I have been very active at the Wellness Center over the last year taking personal training, spinning, interval circuit and yoga classes. Like any new business, it has had its initial challenges and growing pains. What I have found is staff and managers are very willing to listen to feedback from its members. Due to popularity of classes/instructors the Wellness Center has increased offerings each quarter. As demand continues to grow so do the offerings. On average, I am at the Wellness Center eight hours a week. I find the place friendly, inviting and warm. I’m on my second year as a member now. I was comfortable paying for the entire year in advance because I continue to see positive growth and tremendous support from the YS community. I look forward to seeing how 2016 goes!

The facilities are gorgeous. The pool is fantastic, the staff are helpful and friendly, the equipment is top notch, the pickleball is plentiful :-) Would I love it open longer hours? Sure, but that doesn’t seem to me to be a reason to dock stars from a truly pleasant place to workout. Family membership price is fair. Be aware that because of the proximity of the raquetball courts to the yoga area the courts are not open when yoga is in session! So check the schedule if you’re going to play! I screwed myself once on that. Anyway we’ve been family members since we got to town, use it frequently and am SOOOO happy it’s here. Absolutely no need to schlep to another gym somewhere else.

Place is a joke. Management has no idea what they are doing. Pool is impossible to use for lap swimming. Cost is high but would be tolerable if the staff were not incompetent and policies were not so ridiculous. Hours terrible. I guess it makes since since it is run by Antioch. I would stay away and join a real gym for half the cost with professionals running it.

I feel so strongly about supporting businesses and ventures in and around town. My husband and I both grew up here and we love the sense of community and trust – it’s so important to us. When the Community Center opened(even though the prices are incredibly high) we were so excited to join! We have had a multitude of issues with the facility: *The hours are such a joke. A lot of people need to have a facility open LATERTHAN5 or 7PM on the weekends. *Management is unfriendly and distrusting. We were accused of duping«the system» when our autistic cousin came to spectate us and was seen«using the facility without having paid to do so». The average age of our group when we come to use the facility is 35. We aren’t trying to «cheat» anyone out of money. When a young woman with a mental handicap is running around trying to discharge energy for a few minutes, I don’t believe it’s cause for alarm or accusations of deception. And we are all otherwise paying members/customers. *Management is uniformed and fickle when it comes to «policy». *There needs to be a DESIGNATEDAREAFORCHILDREN so that when paying members need a court to play on, we aren’t turned away because«there’s no other place to take the kids.» *I don’t want to pay exorbitant amounts of money to lose out on the already trifling hours on the weekends to «WOMEN’S ONLY» gym hours. *Spectators should absolutely be allowed into OURCOMMUNITYCENTER without having to pay money, especially elderly community members. Not only are they now being charged to watch private events, they’re being charged the EXACTSAMEPRICE as someone that has to purchase a guest pass to actually use the facility. Does this honestly make any sense? *Guest passes are ludicrously over-priced at $ 10 a day.
