Jailhouse Suites

Jailhouse Suites Loft is one of the best rooms my husband and I have ever stayed in. It is very clean. The owner is just a text away with any need. You enter a predetermined code to get in the room. They have the ‘tiny house’ room designed perfectly with anything you might need. The little deck is great. Walk to the eclectic village of Yellow Springs. A few gift certificates are one of the perks. We used the ‘First pint is on us’ certificate at the Yellow Springs brewery. Hiking at Clifton Gorge, Young’s Dairy Farm, Pfeiffer’s Orchard, etc. are all minutes away. You will not be disappointed!

My mom and I stayed at the Jailhouse for two night and it was wonderful. We stayed in the loft studio and loved every minute. Very clean and well put together. The garden area is beautiful and a great side porch for morning coffee. The jailhouse is close to the the down town area — within walking distance — which is a huge bonus. I would highly recommend the Jailhouse. It’s a great getaway at a good price! We will visit again.

My fiancé and I love YS and this is our new favorite place to stay. The Jailhouse Tower is perfect. From the moment you book, the owner is in contact with you via email. There is code to get in which is great because you don’t have to have a specific check in time. The owner texts you when the room is ready and you can text them with any issues. There are many perks with the room — like the 5.00 gift card at a great local restaurant.
The room is an apartment with a living room, dining area, small kitchen, bed, and bathroom. It’s clean and well-​maintained. It has everything you could want for a night or an extended stay. It also has great light and large windows.
The building is lovely and the gardens are incredible.
We have already booked our next stay.

Great guest house/​bed and breakfast! Rooms were very stylish, comfortable, clean, and everything worked well. For a bed and breakfast, they are very advanced technologically. Everything is done via email and you get a door code to enter and exit. No Breakfast but you get a 5 doller coupon for an awesome local spot that is so cheap 5 bucks will basically pay for one persons breakfast. They also give you a coupon for a free beer at the local brewery. Very impressed! And $ 100 a night on a weekday is a steal!

My husband and I wanted to spend a quiet evening in Yellow Springs.
He heard about this place and read great reviews. Plus it is very historical.
When we pulled up, we were amazed how beautiful this building is. The landscape was gorgeous (they have a garden area) and love the color of the building.
The owner was great with communication, paid credit card over the phone and did not have to check in through a lobby/​front desk, put in a code on the front door. That easy.
We got the suite which was on the top floor. We walked in and loved it. It was newly renovated and really clean. Awesome décor. It did not feel like a hotel.
There was a kitchen, (pots pans, utensils refrigerator, filtered water) and a keurig coffee maker (which is a bonus), widescreen tv (in living room and bedroom), dining area, extra toiletries if needed, extra towels, and building is solar energy
My only con was the bed was not comfortable and the hot water did not stay long if you wanted to take a bath.
I would highly recommend this place if you would like to stay in Yellow Springs. Only minutes away from downtown.

I’ve determined everytime we go to Yellow Spring for a weekend getaway, we will reserve the Jailhouse Loft. This loft honestly fulfilled all our expectations. But before I talk about the actual room, I want to mention the owner, Robert. Once I reserved the room, Robert corresponded with me via email about the room, what I need to do to check in, what to expect, etc. After we dropped our luggage off in the room, I asked him recommendations on where to get lunch. Now Yellow Spring is small and easy to walk (Jailhouse Suites is really only a couple blocks from the center of town), so we could have found something on our own. He offered to take us in his golf cart and give us a brief tour of the town. It was a really nice gesture and just showed how welcoming the people are.
Now onto the room. Since it’s a loft, it occupies the upper level/​attic area of a barn like structure. We walk up the stairs and there is a nice patio set for 2 next to the front door. To enter there is a keypad. Robert provides the code ahead of time. The loft has sloped ceilings, hardwood floors, 4 windows and is perfect for 2. The space has a queen size bed, tv with cable, small kitchen (sink, toaster, fridge), dining nook, office desk and full bath. The room also has wifi and air conditioning. This space is absolutely perfect, all the amenities you are looking for, private, quiet and modern. My only issue really is that the water pressure from the shower head could have been stronger.
So to sum up Jailhouse Suites, it is clean, quiet, full of amenities, close to town, modern and affordable. I HIGHLY recommend it.
