Do not go there, the food is lousy. It’s no wonder they keep offering Groupons to try and get people in the door. Went last weekend for breakfast, the parking lot was empty, that should of been our first clue to not go there. The heat didn’t seem to be working, we were sitting right under a vent that was blowing out cold air. Food came out cold, who likes eating cold eggs? Husbands syrup for his French toast looked and tasted like corn syrup. Food was below average diner food. For the prices they charge, you would expect a high quality meal. Will not return.

I will start with the positives. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. You could clearly see the kitchen when you walk through the dining room, and it was spotless. The silverware, dishes, and table were all clean. The décor, although a bit out dated was nice and dining room was well lit. Now for the not so good. Service is slow, price was on the high end, and food was sub-par. Menu read like any Italian restaurant with nothing really exciting or modern. Had calamari app that was very basic squid rings dipped in batter, lightly fired, served with lemon wedges and watery«marinara». Also had baby rack of veal(special). The veal rack was poorly frenched and the meat was tough and chewy. The mixed vegetables served with this were in some awful brown sauce did not taste like they were made fresh for the meal let alone fresh that day.

I have gone to this restaurant probably 5 times so this review is based on more than a single visit. The food is on the high end of the price range and the low end of the quality range. The place is a massive up sell. Though the service is good the kitchen is horrid. For example: last night we ordered 5 lamb chop dinners, which were the most expensive thing on the menu. We all ordered them med-rare, they all arrived well done. The explanation we received(from the owner!) was that all the lamb chops were pre cooked then re– heated to order so anything less than med-well could not be had. This was baffling to me. I would love to blame the chef, but when the owner starts throwing out excuses such as those I begin to think there is a bigger problem. If you are 70+ and unable to recognize what you are eating you won’t mind the terrible food and high prices, otherwise go elsewhere.

Unfortunately this place is one of my parent’s favorites, but to me it never lives up to expectations. Wait-staff often seems distracted, the quality of ingredients seems below par, and quality of food prep seems inconsistent. I’ve had a few dishes there in the past year that were either poor quality or weren’t prepared very carefully(overcooked chicken and vegetables, fish that was nowhere near fresh, bread that had to be a day old). There are better choices in the area.

Nice atmosphere. Server told me their crab cakes were 90% lump crab meat and 10% filler. Wrong! Just the opposite. It was 95% filler and maybe 10% crab meat. I’m from Baltimore and I know crab cakes! And the tarter sauce had horseradish in it. Gross! The olive oil on the table was rancid. There were two of us and the server only brought two slices of bread. The total bill was $ 51 and I’m glad that someone else paid the check. I was truly disappointed.

Recommended by our hotel. First flag — lights turned way up. Second flag, not even half full. We should have known better. Food was mediocre at best, chicken and fish were dry. Salad that should have been cold was not! Yikes.

We started our meal with a roll and pizza bread. I thought the pizza bread was excellent as I love doughy flavors, my husband prefers them a little crispier so he didn’t like it so much. The sauce on the pizza bread was very tasty and I wish I had more of them. I ordered the Pasta Bolognese and at the recommendation of the waitress had it with angel hair pasta. It was very delicious and reminded me of my mom’s homemade sauce. I struggled to finish the last bite because it was so good and the portion was enough to make me extremely full. My husband ordered the Chicken Marsala. We found the taste of the wine to be a little overpowering, but otherwise a very good Marsala. Overall, the service was excellent. The food had excellent portions leaving both of us very full. We would try the restaurant again because between our two meals we couldn’t fully decide if it was a complete hit. Will review once we go again. Btw, there is a very nice back room that would be good for small parties.

I liked this place. The food was great as well. I liked the complimentary bread and olive oil that came with it. That is usually a classic I look forward too. They started us off with a salad. It was meh and dry. They should try to add some flavoring to it. I had the eggplant parm for my entrée. It was amazing. The portion size was huge! I could only finish half of it. The desserts were really good. I liked the variety of desserts they provided. Overall, it was a good time. One small complaint were the chairs. They were somewhat uncomfortable and I saw a ant on the table…

Everyday menu = 3 Unilocal+Thanksgiving buffet = 4 Unilocal divided by 2 = 3.5 Unilocal. The Byob factor plays into this spot being a choice for locals. I am not one but have been here a few times(care of groupons) On those visits the food has been adequate, and not memorable enough to ever be my choice. But I am a fan of the Thanksgiving buffet. It is about $ 30 per person and actually very good. All of the traditional items you would expect are represented, even pumpkin soup and 2 types of stuffing. Along with this are a few Italian choices, pastas, fish, and even beef last year. The side dishes are very well prepared. And the desserts are top notch. We’ve been coming here for about 4 years now, and even the vegetarians seem pleased.

Today I went here for the first time. I was more than pleased! It was delicious. Not cheap but the food was very good. It was a very nice place inside and BYOB. Unusal and hidden location but amazing food. I ordered a chicken dish that was really good, and it came with great mashed potatoes and plenty of vegetables. Another person in my party order the filet, and throughly enjoyed it. Both meals were good sized portions, as well! I can’t wait to go back soon!

Have had all three meals here. Lunch is my favorite. Some prices are a little high for what you get but most of the menu is is fair. Prices range anywhere from a $ 10 plate to a $ 38 delicious Filet Mignon. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a low key kind of meal.

I’m torn between 2 or 3 stars, this place has everything in placed for a 4 to 5 stars except for the food. The wait staff is extremely wonderful, the price is decent, BYOB is amazing and the ambience is great. The food on the other hand was mediocre. The Caesar salad seemed as if it was pre-made and left in the fridge. The handmade crab cakes were wonderful and probably my most enjoyed item. My NY strip steak was a little over cooked and really did not have enough flavor/seasoning. There was nothing spectacular about the grilled veggies and mashed potatoes. The cannoli tasted as if the cream filling was instant, it tasted powdery, totally awful. The Tiramisu was ok, the presentation made it looked gross but the taste was ok, nothing memorable. Almost everyone at the table thought that what they ordered was ok, no one took home their left overs. I did get a warning from a previous patron that I may not enjoy the food. I don’t think I would come back.

I met two friends at Christines this week for lunch and this was my first experience. I was impressed with the warm wood décor, sparkling white table cloths and tasteful holiday décor. At our server’s recommendation my companions chose the quesadillas and the crabcake. I elected to go with the deluxe cheeseburger. We had plenty of time for discussion as our meals didn’t appear for more than 30 minutes. All platters arrived looking very appetizing and plentiful. My companion who ordered the crabcake was satisfied. However my companion who ordered the quesadillas was disappointed at the curious lack of flavor. I was the patron most deeply disappointed. As I am avoiding carbs I ate my burger without the brioche bun. Perhaps the thick bun and accompanying onions mushrooms cheese, bacon and the lettuce and tomato were all designed to mask the taste of inferior meat overcooked to medium well instead of the requested medium rare. The bacon was crisp and delicious but couldn’t disguise the poor tasting beef. Our server was very friendly but also very slow in delivering our meals.

I went here with family for a celebratory dinner. Loved the BYOB. Each of our meals was delicious; chicken marsala, veal marsala, ravioli, and steak. The mussels appetizer was tasty. My husband ordered the pumpkin soup which was fabulous! He really enjoyed it. For dessert we ordered the chocolate brownie, motlen cake, and cheesecake. We all thought the chocolate brownie was the best overall. Our server was very helpful and attentive. The prices were just right for the quality & quantity of food.

Great restaurant. Super food. Excellent service. Our waiter was superb. Would recommend to anyone. Owner, Jim, was so kind and personable. Our flight was delayed and he was very agreeable about our reservation changes. Atmosphere was very nice. Table were spaced good distances apart for personal conversations. We live in Michigan and will certain come back if we are in the area again

We had dinner here with a group of 15 for a special occasion. The fact they’re BYOB really helped keep cost down. There was an issue with our reservation but staff on hand quickly remedied the issue. We ordered each appetizer on the menu. I tasted each one all were high quality and delicious. I had the veal parmigiana entrée and it was fantastic. All 15 of us loved our dinners I just bought their Groupon and can’t wait to go back.

Christine’s Restaurant is difficult to figure. First blush, the space is warm and cozy in a clubby kind of way, with lots of dark wood tones, white tablecloths, and plenty of windows. All good. Then, the menu says it is an Italian shop, which is something of a surprise as it gives no hint of its ethnic orientation. So what? If the food is good Italian I don’t care if it looks like a rib joint. Next, checking the menu, it offers breakfast until 1:00. The prime item is Eggs Benedict — not exactly created in Palermo. The breakdown is in Sandwiches/Wraps; Burgers; Pasta; Salads, and Entrees. The pasta is the only strong hint that maybe this is where their specialty resides, but I am thinking, «Pasta in this place?» I still didn’t get that this was home base for the kitchen. So, I had the Florentine Chicken Sandwich and a side of Classic Caesar Salad. The wedgie was grilled chicken, garlic sauteed spinach, with a melted cheese over the top. I think the menu said the cheese was pepper jack, which would have been better than the too mild provolone that dressed the other main ingredients. Too, the roll it came out on was fresh, but not Italian crusty. It was a little non-descript, and although it carried the sandwich, failed to really pull its weight. I left most of it on the plate to concentrate on the spinach and chicken. It was not worth the calories. On the other hand, the Caesar was quite good, with crisp romaine, homecrunched croutons, and a decent creamy dressing. It actually saved the day, as it more than complements the sandwich. If anything, it was the other way around. The whole experience was a little topsy turvy. The side became the star of the show, and the supposedly dominant aspect of the plate was left in partial obscurity. The staff was friendly, informed and timely. There seems to be an identity crisis at Christine’s. Once it finishes therapy I will gladly return to see what they decided to become.
