Awful! The buffalo wings were average; the calzone has ultra-thin slices of pepperoni; their zappoli was dense, doughy and inedible; the garlic knots have no garlic flavor! The prices were also ultra-expensive — 12 wings, 1 calzone, 12 zappoli and 6 garlic knots for $ 30! Did I mention that it took them a long time(over 30 minutes) to prepare our to-go food eventhough there were only 2 customers in the restaurants?! Once burned twice shy!

I LOVE the baked scallops salad with house balsamic dressing. Pizza is delicious, but for a more healthy option, try one of their specialty salads! Super friendly staff, lovely cappuccino, decent prices. Can’t go wrong.

My friend and I wanted to try a new place something different when we stumbled upon Giovanni’s, we are sourly disappointed with the service. We were seated right away and both asked for two waters one with lemon. Not only did the water with lemon come with a fourth of lemon slice the waitress hissed I can’t take your orders until your menus are closed… We kept is simple and ordered two pasta dishes the cheese raviolis for 9.95 and a fettuccine tortellini dish for 12.95, which were mediocre to say the least. Our waitress ignored us the entire time and payed attention to the bigger table next to us which tells us she was only concerned with how big of a tip she would get. When we finally called her attention we asked for the checks to be separated so it would be easier on her. She put both items on one check which is no biggie but refused to let us see the check but was charging us roughly 37 bucks which did not add up. She stayed in front of us trying to do the math with 7% sales tax but couldn’t do simple math and tried to charge me 18 dollars for 9.95 raviolis. At first I thought perhaps she included the tip because she wouldn’t let us see our bill but proceeded to take the credit card out of my hand. When i explained to her she charged the wrong amount she cursed at us and tried to blame us. And continued to say when you leave tip don’t leave it on the card I only want cash. When she finally figured out how to void the transaction to charge me the correct amount she proceeded to tell me that they have a $ 15 minimum. Outraged from this business trying to commit a theft crime by charging the wrong amount and telling me it’s because I got a soda when I got a water I asked if they can accommodate charging my card being I had no cash and was told no. I will not return horrible service only in it for their tips not for their love of the business.

The waitress was very friendly but doesn’t know anything about groupon redemption. After wating 30 min for our hot antipsate appetizer it didn’t even come out hot! The portion was a nice size but nothing was great on it. Mour main course took another 30 min but came out very hot, but not great. My husbands chicken franchise had too much batter. I ordered a special which had several types of fish. I was very surprised it wasn’t over pasta so I said something to the waitress. She was surprised too. I then saw her talking to the owner who proceeded to stomp over to our table. We thought he was going to talk about the pasta but started yelling at us that we couldn’t use our groupon because we didn’t order the correct items. We were very up front with the waitress when we sat down that our groupon was expired and we knew we could only use the value and not get everything that came with the groupon. She said don’t worry. So we ordered what we wanted and thought she would just take off the amount I paid for the groupon. She did NOT tell us we, could still only order pasta dishes. We argued with the owner said it was her fault and we weren’t told what to order. Giovanni is the owner and is an arrogant nasty person to deal with. After a while he gave in and finally took my money off the bill and we said we will NEVER come back again. Worst Saturday night didn’t EVER! Also while waiting I noticed the pizza maker ladling some sauce and the counter girl sticking her pinky in to taste it, then the ladle went back in pot(twice. YUCK,!

Terrible food and very mediocre pizza. Almost all the kitchen food is originally frozen.

This place was horrible. I don’t know where to begin. I had a Groupon deal that I couldn’t even use because of the poor customer service. I ordered two chicken dishes over the phone and when I went to pick it up the cashier redeemed my groupon and than the angry guy came yelling behind her telling her she learned anything and telling her she isn’t doing her job right and if that wasn’t enough he started yelling at me showing me a piece of paper I had no clue what he was talking about. I was getting yelled at all I know is I will not go back to this place ever again and I do not recommend this place to anyone… disgrace of a business

Went here for the first time to pickup an order. I had a groupon worth 25.00 so when I placed my order for a grandma pie and a chicken parm hero from their menu I added the total up myself with the tax and it came to a little under 25.00. Perfect! When I went to pay the total it came to 29.57. More than 5.00 more. When I confronted the man behind the counter he referred me to the bottom of their online menu which says«prices are subject to change without notice». That’s fine and I can somewhat understand but why would someone be offering groupons with a direct link to see their menu with old prices. Now for the food. The grandma pie was ok, I’ve had better, but what really was quite horrible was the chicken parm hero, it was wrapped in aluminum foil. When I opened it, it was a big pile of mush mostly because of the roll which was so soft it was completely soggy. Can’t understand why it couldn’t come on a nice quality hard roll instead of something soft and soggy. I took a couple bites and the sogginess took over the whole taste of the hero. Into the garbage it went. Glad I at least used a groupon and didn’t pay full price. One thing is for sure, I won’t be back.

This place is awesome. Fast friendly service, even if you use a coupon… Always great food and wonderful atmosphere. It’s also BYOB which I love. This is my new go to pizza place although I really want to try some of the appetizers on my next visit!

Return last weekend of the food was fantastic. Extremely tasty and fulfilling portions. Would come back and recommend. Don’t know what happened the first time, second time is much better, maybe different cooks. Ordered broiled flounder which was delicious and my son really enjoyed, and the chicken Murphy was spicy and seasoned very well. I would definitely come back and probably order the same thing.

I ordered a chicken parm hero and fries. I picked up the food and was charged $ 14.68, which I thought was expensive. I grabbed a menu on my way out and went back to work. I compared the menu we had at work with the new one and found the prices had changed. Not a big deal, it happens. A chicken parm hero is now $ 7.25 and a side of fries is $ 3.95, which should be $ 11.20 together and $ 11.98 including tax… so the owner just charged me an additional $ 2.70 for nothing. I’m no rocket scientist, but I’m pretty sure that’s called theft. The food was decent, but not worth getting money stolen from me.

I’m very surprised by the poor reviews people have posted. I love this restaurant. I usually only order pizza from here, but have never had an issue with my order. Their pizza is the best in the area, and I’ve tried every place in Wyckoff, Franklin lakes and Oakland… I had their sicilian pie tonight and it was absolutely delish! Tons of cheese, crust was perfect and their sauce is comparable to the best nyc pizza I’ve had. You will not be disappointed if you choose Giovannis for dinner :).

I seem to have problems with every order I place, so I’m not placing anymore. I feel like ever time I go to Giovanni’s, there’s always an issue. Once, the owner told me my next pizza was on the house because they forgot a topping(which I paid for). When I went to pick it up my complementary pizza, he asked me to pay for it, but the topping was on the house(which I paid for last time). Nice people running the register, but generally have no clue what’s going on. They e-mail promotions, but every time I use one, they seem to make up how the discount works on the fly, to their advantage of course. I’m tired of dealing with this place, and I wish there was a better pizzeria in Wyckoff.

Giovanni’s resturant is very convenient and there service is always with a smile. This is a very good place to just go and get a slice of pizza or a pie, they do delivery and it is a good environment for just a hang out place

Only giving this place two stars because the owner’s friendliness made up for his low quality food. I stumbled into Giovanni’s because of the many person wait at the Wyckoff Deli. This was a big mistake. Being I was in a rush to get lunch in before my break was up, pizza was something I could shove down real quick. The BBQ Chicken pizza got me very excited, so I went for 3 slices without looking at the price. The guy who rang me up said 10.50, and I thought I had heard him wrong. Since my dad had agreed to pay for my lunch, I didn’t argue the price. The one good thing about the experience was the slices were ready in less than 3 minutes. I would have preferred to of paid double for plain pizza. The chicken tasted severely undercooked, even though it was drenched in barbecue sauce. After a few bites I knew it was going to be a struggle to finish 3 slices. Those slices should of been priced 1 dollar each max. It’s unfortunate there is so few food places in the Wyckoff area, and this being one of the only pizzerias really sucks.

I ordered ziti and meatballs and I was stunned to see it in about 5 minutes after I ordered — first red flag. The meatballs were just average, run of the mill, but it was the sauce that stole the show, watery and zero flavor. The server was pleasant but never checked on me after I was served. I had to get her attention to let her know i was done.

Got there at 730p on a Saturday. We sat down right away and we received our bread and salads very fast. Restaurant was 100% full. As of 9pm, we still hadn’t received our food. Waiter said he’s never seen it so busy. We saw only two dishes come out of the kitchen during this time. Even if it was busy, there should still be some food being served. During this time, waiter never even removed our salad bowls. Other tables started walking out from lack of attention. We told the waiter to wrap up our garlic knots because we’re leaving. He vanished for 10 mins. Came back with our dinner. He had no recollection that we said we were leaving. Told him to wrap it up. He came back 10 mins later. We saw a waitress asking a large group at another table who of them hadn’t received their food. How did she not know? We ate our dinner at home. We ordered a dozen garlic knots, but he only gave us 6. The food was actually very excellent. Too bad the service wasn’t. Dec 2015 Upgrading from 1 to 3 stars. We ordered takeout. Food was excellent.

Wish I had better news to report… Pizza, apps, and overall feel just miss the mark. I hope they improve as I will surely be happy to try again if I hear better eats are available here. I would suggest breaking from the normal pizza thing and doing something different. Why create something people want to see, smell, and taste??? Doesn’t Bergen county already have a gazillion pizza places lie this one???

Not sure why this is considered Italian. The food was terrible. A regular old Italian sub consisted of thick store bought«salami», if you want to call it that. It came totally dry on a round roll with lettuce(I don’t eat tomato) but where’s the oil and vinegar? Where’s the oregano? Waitress told me she had mayo. On to my stepfather’s dry ½ inch thick salmon with no flavor. Needles to say he had to go somewhere else to get something to eat. No good

Went up to North Jersey to meet a friend who lives up there for her birthday. This is where she brought everyone for dinner. We were a large group and the place was small and it was obvious they were not prepared for a group of ten. The waitress was the biggest issue of the night. She started off by taking some orders, then disappearing to do something else, then coming back taking some more, then oops let me take another table’s order, then back to us again. I was in the last group of people to get my order taken and it was frustrating. Apparently someone also asked her if we could have separate checks, but we were told to figure it out ourselves and were handed an old calculator. Either this woman isn’t used to dealing with a large group or she is very scatter brained. The food is okay. I went in starving and chose the most filling pasta dish I liked and it served that purpose. I was full halfway through the dish and felt I would never need to eat again for the rest of the night and morning. Overall I have had pasta better made in places more local to where I live. The meat in it looked unappetizing and tasted rubbery, but the sauce was so heavy it drowned it out. It could of tasted worse, but I have high standards when it comes to Italian food. After all I am Irish.
