in groups to get obliterated drunk –and these crowds always get rowdy — which is a bummer if you’re looking to have a relatively quiet weeknight. Our first visit we ordered buffalo wings(bar food which isn’t expected to be five star dining) but were still so awful that we never took a chance to order food again. A nice place for a night cap if you’re in town. We are some what regulars here and enjoy the bar but it’s nothing exceptionally great. We always enjoy the live music!

Been coming here for years to parties and I can definitely say that the service and quality of food has steadily declined. Its a party mill, with two-four parties going on at a time. Clearly the staff and the kitchen can’t keep up with it. Everyone seems overwhelmed and confused– always to jc FOGARTY’s benefit– I thought these parties had open bar– then why’d it take 20– minutes to get 1 beer. They aint’ giving anythigg away. hopefully they get back on track or they’ll have the party rooms all to themselves.

**Bar review only** We came in and weren’t greeted at all, even though the place was empty. Instead, several minutes after sitting down, we were asked for ID(before saying«Hello, how are you?» or any such greeting). The bartender kept going in and out of the men’s restroom every few minutes for some reason. Eventually, between these random trips to the restroom, the bartender came back and I ordered a Brooklyn Lager. My companion got a Shock Top. The Shock Top was not poured well, and the bartender started rapidly spooning beer out of the tall glass and into the drain(what??). Come check time, we asked for it to be split. The bartender stated, «It’ll be $ 6.25 each.» After handing him $ 10 and receiving my change, my companion handed him her credit card, which had been lying on the countertop for a couple minutes. He replied, «It’s a $ 10 minimum.» There were NO signs anywhere stating this before we came in, and he wasn’t sympathetic at all to the fact that my companion had no cash on hand. I paid her tab with my remaining cash, but the bartender got no tip(deservedly so, IMHO), as I only had $ 6.25 left in my wallet. Bottom line: rudest, weirdest service I’ve ever received at a bar. If I ever go back for dinner, I’ll be sure to update this review.

I came here twice, both times for parties. The food was okay. i liked the steak and the salad that was served. I didn’t try many of the other options, which included pasta and some sides. The parking can be a pain, so get there early. Staff is pretty friendly. There is a restaurant dining area and a separate room, if you want to have a party.

The food channel has shows about what to do about places like this. You know, bring your sledge hammer, fire everyone and start over. Fact is, the food is over priced so evaluate how much disappointment you willing to risk when dining here because every other restaurant turned you away. The menu offers a combination of decidedly«all American favorites» comprised of apparently frozen this and that, a decent helping of instant this and that and over cooked but likely formerly fresh vegetables. These appear on your plate more as an afterthought than an essential element to an entrée«showcasing» its vegetables on the menu. It was the kind of surreal dining experience what drove Kafka to write, Dali to paint bizarre landscapes and patrons to not tip generously.

Went with the family(approx 15) in between wakes, next door at Mc’Grath’s. So they show us into a private room that has windows facing Kraft Ave and the full evening sun. This is about 4:30 so the sun had heated up the room pretty well prior to our arrival. We all noticed how hot the room was and immediately asked someone to turn on the AC, which they said they would do. It was just a bit uncomfortable in suits and ties and dresses that have to look nice for the second session to come. I started with the onion soup which was good but my only criticism would be to have the cheese on top a little more golden brown and delicious. But otherwise it was delicious. So After bread and butter, cocktails and appetizers the room is still as hot as it had been originally and several of my family had asked different staff members about the AC, SEVERAL times. Finally after about the 8th request and about 30 minutes into the meal the air was in fact turned on. I chose the seared scallops for a main course in hopes of not spilling anything on my handsome new tie. My mother also chose the scallops and my father went with the pork chop with Portobello mushrooms. Both my mother’s and my scallops were overcooked and rubbery. I was so very disappointed because they looked great. My mother raved about the«homemade» mashed potatoes! She loved them. My father’s pork chop was cooked perfectly and had a very nice teriyaki sauce on the Portobello mushrooms. This dish was delicious. The service was great and everyone was very friendly. Dessert was also very good. I had the cheese cake which was moist and silky smooth on my tongue.

This place was gross. The beer was great but the tailgate platter was mostly inedible. What kind of bar can’t prepare the basic bar food like wings, chicken fingers and potato skins? The wings and chicken fingers were horribly dry inside. So dry that I couldn’t get them down. The potato skins were a little too«crispy» if you know what I mean. These were so bad that I didn’t bother trying the shrimp since seafood is tricky. Flip side was that the server was awesome, very helpful and nice. Will definitely NOT return here. Ever.
