It’s a real shame when you go up to a Rita’s Window to order your fave, and the person at the window makes a big deal over the way you want something. I just went to Rita’s in Wyndmoor PA, right outside Philadelphia. It isn’t my normal Rita’s which is actually a 5 min drive away from this location. Every time I go to Rita’s, I always order a watermelon blendini with chocolate chips – topped with vanilla custard and rainbow sprinkles(like the top of a gelati) I know that isn’t the«norm» but when a customer orders something that is physically possible to do, and ready to pay whatever extras must need to be charged – I don’t expect the person at the window to turn your face up and say«I never did that… we don’t do that»! The person was the sorta tall African American young lady with plugs in her ears. I mentioned it’s nothing more than the top of gelati and I was willing to pay whatever is extra and I still received a reluctant attitude from this girl like she didn’t wanna make it! I have gotten this without hesitation here in Philadelphia! She even went on to say my local Rita’s is «a different breed»??? I let it go out of confusion of her words, but when she returned, I asked her what she meant by DIFFERENTBREED, she said it was owned by different owners. But again I got this exact order at a few other stores that I’m almost sure aren’t owned by the same owners. She then went to say that I WASRUDE when i wasn’t – I’m only asking questions of what she said, and mentioned that she seemed like she didn’t want to do the order the way I asked, as if it was hurting her. I didn’t give attitude I was more shocked of her attitude towards a customer. I’m a waitress myself and know how you should cater to paying customers and definitely don’t want to be rude to someone because I personally hate when I deal with rude customers at my workplace. This whole ordeal rubbed me the wrong way and I definitely won’t go back to Wyndmoor Rita’s again! I rather go to a Rita’s that values my business, not make like 5 faces after I ordered because YOU never did it before or don’t wanna make it, but yet was a simple request at the end of the day. So sad.

This was the first time I tried Rita’s. I ordered a mango ice. Their Italian ice is different from what I’m use to(Ralph’s and Uncle Louie G’s). The ice at Rita’s is slushier. It’s more of a frozen slushy than Italian ice to me. It’s still really good but I wouldn’t really consider it a Italian ice. The mango flavor was sweet and had a small hint of that sourness of a mango which is good. It wasn’t tooth aching sweet but it did give me a major brain freeze.

I’ve been coming to this Rita’s for years. However today they surprised the hell out of me. Their customer service was crap. When my sister was bringing the water ice to the car, she spilled one and really just needed another one. So when she went back to the window she asked if she could just have the one she just purchased replaced. Most places will replace something when you had an accident for free. This person working there look at my sister like she had two heads. It wasn’t until my sister offered to pay for another medium mango Water ice that she acted like she was awake and gave my sister a new water ice. She was«generous» enough to only charge her for the kids size. I was really disappointed in this location. I would think they would know better. The moral of the story is don’t screw up at this Rita’s there’s no forgiveness.

I’ve been here a couple of times since it opened. The service is a little slow, but acceptable. It’s fun to people watch while in line — people are always in a good mood when they’re getting a treat. The custard is good, and I recently tried one of the Blendinis, which was like a creamier DQ Blizzard. My girls loved walking over here, so I’m sure we’ll be back.

Champ. My co-workers recommended this place and explained to me about how good they are. They suggested me to try water ice and gelati. Many different kinds of flavors and add gelati(vanilla or chocolate custard ice cream). So Kenny and I stopped by to order gelati. He ordered mango water ice with vanilla gelati and I had wild black cherry with vanilla gelati. I died and went to heaven. Seriously. Next day, I practically dragged Kenny with me to go there again and get another one — this time it was a large cup. He got tropical punch and I had georgia peach. I moaned. :) LOL. Last Friday, we agreed that we will get another treat there. This time I decided to go with blueberry(it was ok-ok) and he ordered something different — frozen coffee with gelati. It was good! I have to be careful with oh-so-sweet treats and gain unnecessary pounds. Worse, Rita’s Water Ice Station is only about 30 seconds away from my work. Next time, I will try green apple with vanilla gelati or raspberry with chocolate gelati.
