Awesome food and prompt, effecient services. Love getting drunken noodle with pad that style noodle. Awesomeness!

Great theme… but not executed so well. The décor is nice with the pictures lining the walls giving a glimpse of the beauty of Thailand. The food is inconsistently good. This usually comes from having too large a menu for patrons to choose from. Drunken Chicken is a staple that is common in most Thai restaurants. Beyond that the remaining menu items are iffy. I’ve been here a few times to get an idea as to what they are about. The service is lackluster at best. FYI… a smile goes a long way to showing some hospitality. While paying via credit card, I indicated no tip as I usually leave cash. The waitress was ready to argue without knowing my intention. This is also off-putting. In another incident, my appetizer was served after my dinner. While this place is not terrible, it can benefit from a management style conducive to great dining experiences.

Great food. Good service. Menu looks like some good unique options though we just got the usual.

Always a great experience every time I go! The chicken or shrimp pad Thai is always a fantastic choice. It’s a small yet cozy little place– definitely go here if you haven’t yet.

Stopped in for lunch while driving through the area. Great food, customer service. We ordered the crab rangoon, pad see u, and lemongrass chicken. Everything tasted great, was prepared freshly and quickly. The lemongrass chicken in particular was a very generous portion. The restaurant was very clean. I would recommend and definitely consider returning if I was in the area again.

Adorable little getaway for lunch or dinner. Authentic cuisine and friendly wait staff & owner. I love their spring rolls and chicken with broccoli. I used to work close by and we would order take out here quite a bit. Always fresh and tasty, super reasonable in prices-great lunch specials as well. Such a romantic first date option(hint hint).

Amazing! I brought my family for lunch and we all could not get over how great the food and the service was. The cost was s reasonable even without the additional 10% from Unilocal.I will be going back … a lot!

Every time an out of state friend or family member visits, I bring them here. And everyone loves it! Great menu with a lot of solid curry options. I always order a thai iced tea with my meal, deliciously fresh & is presented appetizingly. The décor is fun and trendy-a small, but welcoming space. We’ve only ever had one waiter, but he’s great. Friendly & attentive.

I want to love this place, but the slow and inattentive service gets in the way. I like their food a LOT but it’s consistently overshadowed by the surprising amount of time to accomplish basic service tasks here. I’ve noticed there are three types of clientele here: the drink/talk/graze crowd who use Thai Stories as their weekly 2+ hour escape, the takeout crowd who are content with a 45 – 60 minute wait, and then groups like ours who are there for the quality food and would like to eat roughly in about an hour. It’s as if time slows when you walk through that door. I get that that probably has a certain appeal for customers seeking a particular experience. Like a little Thai café where you can sit all night without any pressure to turn the table. But if you are more mainstream in your restaurant expectations, this place just isn’t for you. As a businessman, my hypothesis is that Thai Stories seems to have maxed out its service/kitchen throughput under their current operating model. Maybe they are content with that and as successful as they ever sought to be. I just hope that management isn’t blaming location or marketing for their revenues, since it’s more fundamental than that.

Ordered the sampler platter, it was small portions for two adults. The fried half duck was also on the small side and the sauce was way to over powering with salt. I might go back but highly doubt it. We were the only people at the restaurant and the service was slow and mediocre

Excellent Thai flavors with awesome lunch special. For around $ 10 you get a choice of soup, and appetizer, and main course. Everything tasted fresh and made to order. Went with three other people for lunch and everyone raved about their meal. Casual, clean, and modern establishment. Coming from a big city, I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity, service, and price. I’ll definietly have this on my list of go-to places for lunch or dinner.

I don’t write reviews often and it takes a lot for me to go find the password to Unilocal that I’ve forgotten many times over and sit down to write a review. In this case I feel I would be doing Thai Stories an injustice by not writing a review and supporting their local establishment. First, I’ve only eaten here for lunch and both times with my wife and baby. Both times we’ve been here the experience has been nothing but thumbs up. Atmosphere Tucked into a small plaza I like that it’s out of the way from the main road a bit and the parking lot sure is eclectic with a bowling alley and bike shop. It’s almost sleepy and I like it. Inside the restaurant is modern, clean and inviting. The music in the background, often forgotten, was a great mix of songs and had my 10mo old daughter dancing in her high chair. Service Service is great. The people are prompt, courteous and the food was served on time, courses delivered staged correctly and water was filled promptly. Can’t ask for more. They also asked if we needed a high chair without us asking. Food The lunch special is absolutely the best bargain ever. Not only is the main dish a good portion but it also comes with a soup and a side. The main dishes are all so good with a great selection for vegan and non vegan folk that its hard to choose one. The food always looks fresh and you can tell by the color and crispness of the vegetables. Also I like that its made to order so you can alter as needed to cater to your dietary needs. There didn’t appear to be any alcohol served however if there is one thing to recommend its to try the Thai Iced Tea. Trust me. My wife tried mine and got one to go. When in the Woodbridge area skip the chains and support a local restaurant, especially one that is as good as any Thai food I’ve had in the state.

We went Saturday night for dinner. We were sat quickly and despite there only being 2 other parties there, it took a few moments to be greeted and get water. We wanted a light dinner, so we ordered the pork & shrimp dumplings and our entrees. The dumplings were cooked nicely and the dipping sauce was outstanding. The filling was tasty, but indescribable. I couldn’t tell you if there was pork and it shrimp in there. My entrée was the wild boar basil. It was simply pork slices. It had great flavor, but way too salty. My husband got the beef stir get. This came out on a hot place like fajitas at Chili’s. It was also good, but that portion was small with very little sauce. We’ll try it again, but I wish we had the great experience everyone who recommended that we go had had.

This is now our go to Thai restaurant. Everything we have tried here has been great and parking is much easier than downtown New Haven. It’s a bonus that they are kid friendly! Every time we come in they pull out the snoopy plates and cups for the kids.

I went here because I have heard good things about this place and the reviews are pretty good. I ordered the pad thai and, spring rolls and some galangal broth soup. I was disappointed. The staff were not welcoming and the food was simply lack luster. It was not very busy at all and whenever I needed something, it was like UI was asking them to move mountains. However, I am not opposed to trying this place again. I know that sometimes there are bad days in the service industry, and this may have been one of those days. When I go back, I will see if it is worthy of a better review.

Best Thai food around. Just back from Thailand and they will make it as authentic(spicy) as you’d like. We have never been disappointed here. While most other Thai restaurants in the surrounding towns have gone downhill(new owners/chefs), this one remains steady. The coconut soup is absolutely amazing and worth going for alone! Really, haven’t had a bad dish yet.

Thai Stories has tasty, fresh Thai food at a decent price. The lunch specials are especially well-priced; you can get a noodle dish, soup, and spring rolls for less than 10 dollars! I have only ever gotten the Pad Thai from here and it is tasty, especially the seafood version, which has calamari/shrimp/scallops in it. I recommend trying this place out. It is far from the best Thai Food in the world, but it is still very good. 3.5÷5 stars, rounded to 4.

Thai Stories tells a mediocre tale, I’m sad to say. There’s nothing special or interesting about the food here, but it’s not bad by any means, and it’s slightly better than almost every other Thai restaurant in the New Haven area(except for Thai Pan-Asian, which edges it out, in my opinion). I started off with the vegetable dumplings($ 5.95). I like that they were made in house, but they were pretty bland and didn’t fill me up. The rice dumpling covering on these was paper-thin and the dumplings fell apart easily. The portion size was also tiny. For my main entrees I had the Hot Basil with tofu($ 9) and the Eggplant and Sweet Basil($ 10). The Hot Basil was just your average, watery, not spicy, soy sauce stir-fry that 99% of Thai restaurants in the US serve. It consisted of cubes of fried tofu with some basil, a few huge shards of bell pepper, and some diced button mushrooms. This dish had no kick, lacked the robust taste you’d find in Thailand, and it just disappointed me in general. The portion size was also tiny; I cleaned off this dish in a matter of minutes. And I’d already had an appetizer, so I wasn’t exactly starving. The Eggplant with Sweet Basil was slightly tastier with some bold fermented and tangy notes. The dish consisted of twigs of basil, shards of bell pepper and eggplant. The portion size was also small so don’t expect leftovers. Thai Stories offers brown rice, which is nice, but there’s a surcharge for it. The service was friendly but not attentive. They took our order but we didn’t see them again until the end of the meal, basically. We ended up paying at the front register because it didn’t seem like they’d swing around our table any time soon. All told, Thai Stories is mediocre.
