Excellent customer service! Great deals on everything! We didn’t have a coupon, but the sweet cashier used an additional 20% off on our purchase. «I’m eventually going to get fired one day» she giggled.

Fast friendly service. Used a 50% off coupon I received on my smartphone. Great deal!

We used to be Michael’s regulars — NOTANYMORE! During a recent military move, one of our display cases was broken. We required a relatively small piece of glass to fix the damage. We went to several places and got quotes. Michaels wanted over $ 200 and two weeks to replace a small piece of glass. In addition, they refused to honor the 60% off coupon unless we bought a frame too as a piece of glass wasn’t «specialty framing.» Of course you couldn’t apply any other discount as those were for the rest of the store — not«specialty framing,» See the inconsistency in their policies? A real rip off in my opinion, as it is apparent they charge you for an entire sheet of glass then resell the unused portions to others for full price. If you need replacement glass, go to Trustworthy Glass. These gentlemen gave us the best price — $ 13.50 for the same size and quality that Michaels wanted over $ 200 for! And by the way, if you want attitude or snide comments go to Michaels — if you want honest, friendly, quick and helpful service go with Trustworthy Glass. As recent returnees to the MN area — definitely recommend Trustworthy Glass for all your small or large glass needs! As military vets, we recommend Trustworthy Glass over Michaels to any military member needing glass for display or trophy cases.

Use these guys for all of our framing needs. Good selection and framers are skilled. Can’t say anything about the rest of the store since I never go there for anything else. Never pay anything more than 40%-60% off… as they always have coupons. Even if you don’t have one, ask them, and they will usually have one available for when your framing project is done(usually takes 2 weeks). Believe they also honor expired coupons.

It’s better than it’s competitor, but that’s not saying much! I need a roll of magnets! Why I signed up for the craft portion of this committee I’m on, I can’t figure out. I went to another craft store recently because is was closer to me in search of these magnets. See other review. I walked into Michael’s and asked the cashier if they had rolls of the magnets. She was the cashier so I give her a pass, she pointed me directly to where I needed to go. I found what I needed and at over a $ 1 cheaper I bought them. Here are my issues with Michael’s —(a) they were not staffed. 2 cashiers and no one on the sales floor, or no one I could find to help me.(b) the cashiers were very unprofessional looking — messy and washed out black shirts and no name tag. I typically get swayed by the retro candy and $ 1 section, but I was in a hurry. I’ve decorated some of my home with miscellaneous items from Michael’s, but this not my favorite location.

This is not a mecca for knitters. I knew that walking in. But I had never been to this Michael’s and I had hope and my 40% off one regular price item coupon firmly in hand. Sadly Michael’s let me down. The cotton wash cloth yarn was on sale but was so picked over that I think I actually owned more(in variety if not quantity) than they had. The other yarns that were on sale were severely depleted. I have found this to be true at other Michael’s as well and have pretty much stopped being lured in by their ads since it only brings me yarn sadness. The selection of needles was fairly standard for a Michael’s, no Double Point’s but a fair variety in the more popular straight needles and some circulars. Since the needles and yarn let me down I thought I would get a book with my 40% off coupon(I was hoping for Luxury One Skein Wonders… no luck with that.) but I couldn’t find a book or booklet I wanted and I ended up grabbing the newest issue of Interweave Knits and headed for the checkout. When I got to the register the cashier cringed and told me that they no longer take their coupon on books and magazines. WHAT!!! Since when??? She was apologetic and explained that they don’t even let the employees have that discount anymore. Ugh. Not being able to use a coupon on books or magazines is pretty much the last straw for me for Michael’s. Maybe if I take up scrap-booking or something I will be back — but for now I just think it’s a waste of time to shop there.
