Pier 1 Imports

this store is a pain… the manager is rude and so are some of the younger staff. I went into Pier 1 to purchase a chair. Since the chair came in pieces, one piece they didn’t have, so they made an in-​store order. I had to pay upfront and was told that all the pieces to the chair would be there in 3 – 10 days. The associate who helped me was very kind and it seemed like a pleasant transaction at first. She informed me also that were getting a shipment rather soon and to check back in a few days. After a few days had passed I stopped into the store and went up to the register. The young girl working there immediately looked away as approached her and was giving off a very displeased attitude. I inquired about my order and she looked it up and told me that it wasn’t there and said with a very rude tone that they would call me when it came in. I was very put off by how I was talked to so I avoided contact with the store until the 11^th day when I walked back in only to find out my purchase still had not arrived. This time I was dealing with the manager who corrected me saying in-​store orders ACTUALLY take 3 – 14 days to arrive! Well then why does it say on your site 3 – 10? why lie to customers just to get them to buy stuff knowing orders aren’t reliable with estimated shipping time??? To add insult to injury I was also told that they had several trucks come that all contained XMAS stock… so you mean to tell me my order which was paid for was an after thought to products for a holiday over 3 months away and aren’t paid for??? On-​top of that their next shipment was 6 days away still even extending the new 3 – 14 day wait period and my order wasn’t even guaranteed to be on that truck either! I was expected to just wait and wait and wait for a product I had already paid for! Even contacting customer service via phone was not much of a help either as the only thing they could do was ship one of the pieces to me standard shipping which was 7 day wait time… after that I went back and got a refund and was told by the manager that «she can’t control what the warehouse sends her». It was my first and last purchase at that store. hated the experience and I wrote a letter to their corporate office.

How I love coming into Pier One. It’s always a joy coming here. The smell of potpourri, oils and other enticing scents dance under your nose the minute you walk in. At this location, along with the pleasant scent, you are also greeted by a friendly salesperson who asks you if you need any help or to ask you about your day. This store is a nice size and there is always something that you can find on sale or get for clearance especially if it’s an off season item. Sign up for their email. With that you will get coupons that will save you even more moohlah! Much recommended place to go for your home goods and decorating.
