Finally, a place to get absolutely amazing bread and pastries in the mid-cape/Dennis area. This bakery is a gem. We’ve had the walnut bread, the country white loaf and the almond croissants. The bread crusts are just phenomenal. Really crusty outside and chewy luscious bread inside. Bön Appetit!

The almond croissants are very good. They are flakey and sweet and sublime. I don’t really like almond flavored things, but her croissants are incredible. The coffee here is top notch, too. The place is big and bright, clean and smells divine. I find the bread crusts almost impossible to cut through. Perhaps it’s supposed to be that way, but I like my bread soft enough to bite into.

Right now I am looking at the most gorgeous almond croissant in the world. Now I am chewing on the most amazing, light, flaky piece of pastry I have ever tasted(even in France). Happy Fish is a very special place and the baker is an amazing young woman with a dedication to perfection. Get there early because they a frequently sold out by late afternoon. This place is definitely worth the time and effort. Everything baked there is perfection!

Ever since Happy Fish opened, we’ve driven or walked past it and seen their ‘sold out’ sign. Yesterday, we happened to find them still with some of their walnut bread, which we bought, and it’s incredible with a luscious chew and robust crust, and it’s purple. Today, we made a special breakfast trip and bought most everything on their recommended list: almond croissants, sticky buns, panettone, coconut cookies, and focaccia. The almond croissant is amazing. We tasted the focaccia and I’ve never had any good. We just tasted the coconut cookies and decided they’re too good for the kids. They can have the Buckie’s cookies(which are really good but they’re not like these). The panettone didn’t live very long. The sticky buns are solid — the caramel is delicious, the dough is perfect without being too sweet. What makes everything so good is the delicious contrasts: amazing flavors paired with crispy and chewy and flakey in all the right place. Knowing that it’s all fresh and local only ads to the enjoyment. Some of the best baked goods you can find west of France and south of Montréal.

What a find. This is the real deal. They have incredible baked goods and breads. The Focaccia bread made for an incredible dinner when we added fresh basil and garden tomatoes. The coconut cookies are not to be missed and the croissants and cheesecake are incredible. There is one baker and she does it all with the help of family so they are only open right now Thurs-Sun and they«shut» as their sign reads when the goods are gone. It is totally worth the trip… yum!

Delicious pastries but the lack of website and lack of consistence in hrs takes what should be a 5 star preview down to 3. Especially after doing an hr round trip drive for pastries this morning to find a post it in the door saying closed… Not cool Happy Fish, not cool at all.

Hats off to the owners of this bakery. Taking a chance in this quiet town that the local population would support a bakery of this quality(with pricing to match) was a gamble. I am glad that they seem to have«won», as has the area, which now has a first class bakery that is locally owned. The breads are what I have enjoyed best, only because I am a budding home bread baker. Their breads are very very good! When visiting various cities, I try and seek out good local bakeries to check out their breads, and this bakery compares very favorably. For those who have been to Tartine in San Francisco, the breads here have a very similar experience, and I would not surprised if Tartine was a part of the inspiration behind this place. Tartine is exceptional, but this place comes awfully close. I have tried the croissants, which are also highly recommended. I believe that they are at least as good as PB Boulangerie in Wellfleet!

Our family arrived late morning to find most things sold out however, we did score a loaf of rye bread. On a previous attempt(summer) they were also low on treats so I would recommend getting there really early perhaps right at 9:30. I think I’ll venture back in the fall when after the summer crowd to see what they have to offer. The nicest people in the world work here. give them some love and stop in, early! The croissants look divine.

We went for the first time to get almond croissants yesterday and came back today for the chocolate croissants. After those, we plan on coming back every day this summer! The staff is gracious and friendly. Happy fish is wonderful in every way!

Almond croissants were awesome, and the foccacia was cooked to perfection-spongy on rhe inside and crunchy on the outside. We accidentally left without our foccacia, and when we came back to pick it up the staff was extremely nice and genuinely apologetic… recommend this place, and recommend getting there esrly before they run out of chocolate croissants and sticky buns

Wow. I’d like to just write that but Unilocal won’t let me, so here it goes. We got a mini panettone, chocolate croissants, plain croissants and last but not least the best almond croissants I’ve ever had. I have eaten a lot of almond croissants in my life and so has my wife. These are the new benchmark for what they should be. Traditionally made makes all the difference in the world. The filling wasn’t a scoop of almond paste but was part of the overall pastry. If any other local bakers are reading this please do all of us a favor and copy Happy Fish. You’ve been served!

Fantastic bakery addition to the north side of the mid-Cape, at a higher end than the Underground bakery. We have had just about everything they’re baking right now, and it’s all been superb. The almond croissant melted in my mouth; I honestly can say I haven’t had a better one on l’autre cote de la ponde. The interior restoration of this place(it’s hard to believe, but it used to be a furniture store) is a great blessing to Yarmouth Port/Dennis. They are in the process of getting permits from the town elders to put more seating in, at which point it will be a fantastic little bistro. It is expensive, to be sure; but in this case if you are paying for high-end baked goods, you’re getting the real deal here. The other downside is they run out of things, earlier and earlier, and until the baking schedule gets adjusted accordingly you may be disappointed if you wait until the afternoon to stop in.

The Almond croissant is everything! It was fresh, crispy at the bottom and soft on he inside. It was perfect. Just how i remembered back home in the French bakery. The ambiance has a rustic feel. I cant wait until they get the seating area done. I live in providence and the 1hr 30min drive is soooo worth it!

Amazing. It is difficult to find bakeries like this today. Almond croissant had just enough crispness,. It was wonderfully flakey and buttery. Heaven!

Small place with a limited selection and no seating(yet). The baked goods are on the pricey side, but not out of line with other high end bakeries in the area. I’ve tried pretty much everything they sell and it’s all top notch. The owners are super nice. Happy Fish is a great addition to Yarmouth Port. Go here and buy some baked goods!

We have a vacation home on the cape and were eagerly awaiting the opening of this new bakery. We have stopped in on a few occasions and the quality of the baking is outstanding. My wife and I travel to Europe frequently(I am French) and we are pretty picky about bread and other french boulangerie classics(croissant, brioche, etc) and we have not been disappointed. We love the walnut bread and buy it whenever it is still available but the seed loaf is also excellent. In fact, we haven’t had anything from this little spot that has been anything but top quality. The bread is deeply flavored with a great crust which demonstrates the care and technique that go into the product. We haven’t tried the Panetone, but they look delicious and we’ll pick one up on our next visit. If you’re looking for REALLY nice bread, check them out but get there early before they sell out.
