I love to come hear! To tell you the truth I am hear because of Lisa, Kelly and Alison, who I followed from other salon. They are very professional, trendy and won’t miss a thing! Lisa is colour specialist. Kelly and Alison hair stylists. It’s my first recommendations if someone asks for it!

Went in for a haircut and color. Forgot the name of the person who cut my hair, but the colorist was Lisa. When I first went red(years ago) colorists knew from redheads or auburn, but now I see it’s more a blue red or copper red. I agree there was miscommunication as to the shade, but it was clear that I wanted it lighter. Color ended up as a mix of mousy orange and mousy brown. For the haircut, I asked for a medium angled length haircut with layers; didn’t get angles or layers. My fault, I tipped, paid and left. I did return to resolve the issue; this time I came with a picture of me that showed the hair color I had and wanted again. I also said I wanted it all red, but she kept saying some brown had to be there(don’t know why). I made sure she understood I wanted the color lighter and bold. It ended up darker than my original hair color and terrible. Also, most of the color came from a mask she applied before washing my hair, and that color washed out in the shower within two days. Paid about $ 125 for the cut, color and tips and now I have to pay to have someone else do it the right way. Don’t exactly have that kind of money to throw away.

The front desk girl was very friendly and so was the rest of the staff. The girl that washed my hair(Laura?) was great and so was my stylists/colorist Mina, who did a beautiful color on my hair! Mina is there Sun, Mon and Friday and I was able to get her on the same day appointment. And will definitely go back to her. The salon is the best in the area. It’s nice, spacious on the inside and the products they retail are great.

I had a great massage by Ana, I had some back pain because I basically sit at a desk for 10 hours a day and my alignment is so off at this point. I just had a standard 1 hour massage that normally goes for $ 90. The massage was great every kinks were gone, I didn’t have any pain the next few days. i felt rejuvenated. The actual spa experience itself I was underwhelmed. I’ve been spoiled from my other experiences. Past massage and spa experiences I was given a robe, brought to a hot tub prior. I went to a local place and even had scented massage oils and advised to drink lots of water and had a choice of different flavored spa water. I agree customer service seemed just meh. Pay for your service and go. There was no appreciation and lacked professionalism.

Bottom line: If all goes well, Cheveux Day Spa is a nice place that can give you great massages, but if there are any mistakes on THEIR end, you’ll be at a loss and be left with their snobbery because there is no real customer service here. Last year I had a wonderful massage at this spa. It left me feeling soothed, calm and in a dream. That prompted me to buy myself a gift card to the spa, so I could treat myself to a few more massages there. It is now a year later and I regret that purchase, and am shocked by the unprofessionalism and lack of customer service shown by the manager. I scheduled a hot stone massage, which I was looking forward to for months. Unlike the last time, when I sat in the waiting room 20 minutes early, there wasn’t anyone at the desk of the spa. I was not asked to fill out any paperwork or greeted in any way by the spa staff. A few minutes after my scheduled appointment I was ushered into the room by a nice woman, who was to be my masseuse. The massage began, but the hot stones never came out. I assumed after a few minutes the masseuse would use them, and waited eagerly… but that never happened. By the time I realized I was not going to be given a hot stone massage, a good amount of time had passed and I felt uncomfortable saying something at that point. I hoped the massage would be enjoyable, and it was fine, but not something I enjoyed or would pay $ 90 for. The masseuse was nice, I don’t fault her, but it certainly isn’t my fault that I was not given the service that I scheduled. I specifically scheduled a hot stone massage because that is what I wanted. I dislike Swedish massages and find myself bored. When the massage was over, I spoke to the people at the desk and explained what happened. I never asked for a refund, but assumed I would be given an apology and a discounted(or possibly complimentary) massage so that I could be given the massage I wanted in the future(and remain a happy and loyal customer). The desk people were very kind and nice, and acknowledged that the computer DID indicate I scheduled a hot stone massage and were unsure why I wasn’t given one. After waiting for 30 minutes, I was told the manager refused to acknowledge their error or do much of anything to make up for it. I obviously asked to speak to him, and was shocked by his cold and arrogant attitude. Rather than apologize for their mistake or offer any substantial discount, he accused ME of being the cause of the error by not stopping the massage mid-way through and speaking to his masseuse. I explained the reason for my hesitation, and reminded him that the computer clearly shows that I specified a hot stone massage, but he again pointed fingers at me explaining that while I did NOT receive the service I asked for, I still received a service. After arguing for some time he offered to give me a $ 10 discount on a hot stone massage NEXT time, and charged me $ 90(the cost of a Swedish massage) rather than $ 100(the cost of a hot stone massage), but if this spa valued its customers at all, its manager would have apologized and offered a more realistic discount. I wish I didn’t have to go back there, but unfortunately I still have a card with money on it. The desk staff and masseuse were very nice, but the manager’s lack of concern and snobby attitude turned what was supposed to be a well deserved day at the spa, into an experience that makes me regret having chosen this place.

I have been going to this salon since it first opened and originally followed my long time colorist Adriano there but now use about every service they offer from nails, to blow outs and massages. Anyone who lives in the five towns knows that hair is taken SERIOUSLY, including myself and this is why I would not let anyone color my hair besides Adriano since I was 15 years old, yea, you heard me. Now I am nearing 30 btw! In any event, all of the girls there give fabulous blowout s and better than anywhere in NYC. I live in NYC and I can’t understand why no one can give me a blow out like the girls do in Long Island, its bizarre. Everyone in the city blows hair down and flat and I can NOT have that. Lauren, Linda, Nicole and Maria are all excellent stylists. Now, let’s talk nails… Jennette and Carol are both excellent manicurists. I have very high standards when it comes to who I will allow to do my mani/pedis and they are clean, professional and shape my nails perfectly. Can’t beat that! Lastly, I had THE best massage of my life the day before my wedding from Jen. I work in the spa industry and have had many massages, from cheap to luxury and she was by far the best.

The nail technicians are the best! I have known them for many years and look forward to seeing them every week! The salon is very lucky to have Janette, Tami and Carol! Not only do I get the very best manicure, it’s always a fun experience being on their little platform in the salon!
