Allen Carpet & Flooring

This review is long overdue. The reason I’m writing it now is because I am planning to go back again soon and give them repeat business without hesitation.
I moved into my current home over a year ago and needed to buy a large area rug to fit under my large sectional. Instead of a rug, I opted for carpet remnant because I have pets and find carpet to be much easier to clean and care for. Allen Carpet had good reviews and was nearby so I stopped in to check them out. I am so happy I did. I got a really nice, plushy carpet cut to the large size I needed (8.5×11 ft) and had the ends bound to make a beautiful area rug for my living room. The manager and I talked about several options for my needs and he got me the rug, padding and delivery included for a great price. When my friends come over, a few of them love sitting on the it — even if that means they’re on the floor instead of my couch.

I found Allen Carpet because they were offering financing for a year in Clipper magazine. They honored the offer. They were really helpful in finding a floor that met my budget. I love the floor, I didn’t want wood because it scratches and they recommended a high end vinyl. It’s beautiful and it looks like large wood planks. We put it in on a diagonal and it looks amazing. It’s the first compliment I get when people enter my kitchen. Also, they insisted that we take out the old floor, which Home Depot and my contractor said they would just put the new floor over the old one. So glad I went with Allen Carpet’s advice, now my floor is the same height as the other floors in my house.

Just like Mary says, this place is awful. These people will nickle and dime you to death. And once they have their paws on your money, you can forget about any customer service. Help loading the stuff in to the car? Nope. Returns? The owner laughs and asks you what he is going to do with the return! Defects? Well, that’s why you buy extras according to the owner.

I just had a great experience at Allan’s carpets!!! If you want good honest people who you can really trust, give them a try! A pleasure to buy from. Ask for Dennis. He’s the man!

I had carpet from Allen Carpets installed for one room in my apartment this part Friday. The service at the store was fine, sales agents more than willing to assist and make a sale. I had a decent impression from the showroom perspective. Installation was scheduled for Friday, March 7^th. They never called to confirm the day or time. I called around 11am and was told to expect delivery between 1pm and 3pm. At 3:30pm, no one showed. I needed to call back several times to listen to the sales agent apologize for the delay, but there was nothing that could be done. The installer and his assistant arrived at 7pm. Outrageous! They were in and out in 2 hours and the carpet looks beautiful. But, if you live in an apartment, be forewarned. The delivery service is unreliable.

We found Allen Carpet on Unilocal and all the reviews are spot on. We had a flood in our basement and needed area rugs that could stand up to pets and a 5 year old and didn’t want to spend too much. Dennis helped us find the right solution and the right price.

These guys are the best!
When I realized that I absolutely had to carpet my new bedroom, I panicked as I’ve never had to do more than purchase a rug. Friends spoke of depth, paddings and fibers — all these things were foreign to me. I walked into Allen Carpet and encountered a man with a vibe I just did not like. He was distant yet pushy and really spent most of his efforts on my male friend who had tagged along with me. Having read the previous reviewer’s comments about Dennis, I opted to wait until I had a chance to speak with him over the phone since he was not in the store when we visited.
Waiting was the best decision I could ever had made. I had checked out Home Depot and ABC Carpet but could not find anything close to the texture of a particular Karastan carpet I first fell in love with at Allen. I called the store and spoke to Dennis to see if there was anything he could do to help me stay within my budget and this man proved to be every bit as incredible as the previous reviewer said. Dennis is a gem, just a sweetheart of a man who will do everything he possibly can to make you happy. He even personally came out to measure the space since one of his contractors was unable to keep my original appointment.
I really, really love the commitment and compassion that Dennis has not only as a person but as a businessman who understands his customer’s needs. I genuinely adore this guy for making what initially seemed to be a really scary purchase into something so simple and enjoyable.
If you’re in the market for carpeting don’t waste your time going anywhere else. Try these guys out — I promise you will not regret it.

Although there were some snags in terms of the delivery of our first set of area rugs when we moved to our new apartment, you couldn’t ask for a better guy or salesman than Dennis. He is forthcoming and will do his best to get you the exact carpet you need (and/​or want) while keeping the price affordable (as was the case when we recently needed two additional area rugs ASAP because apparently I exercise too loudly — SUCK IT UP, MAN!)
Anyway, he was able to get us beautiful rugs while staying within our budget. He even offered to deliver our carpet so we could avoid the delivery cost (but please don’t mention that to him if you go in for a carpet — I have a feeling it’s more out of the kindness of his heart than SOP)
