The sushi was delicious but the service was terrible. The server had the nerve to ask my sister if we had been smoking prior to entering the restaurant. Then came back and mentioned something about a cook in the back had burned something so that’s what the smell was. So inappropriate. When you’re a server, you work for tips. The last thing you should do is insult your table. Such an uncomfortable experience. Also, they had the creepiest music playing. Probably won’t be visiting again.

I’ve bumped them up to a three for ingenuity. I went to the Sushi Bar for a sushi making class. It was a very basic how to roll your own California rolls type of thing, accompanied by wine pairing/tasting. It’s an interesting idea, and if executed correctly could be a huge hit. The seating was less than optimal, with them making do with their standard dining room layout, which scattered people and didn’t allow for any real cross-socializing. The dining room was also open to and interspersed with regular patrons just there to eat, which was odd to say the least. There were several staff leading the event, and while they were attentive and pleasant enough, it was unclear at times who you were supposed to be watching. With a little more polish, this could be a fine event. I’d suggest adding some sake/Shōchū instead of just wines. It’d be more interesting…

Great Japanese food. Fresh made sushi. Friendly and helpful owner and wait staff. What more can you ask for. If you are in downtown Wyandotte you should definitely check this place out.

This is our preferred sushi restaurant. We are locals and frequent Sushi Bar because of its consistent quality. The ambiance is good, rather laid back and alternative. They have a well balanced variety of sushi rolls.

Good service and good rolls. I recommend the lobster roll and the Detroit roll. Our server was great. We had a mix up with what we ordered because apparently the sheet we ordered on already had a few rolls marked off. Staff was very understanding. I felt bad I didnt even look that closely at the sheet before I selected our rolls. Wait for food was not that long as ive seen on other reviews. However, it was pretty empty for a saturday night. Only reason its 4 stars is because they put too much spicy mayo on the rolls. I love spicy mayo but I dont want my rolls drowning in it. I’d like to taste the actual roll first

Used to love this place. Quality has gone way down of food and staff. Took 30 minutes to get mediocre rolls

The waitstaff was amazing:) but the sushi chef was terribly slow:(took over 45 min for our food & my crunchy roll was a total let down:(more than likely won’t return:(

Picked up lunch today(spicy California roll) from the sushi bar. The food was ready exactly when they said it would be and the ladies there were very friendly. When I brought it home I was pleasantly surprised with how much food I got for the price. And it was delicious! My new favorite sushi place.

We had driven by this place countless times with nary a notice – it’s pretty unassuming on the outside! The evening we went, the place was just past half-full. We were greeted quickly and seated at the bar before we even had a chance to fully check out the décor! Our waitperson brought us menus and took our drink order right after a brief explanation of how to use the order sheets. I ended up choosing the Yummy Yummy roll and the other side of the table chose the TNT roll. We got to sit and watch the sushi chef create our dinner right in front of us. While we waited, we looked around at the simple décor and clean, tranquil color scheme(love it!). The rolls were prepared quickly, were nicely wrapped and presented, and we ended up sharing both rolls with each other. The fish was amazingly fresh, the rice was well-cooked and the veggies were crisp and colorful. The waitstaff was bustling around, taking care of business with a smile. We spent a bit longer than we normally would in Sushi Bar because it was a great and relaxing experience. The size of the restaurant is intimate, they do have a full bar and your large group will do well here. This would be a great place for a first date, or to celebrate an anniversary.

Best sushi in the downriver area, which isn’t saying much. Very expensive though and the sushi chef was very slow… I normally wouldn’t complain about a sushi chef’s slow pace, but when there’s only two or three tables that are being waited on in the whole restaurant, ourselves included, it’s a little ridiculous to wait twenty minutes for rolls. Servers are great though!

We stopped in yesterday to give this place a try. We weren’t really ready for lunch, but we make it a point to try all sushi places near us. So, we went in and gave it a try. The waiter was friendly and the décor was very cool. Very fancy. It almost looked like a fine dining establishment. We ordered the gyoza, some eel sashimi, and the Viagra Max roll. It was all very tasty. The gyoza was crunchier than I’m used to, but the gyoza sauce was superb. In fact, I even ate the garnish that came with it. The eel sashimi was exactly what you’d expect(except that they gave us an extra piece, for free, which was very nice). The Viagra Max roll was delicious. I only have one gripe. After our appetizer was finished, we stacked our plates neatly to the side, so the waiter could take them. Instead, he actually asked us to re-use them. Like really? How hard is it bring me a clean plate? Otherwise, the place was great. We will definitely be going back.

A quaint little establishment that at first might not draw a second glance, however passers by are remiss to not stop in a this place. The atmosphere is clean and simple. No over the top décor, but a nice large window that has a decent view of the downtown area. When we went it was not very busy, the waitress was friendly, and the service was fast. It’s not pretentious or fancy, but rather fairly low key. The drink menu is standard, Sapporo(a Japanese beer) is available. A good selection, but not extensive, of wines. This restaurant offers the standard sushi fare– cucumber roll, avocado roll, California roll, etc., but their specialty rolls are where they really shine. We ordered the Detroit, the Metropolitan, and the Rock and Roll. The sushi came out quick, was fresh, and full of flavor. This place is a top contender against my other sushi favorites(Ronin and Blufin) and I would recommend it to anyway looking for a reasonably priced sushi fix.

Average to above average. I go here often and it is hit and miss with the service. Sushi varies on chef and how busy they are. Can sometimes be a very long wait for food. Staff is always friendly, yet most not knowledgable about the food being served. Overall this is the best sushi in the area.

Good service. Sushi was average but portions were small and prices are high. Then they charge extra for soup. It had potential but I probably won’t be back.

Average sushi for above average prices. If you’re going to charge me so much, at least don’t make me pay $ 3.50 for a side salad. Décor and location are great though.

Seriously have not been this disappointed in a sushi bar in a very long time. First of all, all the rolls are insanely over priced. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll for $ 8.99. It came with a whopping five pieces. What a huge rip off. $ 3.50 for a tiny bowl of miso and $ 6.99 for a plain California roll. Let alone my edamame appetizer that was $ 4 that barely could serve one person. Will never ever be going back. Ever.

I really underestimated this place. This is hands down the best sushi you’ll find in Southeastern Michigan. The rolls were rolled just tight enough. The nigiri was perfect, and the sashimi tasted exactly the way it should. If I could find just one flaw of this place it would be the price, it’s pretty steep. For the quality though, I cannot complain too much.

The owner of this restaurant looks just like ****James Franco**** If that doesn’t want to make you dress up & run out there for a lady’s night, I don’t know what will. They also have live Jazz in the restaurant a few nights a week. Absolutely in LOVE with this Sushi bar. The sushi is fresh, hand made to order & always beautifully presented. My favorite rolls are: the vegetarian Golden East Roll, The crunchy roll & the dragon roll. In love with this restaurant, the wonderful staff, the expert sushi chefs & the beautiful James Franco esque Owner. I can’t wait to go back!

This is the best sushi I have ever had. Hands down. I’ve had Sushi from almost every place in Dearborn, Royal Oak, Ferndale, and Auburn Hills(I avoid chains like the plague, hence the«almost») and this was the best and most original Sushi I’ve ever had. I didn’t order the normal pedestrian rolls such as a California or a Spicy Tuna. That’s so passé’, and what everyone else ordered. I looked at the menu and I wanted to see what original rolls this place had and I was absolutely not disappointed. I ordered both a Beauty and the Beast Roll(Bar-b-Que, Eel, Avocado, Crab Stick, Topped With Eel, Tuna, Red And Black Caviar Rolled With Rice And Seaweed.) and the Georgia On My Mind Roll(Yellowtail Asparagus, Cream Cheese, Avocado Topped With Yellowtail, Avocado, Topped With Yellowtail, Avocado, Green Caviar And Scallion, Rolled With Rice And Seaweed.) Both were packed so delicately, yet firmly, with the most choice cuts of Eel and Yellowtail respectively. The flavors were so subtle, you could taste each of the Caviars, the Eel Sauce, and the fish so brightly. The items were perfectly paired so you get the full effect of each. It was magnificent. It’s simply a must try if you’re having sushi in the metro Detroit area.

Im not sure how this place is in terms of meatatarian sushi, but their vegetarian sushi, at least on this night, was very lackluster and overpriced. I dont usually write too many reviews as a vegetarian going to a sushi place, but i was really excited to try this place out as its near where i work, and was let down, unfortunately. I ordered the plain fashion roll and the golden east roll because they looked exciting, and what i got was something that looked like 7 dollars of sushi for 18 bucks. First off, the plain fashion roll was missing 3 ingredients! no tomato, asparagus, or oshinko to be found, but they added some carrots in, so i basically paid 8 bucks for a carrot avocado cucumber roll with a couple leafs of lettuce, the same roll at a place like noble fish would have cost about 3.25 and been as filling and better tasting. I wasnt notified at all that these three ingredients were missing, Secondly, my golden east roll had only 3 ingredients other than the seaweed and rice, as it too was missing the asparagus. for 7 dollars i was expecting again a much better roll, but at least this one was a little tasty(just no asparagus crunch that i love in sushi!) The décor seemed nice, and the service was friendly, but i expected a lot more for 16 than what was delivered.
