Sad to see this place close. I wasn’t a regular but it had it’s perks. The owners were wonderfully friendly and happy to please and serve you. Everyone is right, the brisket was good!!! Maybe they just needed a better location.

This is a little known gem with the best Kosher food ever! The family cooks for you, serves you, and delights you while doing so. You do not want to miss this little wonderful place. You will NOT be disappointed!

This is a nondescript little place in the corner of a strip mall that is overshadowed by a Cables diner, but if you overlook it, it is your loss. Don’t be turned off by the lack of food in the display case and don’t be turned off by the few tables. There will be room for you, and they will make everything on the menu. I don’t recall seeing baba ganoush on the menu, but they have it every time I have been there and it is great. The chicken shwarma is the best I’ve had and the falafel plate is fantastic. The chicken thighs are good, too. I cannot say enough good things about this place.

Stopped by for a quick lunch and took some cold salads and a boureka to go — all were delicious! Especially the mushroom boureka. I can’t wait to come back and try some of their hot food.

Called for lunch pick up last week to get a falafel plate and hummus. A young woman answered the phone, I asked for a falafel plate, she said ok, I asked for a side of hummus, she said«we don’t have sides of hummus, we have a hummus plate for $ 9. ME: no I really just want a side ill never eat the whole plate. HER: NO she said. We can’t do that. ME: well your menu says you have hummus by the pound. So can I have a ¼ lb of hummus HER: NO we don’t have hummus for that ME: but you have hummus for the hummus plates HER: yes we do ME: ok well that means you do have hummus but anyway I’ll get the plate, does that come with Piet bread HER: yes one piece ME: that’s all for $ 9 just one piece. Ok can I have extra pita please HER: NO we don’t have enough pita to do that. ME: I’ll be happy to pay for it HER: NO we only have so much pita bread for the day so we can only give one piece for each order ME: REALLY aren’t you a Mediterranean resturant? HER: yes we are Ok so I get maybe they aren’t that busy and only have so much pita but hummus and pita should be the #1 thing you keep in stock. And if i owned this place i would have said yes to the customer and then i would have gone out and got more pita for the rest of the night. And i would have made more hummus to be able to accomidate my customers request to have a side of hummus. I was willing to pay $ 9 for the umm us but not without pita bread. It’s place was good but not that good. What happened to Customer Service? So I went to a place down the street in the Ross parking lot on Ventura and Tampa where they gave me 6 pieces of pita without charging extra and a side of hummus. They were nice and the food was good.

I almost don’t want to write this review because this place is getting more and more popular by the minute. Selfishly I would like to keep this my little hidden gem but they deserve the recognition! For me to say the food is amazing is an understatement! That woman can cook!!! Everything I’ve had is mouth watering! The chicken skewers, the green beans (the seasoning on them is sooooo good) the pulled beef brisket is to die for and lets not forget those UNBELIEVABLE french fries!(not your average boring fries. They are a MUST have! This place is family owned and they take such pride in their food and it shows!

This place is truly a gem. I came with some co-workers for a birthday lunch and was not disappointed at all. Everyone was incredibly friendly, and suzie came out and introduced to our table. I ordered the shawarma because the bbq brisket(which was what I wanted to order) wasn’t ready yet(and wouldn’t be ready for 40 minutes). The food was absolutely delicious and the complimentary olives were addicting. As we were ending our meal, Suzie came out with a plate of bbq brisket and said happy birthday! That type of service and quality of food will be why I will definitely return!

The food here is awesome. Seems very family oriented in the front and back. Its Kosher, but seems more of Moroccan although their food is not solely Morroccan. Its been awhile since I ate here but I did have the spicy brisket sandwich. Its as decadent as it sounds. Juicy, meaty and enough spice to take notice. We also had some burekas which were very tasty. Enjoy.

Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. Just some of the most amazing food I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. After the wife & I finished, all we said was, «Wow! When can we go again?»

Love this gem!!! Staff is EXTREMELY friendly. Do yourself a favor and order the mint lemonade hand squeezed by Susie with love. It is so, SO refreshing! I got tuna salad on French bread and I couldn’t believe how light it was… I could have sworn there was no mayo in it, though apparently there was a teeny bit. We will definitely return next time we are in town!

Susie’s Deli-cious is my kind of restaurant! The owners are friendly & open, the food is absolutely delicious, and the ambiance is modern & comfortable! Traveling through the area, we Unilocaled somewhere for lunch & decided to try something new — Susie’s. It had a Unilocal deal which made it even more enticing on top of its current 4.5 star Unilocal rating! We sat down and started talking to the owners, Susie & her husband. We tried to order some meat & dairy together which prompted her husband to tell us, «Let me show you how to eat.» I love that — the openness to not look down on people because they’re not familiar with the culture, but to be gracious and teach the newbies the proper way to enjoy something. And enjoy we did! We started with some savory pastries, which I really recommend as a quick snack or delicious appetizer, and Turkish coffee. Both so yummy & satisfying! Then we moved on to our entrées — we shared the BBQ Brisket Sandwich, which Susie made spicy per our preference(which she kindly asked), as well as the salmon dish which was so fresh and flavorful. Both dishes were outstandingly delicious, and so different! I would definitely stop by again the next time we’re in the area — we only tried two entrées which were amazing and led me to wonder how fresh, delicious, & unique the rest of the dishes Susie makes are!

BBQ brisket sandwich was delicious as we’re the fries and pinenut hummus. Very friendly service! I wish I had noticed they had Turkish coffee, have to try that next time.

What a great little jem in woodland hills. Great food, great service, I felt like mom was behind the kitchen cooking.

After reading all the rave reviews and receiving a high recommendation from a chef friend, I decided to check out the BBQ Brisket sandwich for lunch. All I can say is that if you enjoy sugar coated meat on top of a dense baguette then this is the place to get it. Whatever happened to the toasted baguette everyone claims to have enjoyed went out the window. I don’t know if the cook was having an off day, but even the cole slaw was a miss.

I tried this place in search of a new local place to eat because we were sick of all the stuff nearby the office. We both tried the BBQ brisket sandwich… amazing. It’s up there with my mom’s brisket and I’ve never said that before about anybody’s brisket. When we came in and were the only people here, we wondered why, but we couldn’t figure it out. I’ve only been here the one time and have been meaning to come back; I’d like to try something else but at the same time I already found whats good :)

I have visited Susie’s Deli twice. The first time was for a take-out sandwich. The second was for a sit-down lunch. I would not have come back for a second visit had the first one not been so great! The deli sandwiches are delicious and plentiful, as is the Schwarma Plate. This is a good, well-priced restaurant that deserves our support and return business!

I can’t believe it took nine months to find this great place, I am sorry it has been hiding. I will go back a lot… We had a five plate salad, spicy eggplant, tuna, beet salad and more and the best Pita I have ever had! I will be telling all my friends… It is in the Cables Parking lot in case anyone wants to know

**********Suzie’s Deli’s MOP(Meal in One Pic)******* *********************************************************** This new place opened in March and should become one of the true Ventura boulevard’s HIDDEN gems. I Capitalize hidden because if you don’t know where you are going you are never going to stop by Suzies while driving down the boulevard. It is at the left end corner of the parking on the north side of Ventura boulevard right after De Soto. It serves a a fusion of middle eastern, isreali, Mediterranean food. The owner is the chef, and she cooks and bakes great and fresh dishes. It is a great place for lunch with outdoor sitting far enough from Ventura that it feels quiet and peaceful. Inside the colors are inviting and the kitchen looks pristine. The owner cares about the food and the plating as well. All the plates are modern looking from the small salad dishes to the curvy large plates. The food is fresh, and the restaurant may run out of some of the popular items but this is the price for success and freshness. BBQ brisket sandwich on baguette A fantastic sandwich!!! The baguette bread is great. It is crunchy one the outside and soft on the inside. It comes with tons of pulled brisket meat seasoned in a spicy middle eastern sauce with hints of BBQ flavors. The level of spice can be adjusted when the dish is ordered. Each bite if full of strong flavors, and it is a mountain of meat!!! The meat is tasty and nicely cooked, caramelized onions are mixed with the meat. Get it with some fresh salad to taste the full greatness of Suzie’s Fries Good simple seasoned fires. The serving is small which is great as the sandwiches are pretty large. Roasted eggplant salad, Babaganoush, olives, and pita bread Complimentary olives are always a source of enjoyment. The roasted eggplant was full of flavor and add a nice texture. The eggplant skin was not too thick and every bite was tender. The babaganoush was creamy and smoky. The homemade pitas are the fluffy kind. Apple Strudel A simple homemade apple strudel with fresh apple and fresh butter sugar flour crumble cake at the top. The flavors are great, not too sugary, no cinnamon overlead, great apples, and a little price on top of it!!! Turkish Coffee. Strong turkish coffee done right. The perfect way to end your meal. Everytime you are in the area, drive down the parking lot to the left end corner to enjoy some homemade delicious food.

I randomly stopped in here since my car was getting its oil changed right next door. It was a small, very cute place. I was their only customer and their credit card machine had apparently not been working that morning. i ordered the falafel wrap. It was very delicious!!!
