Have been going here for a while and food has always been great. The Chicken Fra Diavlo is amazing if you love spice and pesto. The bread dipping oil is delicious. The steak pizzaiola is melt in your mouth tender with plenty of food. My mouth is watering just writing this review. You would definitely underestimate this place based on the exterior, but inside is cozy, the food is great and the staff has always been friendly and obliging.

Great meal large portions. Like a touch of home cooking. Loved the shrimp and pasta, taste was great. Friendly service. Tiramisu was delicious!!! If you’re in the area try it.

What is going on here? The staff has become downright nasty. We stopped going for a while, came back and it was a completely different environment. People we thought we knew were absolutely awful. Not one, but all. We can’t bring ourselves to go back. A word to the owner — your customers can hear everything going on in the bar. Not a private space.

Wife and I «dined» there tonight. Ordered a bottle of white wine(which came out cool at best, not chilled), an appetizer(risotto balls), and two entrees. The appetizer came out and was cold in the middle, so we sent it back. Came out a second time, STILLCOLD. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

We went there with a Groupon because we had heard how good it was. The waitress had an attitude from the start. The dish I wanted she said I couldn’t get with the Groupon. The food was very ordinary and the service was awful. At the end of the meal as we were walking out I commented on how good the dish I had wanted looked and she said, Oh you wanted that? You could have gotten that. I think she might have thought that people with Groupons don’t tip on the full amount(we always tip well). Giving her the benefit of the doubt. There’s so much Italian food around, why would anyone go there for abuse by the wait staff and very mediocre food?

As much as I would like to review the food, unfortunately that isn’t possible. Their website says they close at 10pm and when we arrived at 9:28pm we were greeted by the lit up OPEN sign in the window. However, we were quickly informed that the kitchen closes at 9:30 and everything was shut off because it was 9:35.(My phone said differently…9:28) Nope…not serving your party of 6. Not even going to be nice about it. Go away… Well we did, and won’t bother coming back. PS… You probably need to update your website that you actually close at 9:28.

Nice local atmosphere, decent prices and average quality. We both ordered chicken marsala from the $ 10 mid week menu. The portions are large enough but the chicken was and overall kind of salty. This dish normally features chicken breast that is pounded thin, making it tender. Unfortunately, this was not done so the result was white meat chicken that was kind of tough and dry. Plenty of fresh mushrooms and linguini pasta that was al dente… something that saves this dish from being a total disaster. Give it a try but keep your expectations realistic. This is NOT gourmet quality but rather pedestrian. Great for an inexpensive night on the town… Nothing more, nothing less.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal for a party of 9 last night. This was a first time visit for all of us. It was Good Friday so we were looking for some tasty seafood and we were not let down! The seafood was fresh and perfectly prepared with traditional italian sauces red or white. The non fish eaters enjoyed a perfect chicken parm dish. The bread and dip served before and throughout the meal was excellent and so was the service! Luckily I love Unilocal and read the reviews and found this hidden gem! I pleasantly surprised my guests with this spot housed in this Italian neighborhood they grew up visiting. Keep those review coming folks!!!

Great food, cozy atmosphere, and unbeatable prices. The 10 $ meals Tue-Thur are an incredible value with a variety of options. The lasagna was really tasty and complimented by their homemade marinara sauce. The portion was huge and I easily took ½ of it home. My husband got the chicken/gnocchi gorgonzola, which was excellent!!! Although the portion once again was enough for leftovers, he loved it so much there was not much to spare. Other than the tiny amount he shared with me, he finished every bite!!! You wont be sorry if you order this dish.(Although not a choice on the 10 $ menu) Also a nice red wine list with decent options at a reasonable price to compliment the meal. Definitely would recommend this place and will be back for sure!

This is our favorite restaurant in Worcester and beyond. We always split an antipasto salad and one of us orders the pork tenderloin because it’s so tasty! The mash potatoes are worth the trip alone. The wait staff makes you feel right at home.

Usually gets pretty busy. But they take reservations. Don’t be fooled by looks from the outside, cz it is an amazing place inside. Feels like being back in an Italian suburban restaurant. Service is quick. Food is good and if u r looking for a cute romantic date then this might be the surprise package.

Excellent Italian food! We went here initially because someone gave us a Groupon, but have returned because it was delicious! I got the chicken gorgonzola both times I went(I think I was dreaming about it’s deliciousness after I got it the first time…). Also wonderful calamari appetizer. It is away from the main area of restaurants in Worcester and doesn’t look much from the outside(«we’re here… «, «this is it?») but inside it was cute and had a great ambiance. VERYGOODITALIANFOOD. I have been here when it was quiet, and when there were many people. Service was friendly and attentive both times. Oh yeah, delcious Italian desserts as well… especially the cannoli :)

Although it pains me to write this review I HADTO. I first went to Chioda’s about a year ago and I had the best experience possible. The place is small and intimate and our waitress was personable, sweet and informative. My date had the chicken Alfredo and I had the chicken calabrese. It was the first time I had chicken calabrese and it was to die for. A sweet and savory combination of chicken, pasta, pine nuts and raisins. It may sound nuts(pun intended) to some but the combination is really good. My date was also very happy with his chicken Alfredo. It had just the right amount of sauce, a huge heap of pasta and lots of chicken. Overall, we vowed to come again! Fast forward a year later and a Groupon offer that reminded us of our love of Chioda’s. We went there and it was a bit empty but no matter because we were excited to be back! We ordered the same dishes as before with a calamari appetizer. My date kept repeating his order and saying how he always gets the same thing and how much he loves the chicken Alfredo from there. We waited a while for the calamari but it was worth it! Very good! When she came with our entrées she got my dates order wrong! We were shocked because she took no accountability and actually tried to blame him for her mistake! Hey lady, how about you apologize for your own lack of memory?! We both were frustrated and mad. Not only that when he finally got his chicken Alfredo with was a soupy mess. It’s like they just creamed the ish out of the sauce and dumped it all in. We were both very disappointed with the service and food. We will not be going there again.

Great small Italian restaurant. Also has 10 meals for $ 10 T — Th for dinner. Food was very good, prices on menu super reasonable(and that is not including the 10 for $ 10). Chioda’s made the list.

Very underwhelmed. The calamari was cooked very well but a little over top spice wise. Veal saltin Bocca(sp?) was ok, a bit bland, a bit chewy. The Gorgonzola gnocchi was tasty, but almost too rich. Eat this in mid august and your heart will seize the minute you leave the air conditioning! Was very optimistic upon arrival as bread and oil was great. I think I’ll give it another try though.

This place was AMAZING! Our food was delicious and the staff was great! We live just under an hour away and it is worth the drive. We met here with another couple and had some of the best service. My husband had the veil and it was cooked to perfection! I had the chicken calabrese and I never had anything like it. The flavors were absolutely amazing and the chicken was so moist and tender. The portions were really good too. I had to take some home but even the next day reheated it was excellent. For desert we shared a cannoli and the shell was so fresh and the filling was some of the best I ever had. We will certainly be going back. Well worth the drive!

Small hole in the wall with authentic Italian food. Growing up in an Italian household, I am very picky about this type of food. Being a vegetarian, it makes it even harder to be satisfied by Italian food out. We went to Chioda’s last night with our 2 year old daughter, and it was fantastic. We had arancini balls, and they were fantastic. Clearly home made and fresh. We also had eggplant parmigiana and cavatelli with broccoli. Our daughter had ziti and a meatball that she enjoyed. Both adult meals were — by far — the best I’ve had in Worcester in terms of meals I could eat. They were both actually probably better than what I’ve had in the North End as well. The service was very friendly and we will definitely be back soon.

This is a little gem of a place, a bit off the beaten track but not hard to find. We’ve eaten here three or four times now, and have been very happy with both the food and the service. The restaurant has a nice ambience to it, too, so as you walk in from the dusty Franklin St parking lot, you ‘re immediately pleased by the low lighting, well spaced tables, and simple but tasteful décor. Most recently I’ve had the sausage cacciatore and the chicken gorgonzola, both excellent and preceded by very good bread. Good Italian dining at a very reasonable price.

8 months later and the hostess still had to think about where to seat us and finally decided after 5 minutes. I ordered the shrimp fra diablo. Do not waste your time. It is not what was listed on the menu and I could not eat it. It was not and oil and garlic base. It was marinara. It had no tomatoes and did not have red peppers. It had crushed red pepper. If you could get past the marinara then you have the crushed pepper. If was the only thing you could taste. This is the worst meal I have ever had. The water tasted like sewer. Staff was slow and unattentive.
