Russillo’s Pizza & Gelato

Pistachio gelato is the best ever! You can get «gelato» next door to russillos and its over priced and not good at all. Their pizza is the best in town!

This has to be the most crappy service ever… people were walking out waiting more than an hour for food… those that were eating were being served individually while there table watched as they ate… yeah never again.

I came in from out of town with my Wife and two daughters. We sat and placed our orders in a timely manner, the server was very nice. My youngest daughter’s meal came out first, low carb wrap, then 5 minutes later out came my grinder, but it wasn’t the right one, meatball, not the Italian. The waitress made a comment to the cook about it being the wrong order and two minutes later out came my meal…
My complements on the new menu… I just wish someone would have shown it to the cooks. The Italian grinder was on a small cold hoagy roll, no special «Sammy» sauce, just dry, one slice of each meat, a small clump of lettuce and the strongest red onions in town. No tomatoes or peppers as advertised and a side of cold fries, but I wasn’t about to push my luck by sending it back to the not so happy cooks. My 12 year old makes better sandwiches.
Five minutes later my wife’s portobello burger came out which was pretty good, cold fries. Another five minutes later the waitress came by and realized that my daughter’s fettuccine had not made it out yet, she actually forgot to enter the order. When it finally arrived, it was like eating mac n cheese without the cheese. Flavorless, Heartless effort. Needless to say as hungry as she was, she couldn’t eat more than a few bites, but she was able to finish the toast.
No apologies were made about the fact the the last plate was delivered 30 minutes after the first, or the fact the we left more food on our plates than we ate. Here’s an idea, have your cooks sample some of the food they make and if the are happy with it, they should be bartenders… We should have had the pizza.

Been going here for years. Under new management. Not too impressed. nowhere as good as before. Slow service and poor taste.

I was in town on business and could have dined anywhere. I ignored the comments posted about lousy service. Shame on me. The service ruined what would have been an enjoyable meal. Apparently the order printer wasn’t working properly. My server didn’t realize it until 20 minutes after my order was placed. Since I was seated somewhat near the kitchen, I overheard the conversation about my order. The server apparently didn’t want to tell me what was going on so avoided my table. No even a soda refill was offered during that 20 minutes. Only when I called her over did she explain it. When I expressed frustration about the delay, she offered a free scoop of gelato. After my pizza was delivered, the server didn’t care enough to stop by. Then midway through my meal, the server scooted by with her purse over her shoulder. She glanced my way but didn’t even pause as she said goodnight to other staffers and headed out the door. After that, no one came by my table. I got up and walked toward the front door. Another server popped out and asked if I was ready to pay. I told her that it was frustrating that no one cared that I was dining there. This seems to be the one constant for this restaurant. No one cares.

Had the chicken parmesan. Never had it served with fries. This should have been served on a bed of pasta. They claim to be New York Style. Maybe they should travel there and see how it’s done before they make this claim. The sauce was good, service was good, just couldn’t get beyond french fries with this meal, usually the chicken and sauce is on a bed of pasta.

OK, I will try to be less hangry writing this than I was at the restaurant today. I’ve never been a server, so I don’t understand the challenges in the job, and I’m sorry for being impatient.
That said:
The service at this restaurant is absolutely bewildering. In fact, my friends and I avoided Russillo’s for more than a year because it’s not feasible to go here for lunch & make it back to work in a timely fashion. I thought the service last summer was terrible — waitress forgot about us at an outdoor table, food took forever, and even then, the orders were wrong. This time, we said, we’ll sit inside where they can’t forget us or leave us hanging.
Restaurant wasn’t busy, just a few other tables, but they still should have more than 1 person waiting tables. Took at least 10 minutes after ordering our food for the lone waitress to just bring us water (not sure what she was busy doing elsewhere). About 25 minutes after we ordered, a new waitress — just arrived, looking harried — told us one of our orders didn’t work for the lunch special, so we had to change it. She apologized for the other waitress and the mistake.
Time now on our noon-​1 p.m. lunch hour was 12:35. First waitress came back to ask us again what kind of dressing we wanted on our salads. We got soups and salads shortly thereafter, thankfully, because our actual meals weren’t served until like 12:52. They weren’t prepared at the same time, so we watched half our orders getting cold on the counter while they waited for the rest of the food to be ready.
I can’t even really comment on the food. It’s not terrible, but nothing special. Got $ 5 off my $ 22-​ish bill for the inconvenience, which was a nice gesture. Oh, and on my friend’s behalf — Who puts mayonnaise on an Italian sandwich?!
Mostly, I just don’t understand how you can run a business when service is so poor. I’ve since heard I’m not the only one who has vowed never to step inside here again. Please, management, figure out how to properly staff your restaurant!

Well. I would say room for improvement. Sever was obviously new and not trained. We Ordered the taco pizza came with no cheese or Red onions. When I asked the server she had no idea what even came on the pizza. Lol! My son ordered a slice of pizza only had 2 of the 4 toppings he requested was still charged for all 4 toppings. Got our bill and was told by the server the items were not correct on the ticket but insured it was the same amount. The sever cashed out the wrong ticket so I guess we switched bills with the next table needless to say not worth the $ 70 tab! Hopefully they have better wait staff in the future or will not return.

Terrible service. Waitress was rude. Slow. Never refilled drinks or brought marinara sauce when asked. She had a terrible attitude. Dropped a package a crackers on floor. She picked them up off the floor and still placed them back on the plate with the soup. Pizza Sat on counter for so long it was cold when I FINALLY got it. All in all just a very poor experience. Won’t return. Too many other places to spend my time and money.

The supreme pizza really hit the spot and chased it down with a nice glass of the house red wine. You can’t miss with this place a very solid restaurant and the food is really solid.

The taco pizza was excellent. The server was friendly, even though it was a to go order. The only area for improvement was to offer plates and silverware without me having to ask. Also, salsa packets would have rounded out the pizza well.
Overall, great food. Fair prices for the quality. And smiling friendly server. I will return.

We are extremely pleased with the new menu! The staff is wonderful too which is why we are still coming back at least once a week. Make sure you leave room for dessert — the canoli (sp?) was excellent. Keep up the good work Russillo’s, we’ll see you next week.

At one point, Russillo’s was one of my favorite restaurants in town. That is no longer the case.
My wife and I arrived and waited a few minutes to be seated on a Friday afternoon just before 5pm. We were seated at a table with no menus or silverware, we sat there 10 minutes before we were brought menus and I suspect it would have been longer had we not asked for them. Shortly after we received menus the waitress returned and we ordered some food, the salad took awhile to come out but it wasn’t much of an issue. However, when we tried to ask our server for silverware she spun around and left as I asked, apparently not hearing. The gentleman sitting in the table next to us actually commented on the situation, stating that he was having a similar experience. I flagged down a man cleaning off tables and got him to bring some silverware, when he brought it to us, he just made a joke about needing silverware to eat and that they were busy, no apology. To my irritation, directly behind him at the hostess table, 4 waitresses stood having a wonderful conversation for several minutes so he was right, they were busy.
When our waitress finally returned the service had driven my wife to drinking and she ordered a glass of wine, when the wine came– the side facing me had lipstick smeared across it and I stopped her from drinking it. Of course our waitress was gone but I got the guy who brought our silverware to come and get us a new glass which he did. The rest of our food came and it was good, and the ticket shortly after.
This is the second worst service I’ve had in my life, it’s a shame because the food was good but if I was only looking for good food I could eat at home. Bad service will break a restaurant and probably will in this case.
Accidents do happen, but they were frequent and the servers were unapologetic and inattentive.

Excellent food for a small town, we had a garlic chicken pizza and the pasta Alfredo… For dessert there homemade gelato!!! Nice service great prices

Impressed. Gluten free pizza is excellent. Hand tossed (yes, we are voyeurs and watched) Martini, beer and wine selection robust. Place needs a little TLC but service and staff outweighs any of it. We also ordered a side salad (surprisingly good — side salads are usually an opportunity to slack off) & of course clam chowder. Quite good for a pizza place.

Food was fine, slow, but fine. It took 50 minutes from time of order to delivery of pizza. The service however was ridiculous!!! When our party unexpectedly included 2 more people, getting two more chairs for them was an amazing debacle. In a room with 4 tables that each held a minimum of 15 chairs, and our party being the only group in the room, we were scolded by 3 different staff by trying to move 2 empty chairs to our table. Our friends had to stand for 10 minutes while folding chairs were fetched. We were in this room for over an hour and a half and no other people were seated in this area. The staff was short and condescending during our meal. Would not come back.

For the past five years, we have made a trip to Yakima and have always stopped at Russillos. This was the first year that I was truly disappointed. We called to order pizza for carry out. When I asked what the gelato flavors were, the woman sounded annoyed that she would have to walk to the gelato case to find out. We headed over after the 20 minutes they said it would take only to find out that our order had not even been started. Also, found out that the gelato flavors they stated over the phone were not available. Another 20 minutes later, we had our pizza and gelato. When we opened the pizza box, I was shocked to find enormous chuncks of sausage on our pizza. It was as if someone was too lazy to slice the sausage into reasonable sized pieces. Thank goodness the crust had not changed!
We miss the old Russillos and the great customer service they used to have…

We have been Russillo’s loyalists for over five years. The new downtown location is perfect for popping in for a night cap after/​before shows at The Capitol Theater, Season’s Performance Hall or to get together with friends after work. The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming.
The BBQ chicken pizza is our go to pie. We also love that they have Bale Breaker’s Winter Warmer on tap.
Curry does a phenomenal job of making our family feel like part of his family.
We will continue to champion this outstanding Yakima business.

I have visited Yakima several times within the past few months and have been excited about trying this place.
Why advertise delivery when you are «unfortunately unable to offer delivery this evening»?
By the way, not the first evening they were unable to offer delivery.

Had the taco pizza and was so impressed decided to come back and try the pasta. Very Dissapointing… Olive Garden is a 4 star restaurant compared to this. Alfredo Pasta had no flavor and was watery. Went with my husband and the 2 pasta dishes cost near $ 20.00 each! I could of made better alfredo and wish I had.
Well we tried and now we know to stick to the pizza
