My friend and I love this place. Recently we drove all the way to Woodbury to eat here, but we’re surprised when we got there to see that they were closed for a kitchen remodel. There is no indication of their temporary closure on the website, and the phone just keeps ringing when you call. It would be nice if they had a message on the website or a voicemail on the phone to save people the trip. Great food, but feeling very inconvenienced.

Went there yesterday for lunch… first off don’t forget to bring sanitizer since the menus are disgustingly gross and sticky! That container they brought our salsa out in had dried crud on on the top of it where you would pour it out… eewww. Ordered the beef chimmy and it was full of everything but the beef. You can get better Mexican food at Taco Bell and that’s not saying a lot but at least you’re getting what you pay for.

THEYHAVE«FLAUTAS » YAY Was here for a Ladies Lunch, and was compelled to order off the daily special menu, like the other girls. Oops. Our very reasonably priced taco salads were so small that we were all still hungry. We were on the lovely patio, but I had to go inside to track down our waiter to order our table a fried ice cream. It hit the spot, and was good for this far up north. Not exactly like the ones in AZ, but close. The interior will wake you up if you are sleepy. Not because of the noise, but because of the LOUD primary colors of Mexico. Holy Guacamole. One wall is blue, another bright pink, another one green… accckkkk… And brightly painted parrots, the booths are all wild colors, and on and on. Not exactly like most Mexican Restaurants! Pleasantly different. While the menu has ordinary south of the border selections, there were a couple that caught my eye for future reference. They included: Pork Flautas Shrimp Quesadillas Shrimp enchilada and some sort of Banana Dessert and a couple other seafood items I hope the standard menu entrees are larger portions than the lunch special !! If I could give it zero stars I totally would! The food was tasteless and that’s what Mexican food should be all about… FLAVOR! I will NEVER go back! And on top of it all, it was more expensive than our normal Mexican place.

I really like that there’s a location in Woodbury, it’s just really hidden! My GPS had us wind around until we were in a very small parking lot in a corner behind the strip mall. Generally, I liked that they offer filling options on their ala carte, so you can have what you want without ordering an entire entrée. Our service was pretty good, but our waiter didn’t try hiding he was disappointed that we weren’t ordering more. Overall, still a cheaper option than Acapulcos.

We love this place the service is always good and they know how to make a great drink. I personally would recommend their fajitas or enchiladas. Their queso and margaritas are also great. Their waiters are spot on, busy or slow we always receive excellent service. I’m just glad we don’t have to drive to cottage grove any more.

Good food but that’s it Just good. Fried ice cream was not good as I remember from an earlier visit. Slow service

There’s a late April Blizzard outside, so naturally my wife and I decided to warm up over some Mexican food. I gotta admit, I was quite surprised that the chips and salsa were not unlimited … they are at most Mexican places of similar price. I decided to order the Estela Quesadilla, I would later find out this was a big mistake. The meal came out very quickly and the portion size was large, but that’s were the positives end. The«steak» inside my quesadilla looked like over-browned ground hamburger and had zero flavor. I tried the quacomole and it also had very little flavor, basically a half smashed avocado. When I picked up my first slice of the quesadilla there was so much grease I felt like I needed a shower. Overall this was the worst Mexican meal I have ever eaten.

Used to love going here. Food has gone downhill in the last two visits, so I’m not going back.

Went there on a Saturday early with a group of four… not terribly busy got right in and seated… that is where it ended… we waited and waited for service and all decided to leave and go somewhere else… I don’t know what happened but there were 4 girls that work there standing by the cash register without a care in the world . when we left. I told them we were leaving because no one came to help us and they did not reply. Another thing I noticed on the menu and from a review it sounds like they charge you after the first chips and salsa. I spend good money and do not like places that do that! I will never go back for that reason and would recommend other places rated better as there are many great Mexican restaurants in the Cities. Sorry this is rated on service and not food as we didn’t get to try anything… oh well doesn’t sound like we missed anything to great?!

Recent experience(after not being able to get a place at the bar for a beer at Outback Steakhouse): * friendly and prompt service * delightfully colorful interior décor * decent tasting complimentary chips and salsa * mediocre loaded up nachos — not bad, nothing great Ultimately, not a «destination», but a possible stop if in the area.

For Mexican food in Woodbury, this wasn’t too bad. The outdoor entrance threw us off,(we must have come in the back) but eventually we found the front door. Service was great. Our server was very attentive making sure we had chips, water refilled etc. First round of chips is on the house– the next round is 1.00 extra which I noticed in the menu. J asked for hotter salsa and that was an extra charge too. Ok whatever, not a biggie, but worth a mention. I ordered the fajita taco salad which I must say, was one of the better taco salads I’ve had. I chose the mix of chicken and steak. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Green peppers, onions and tomatoes, mixed in with fresh lettuce and one big dollup of sour cream. The shell was good, too not overly greasy. Ordered a side of rice which was pretty good. J ordered the smothered burrito which he didn’t really care for. He said it was way too wet and smothered. Not his cup of tea, but good to know for next time. I like the hand painted colorful chairs and the colorful atmosphere. Pretty good food. Good service. Willing to go back to this place. They have a taco salad del mar with shrimp and scallops which looked pretty interesting. Menu is pretty good size. Lunch prices are daily.

I really like this place for the most part. Their prices are fairly low, the food is pretty tasty and the portions are big. The waitstaff is sort of hit or miss, really, as is the way in which the food is prepared. I’ve never had a rude waitress here, per se, but I’ve had a couple of aloof ones. There’s a dish they make that has chorizo, grilled chicken, carmelized onions and roasted jalapenos with cheese. It’s truly awesome… or, at least, it was prior to my last time getting it. It’s usually served with the jalapenos in beautiful charred strips accompanied by nicely carmelized thin strips of onions. The most recent dish had minced(very minced) little chunks of barely cooked jalapenos and onions. It definitely took something away. I ate it and am hoping this was an isolated incident… I’ll probably say something if it happens again. The décor is your typical blasts of intense color. The booths and chairs are all carved with designs and painted. It’s a fun little place to be, for the most part. In fact, the only thing it’s really missing for me is consistency.

Food was decent, my 2 yr old loved the guacamole. Service was a little slow but when the server finally did come to the table the food came out fast. Overall decent but not great.

I came here with co-workers after class to check this place out. I can’t tell if most of the parking was for Outback or here. Anyways, the service was fast and pretty decent. I had the taco salad with steak tips and I thought it was decent. My co-workers had some enchilada and were a bit disappointed. I guess it depends on what you order. The atmosphere rocks here. Furniture and tables are really Mexican so families would enjoy this place.

Went in with a group of 6. We ordered pitchers of Margaritas. $ 9.99 for 1 picther that was like kool-aid. Just lacking in all aspects. So for the margaritas they get ZERO stars… They have it already made in the kool-aid dispenser and now we know why. No booze, no lime, nothing, just a watery drink. Steer clear from them. The food was decent. Nothing special. But good. A couple in the group go the«double» fajitas. Huge serving and they said it was tasty. Not sure if I really wanna go back here… Horrid margaritas, server was indifferent and the food while not«bad» wasn’t anything special either.

Eating here felt like divine punishment. The kind of divine punishment that leaves you wondering what you could have possibly done to deserve the wrath of whichever deity you care to name. It was bad. It was expensive. I rose up and cursed the heavens after finishing the meal. Perhaps I shall sacrifice a goat prior to going back to appease the gods and garner pity.

For Woodbury, they do a good job here. The kicker for is to get a side of the Habanera sauce. Mix that into anything that’s weak and spring it into Cali time! Best so far is the Beef Chili Verde. Upper end Maggies on the rocks are good too. Could use thicker Salsa as well. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Should dim the lights a little bit a night.

We dropped in for dinner tonight. Service was pretty fast and the food was good(not great) but given the general level of Mexican eats in suburban East metro above average. I thought the salsa was pretty good too even though I don’t usually like salsa with a lot of cilantro. We’ll be back.
