I wanted to try a new breakfast place so I decided to stop here. Walked in and there was no one to greet us. We stood there wondering if we should seat ourselves or continue to wait. We chose to wait and finally someone popped out. She went to put us in a booth that was dirty so she moved us to another booth which was also a little dirty but covered the spot up with my husbands silverware. We ordered our food OMG. The biscuits were microwaved, the gravy canned, the hash browns raw, the sausage links greasy with NOTASTE I’m sure was also microwaved. My husbands omelette was very over cooked and brown. The pancakes were hard like they were also heated up and the orange juice watered down. I didn’t complain I just paid my bill and left. No need to Tell them something they already know. I guess we should of just stayed at Egg Harbor in Naperville. It’s wonderful.

Just an FYI — the Baker’s Square in Woodridge does not serve alcohol. Not even beer and wine. I like having wine with my dinner, so I haven’t been back since they stopped serving alcohol. The food is decent and the pies are great so maybe I’ll go for breakfast or lunch sometime.

Have to say John the manager is one of the best customer service people I have dealt with. Some of those 4 star restaurants could learn from him.

Pretty standard food but who comes for that? We all go for the desserts and their pies are about as good as it gets. Try Wednesday’s when you can get a free piece of pie with your meal.

Decent food, absolutely slow service. Like terribly terribly slow. If you order something — order everything because you’re lucky to see the server again, except of course to bring the check.

This place is definitely not as good on its waiting staff as it used to be, but the food is still good.

I’ve been here a few times. Good menu. They serve breakfast all day and have great deserts. Excellent service, clean, good food.

The pies are still great at Baker’s Square. And I’ve generally found the service to be good in the last year or so. But, I’m noticing a decline in the lunch/dinner entrees. The food is alright, but it used to be good. Last Saturday(7−18−15), we had a chicken breast and a chopped steak entrée. They were both OK, but not great. The green beans were kind of mushy. It was disappointing, because their green beans and other seasonable vegetables have usually been fresh and well prepared. It just seems that over the last year or two, entrees and side dishes have seen a gradual decline, while other chain restaurants have been improving the food on their lunch/dinner menus. Admittedly, we ate a bit early on Saturday, so the restaurant wasn’t full. But, we left around 6:15, and the place wasn’t as full for a Saturday evening as I remembered in the past. Still, if you just want dessert, or you need a whole pie to go, this is the place.

Pieeee, how I’ve missed you! We came for a few slices of deliciousness after dinner. We were warmly greeted, seated, and told that so-and-so would be over shortly. We waited… and waited… and considered leaving, actually. We were one of three parties in one part of the dining area at 9pm on a Friday. Our server finally DID come by, thankfully, but«inattentive» was the overarching theme of the night: we ran out of both coffees and waters well before she came back, and by that time we had pretty much finished our pie. Before we ordered, I asked about allergen information, and our waitress brought us a binder. We looked everything up, which is fine. When she brought our pies out, she was sure to mention that she«took great care cutting(my male +1’s) pie» but not mine. ?? Funny. He had a Lemon and I had the French Silk. My pie was fine(rich), but it would have been nice to have enough liquids with which to wash it down. To sum: Pie was good. Service was not. I wonder if you can get slices To Go.

Husband and I were craving desserts so we stopped in for some Strawberry Crepes($ 3.59) and French Apple Cream Cheese A La Mode($ 5.08). Maybe it was because it was at 10pm at night and the ingredients are no longer fresh but I felt a bit disappointed. The taste of both deserts just didn’t live up to my expectations. The crêpe was not fluffy but more doughy texture– almost like it wasn’t cooked long enough or maybe it was stale. And the pie was okay, crème cheese was about heavier but just not spectacular. Over all, our dessert stop just didn’t feel like fireworks. We felt like maybe we should have went to a yogurt or ice-cream place instead. Or maybe next time we should just come here earlier in the day instead of so late. At least the service was nice and friendly so I did enjoy that…

Nice sit down restaurant with comfort food options. Combos with piece of pie are the best choice. Plenty of pie options, they’re not as sweet as other grocery stores or restaurants but I’ve had better pies. Good choice if you’ve sweet tooth.

We stopped in after a birthday party for some dinner and pie. I had the pick three;. I chose the sandwich, soup, and pie. I’m a huge fan of Pumpkin pie, so I had to have the pick three. It a pretty good deal, the pie seals the deal! I’m not a baker, so I would say Bakers Square is one of the best for Pumpkin pie and they have THREE version… wow!

I love their breakfast! It’s great, and the portions are always so large that I need to take 1⁄3 to half of my food home. The pie is always amazing, obviously. I feel that the food is reasonably priced, as well.

I’m not a fan of restaurants that allow solicitors to walk around and try to sell you things(even if it is «gratuity-based»). This balloon lady came by, targeting my 9-year-old son, who was all happy with his laser gun balloon(so I reluctantly paid her a gratuity with a smile and a thank you), but can say with 100% certainty that’s not a place I’d revisit. Unless, of course, they get rid of any solicitors, for the food and service were fine(nothing special though, but a solid three stars, good value for what you get). And on Wednesdays, you get free pie… but that’s the day the balloon lady works, so nothing is really free, is it? Food, service, etc.: +3 stars. Balloon lady: –1 star. Free pie: +1 star.

This location used to be a Max & Irma’s and was quite lovely inside. It was much fancier than we were expecting, with a fireplace, plush décor and a really nice atmosphere. The food is good. Nothing spectacular, but there’s a good selection and a few healthy options sprinkled throughout the menu. I had kind of a forgettable grilled chicken with vegetables dish because I was trying to eat healthy(every day but Saturday!). It was tasty and filling. No complaints. The large group I was with all seemed satisfied with their food orders and our waitress kept the drinks refilled, was super friendly and didn’t balk at our request for separate checks. No complaints from me. Thanks for a nice evening. I’m sure our group will return.

I’ve never been wildly bowled over by Bakers Square. It’s by no means my first choice but my six year old son is quite the pie junkie, so on a recent trek to his doctor’s office, we stopped in. When I was little, my parents used to frequent the Bakers in Palos Heights, so I have fond memories of the restaurant simply on the basis of nostalgia. I remember that restaurant to the letter. Meandering into this location, I was floored by how classy and inviting it looked. Definitely on the«upper» end of the Bakers Square establishments, at least in this general area. I mean, it was really, really nice. Surprisingly nice. We were seated almost immediately(they were steady-busy but not slammed) and within moments of removing our coats, our server was already at our table, requesting our drink order and asking if we’d like to start with an appetizer. From that moment on, the meal was smooth sailing. While I don’t recall the food being mind-blowing, the service certainly was. And, as previously mentioned, so was the environment. While I can’t say I’d wake up in the night craving this place, I certainly wouldn’t balk at the thought of returning, either. The restaurant was also really, really clean. Having worked at a chain restaurant during my late high school/early college years, this is something of which I take particular note. My son maintains to this day that, in his six years of life, it was one of the best pie experiences he’s enjoyed, so that’s gotta count for something too, no? If you’re in need of lunch in the Woodridge area, I highly doubt you’ll be disappointed with this Bakers Square location. Give it a whirl, and if you’re willing to take my six year old’s word for it, you simply cannot go wrong with a slice of Oreo pie. :)

My husband and I stopped in last Sunday after church for dinner. We were glad to have a Baker’s Square in Woodridge, fairly convenient for us. We had been before to this location and enjoyed the food, while the service had been alright. Last Sunday was a service and kitchen disaster! When we came in, the place was packed but for some reason they closed off the section on the west side of the restaurant completely. We were seated fairly soon after we arrived. Our server just did not show up! Not to take a drink order or even greet us, she was just MIA! Finally she came over and took our order. We had been ready to order for a good 10 – 15 minutes prior.(Menus closed and looking for our server.) She took the order and then the waiting began. W A I T I N G! No kidding we waited about 25 minutes for our food to come out. Eventually a food runner brought out our food, and there were some things missing. My roll was not included, and my husband’s cranberry sauce was not there. We began to try to find our server, or anyone that we could get their attention. No luck, we didn’t even have silverware! The really weird thing was that when our server delivered our drinks, she gave us each a napkin but no silverware, so she knew even then that we would need some. The food was fairly good once everything had been sorted out. No one ever came to check on us, or ask how the food was. Our server was just gone. Even the hostess was trying to answer questions and take the order for the table next to us. I don’t understand what was going on that day, but somewhere along the line our server should have apologized, and checked on us. We are always 20% tippers. We gave her a begrudging 15%, but I don’t even think she deserved that. We were extremely disappointed! So much so, that 5 days later, I’m still unhappy about it. Come on Baker’s Square you can do much better than that!
