I came in for lunch. The place was empty around noon but when I left there was quite a few more people. I order the burger off the lunch menu. It says 6oz. but this burger seems much bigger. The burger is juicy and delicious. The veggies are fresh and crunchy. The fries came out hot out the fryer. I had to wait for them to cool off a bit. The only down side is there was no non alcoholic brews. No root beer, ginger beer or a non alcoholic beers.(I did leave that suggestion with the bartender.) The staff was nice except there was one guy who looks like he was bored because he was swatting the floor with a rag. The place was clean and didn’t wreak of beer. I would definitely recommend this place and go back for the food.

Beer was great with many choices. $ 9 for a flight of 64oz beers. Host, manager, waitress were all top notch. Attentive, friendly, accommodating with switchin channels to let you see your game. The pacific IPA and Tropic IPL were both great the latter being very unique. Waitress really knew here beers.

This is one of those places I assumed would be packed and wasn’t. It’s pretty standard newer built bar décor and fare. Big open room, big dark wood tables, lighter walls. Small, cement patio outside with a little fence dividing it from the parking lot, some games(both cornhole and board games), the bar and three TVs. For a Saturday night there were maybe only a dozen patrons in the whole place. Service started slow and awkward but became more warm and efficient and the meal progressed. The beer was cold and good, though the«pints» are much closer to 10-maaaaaaaybe12oz than true pints. The burgers were OK. Nothing I’ll crave or order again, but not poor tasting. Prices are neither high nor a great deal(though we were asked to open a tab when we sat, then paid in full when we exited– only to notice the next day we were charged both times for the beer– so watch out for that). The whole thing is just kind of unremarkable and forgettable, which is what I think probably happens and why there were so few people here.

I will be brief. We have lived in Woodbridge for 22 years, and this is the best restaurant experience that we have ever had. Our waitress, Ricki, was attentive and cheerful. Our food was REALLY great. Our appetizers and meals came to the table piping hot. The Cider was excellent. The atmosphere was great, and the menu was unpretentious. We will be making a return visit, soon.

I should have carefully read the reviews and ordered a burger, but instead I ordered a sandwich. My friends got the nachos, wings, and ravioli. We all agreed the food was terrible. I hate giving a two star review, but honestly save your money and eat somewhere else. The beers were good and the service was phenomenal, but hot damn that food was terrible. Come for a beer and a few laughs(they have darts) skip the overpriced poorly executed food.

Ornery Burger was well worth is but messy. Try the pretzels. Sit outside, never too warm for it.

This was my first visit to Ornery. I was impressed by their facility. I was relatively large, brew pub. It was new, clean, and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. They serve food as well as beer. I was mostly interested in trying their beer offerings. I had a flight of six beers. I liked their offerings especially their Hefeweizen and amber and brown ales. The only food that i had was their house made chips which I enjoyed. I recommend this brew pub. I plan to return to try their food.

Don’t think about going anywhere else. Beer was amazing. The Ornery Burger was amazing. I added cheese bacon and and egg on mine but I could eat burgers daily and this one was top notch. The restrooms were clean and the place was well decorated. We did go at an off time of day but even then they had a lot of staff on, Saturday at 3:30pm. Their beer garden had corn hole which was great for my kids to have something to do while we finished our beverages.

So let’s start this off with the good. My wife says that she just had the best burger she has ever had. Ever. Let me repeat that. Ever. So I made her sit in reflection about all the burgers she has experienced in her life. After a few minutes, she said«I stand by my previous statement.» What made it so awesome? She said that she could taste every individual flavor in the sandwich. Perfectly cooked and appropriate portions of ingredients made this the best burger experience of her life. I decided that I would try the Italian flatbread. Not the best in the world but definitely a delicacy I will be returning for. Now for the bad. The first wine was like grape juice. But there’s a good side. Our waiter, Bobby, replaced the wine with a really good one. Overall the experience was great and our waiter was spot on with the attention we needed and the privacy we desire. We will be making this a regular stop.

I’ll keep it simple: good spacious spot to chill with a decent selection of beers. Price is also reasonable. Food, what you would normally expect from bar food, quality-wise. But it sounds fancier on the menu. But overall, nice open space to hangout.

Greta service amazing food and incredible beer. The atmosphere is a great balance of chill and rock and roll. They have real dart boards and pinball machines. Public house is the best name for this place and the best description of the vibe inside. It’s a perfect place to go and relax with old friends and catch up or get the whole group together to celebrate.

This was a pretty cool place. Torn between two appetizer options, we decided on the chicken and waffle bites with the glaze. We had to ask for more glaze because the little bit dribbled on the plate wasn’t enough. Other than that, we loved the bites. My husband ordered lamburger, and I had a salad with grilled chicken. Both were scrumptious. He also did a sample of some of the beers, which he said were pretty good(I tried some of them, but considering I don’t like beer, I hated the ones I tried). Overall, I think we’ll be back!

It’s a neat place but i wasn’t overly impressed. Seemed a bit expensive for what it offered… almost as it is trying too hard to be a yuppie place. The beer was okay but nothing to write home about; then again, craft beer isn’t my thing… although I always keep an open mind and try anything. I had one of the burgers; it was a bit too big and messy to handle and although I asked for med rare it was more on the rare, rather tartar side… think it made me sick; I kind of threw up when I got home to be honest… literally… on the way out, someone had gotten fish and it smelled way more fishy than it probably should have… a little suspect. As for the service, service was very good; personable and attentive. The décor very modern and bachelor themed… the other day driving by we noticed a bar area the was fashioned like a garage — it looked pretty cool. they also have some sitting areas inside with couches that seemed inviting… Overall it looked like a pretty cool place to hang, but not a lot of sitting areas like the one I just described to do it… but also not any place I’ll probably go back to personally. Although I know several people who are fans of the place. So, I would say don’t be discourage by this one review… look at the others and find the ones who are probably more in to the craft beer thing. Cheers all @

I have been here twice. Once with the old management and once with the new and updated menu and chef. I was still not impressed with the food. The customer service was very nice. The place is very gloomy and dark, needs to be brightened up a bit. If there were better items on the menu I am sure it would be great. Nothing on the menu jumped out at me.

There are a few things I like to see in a brewery. Cleanliness, engagement, and a good beer selection all ways top the list. Cleanliness– the bar, tables, bathroom and seating areas were all clean. The overall feel ad the bar was a laid back atmosphere. This is NOT a preppy place to get a beer.(sorry stuck up beer snobs) The food was very well prepared and very presentable. Staff engagement– I can’t say enough here. Rob(here’s the growler) was very knowledgable about the beer on hand. He was also eager to share a sample as we discussed my likes. The entire staff was friendly and courteous. I felt like it was my home town and I was a regular. Beer– They offered a great selection of SOLID beers. Chris(brewmaster) came over to talk about what he is and has been brewing. They had a selection that should sit well with almost any beer drinker. Swag– They have stickers… Enough said Next time I’m in the area this will be a stop of mine. Rex, Chris, Rob Thanks for the experience.

Stopped in for a girls lunch on a Sunday around noon after visiting David’s Bridal a few doors down. Walking down the sidewalk it was revealed that this place is HUGE! We weren’t sure they were open as it was dark & didn’t see anyone inside, but we found a good size crowd at the bar area upon entering. We opted for a high top table just behind the bar. Started off with a tasting flight of what could be considered their lighter beers, basically the left side of their current beer menu + Pacific Waves. As a predominately domestic beer drinker, I found the tasting fun & informative of all the flavors that can be found in a beer. Who knew?! Definitely recommend keeping your beer menu to read through with each flight. The Occoquan Oats certainly boasted the smooth caramel flavors, the PW Pale had a heavily floral smell, though it had a more rounded taste & the Pacific Waves wasn’t a good fit for me at all, too much hops I suppose. While I enjoyed the tastings, my personal favorite was the Orney Blonde — easy drinking, smooth & light. The menu is just as fun as the brews! Many of the dishes are prepared with local produce & meats, including cuts from Holly Brook Farms. If you’ve visited the local Smart Markets, you’ll know that Holly Brook Farms is a husband & wife team that has only grass fed, pasture raised livestock in Berryville, VA. Absolutely love that I can support 2 local businesses in such an awesome setting here! So of course I decided on the lamb burger, which was melt in my mouth good. For a small upcharge I swapped out the fries for a side salad that was crisp & fresh. As good as my food was, I was still eye balling my friends grilled buffalo chicken sandwich, of which she said was rather tasty. Kids menus offer typical American options, including flatbread pizza, tenders & burgers. All around good place, something for everyone here!

Ornery Brewery has so much potential. When you walk into their massive facility on a bustling weekend evening, you’d expect that the service may be a bit slow or the staff to seem overwhelmed but I haven’t experienced either of those things to date. In fact, I’ve only had relatively good experiences with their team(other than that one bartender who didn’t seem to have a clue about the beer they were serving). My major issue with Ornery is their layout. On the left hand side of the building is where the main bar and restaurant areas are located. On the right hand side is an outdoor, patio type situation, accessible by a door from the inside but closed off on the outside. I love this patio vibe, it’s very D. C rooftop however… the inside of Ornery is something much less desirable. My recommendations? Maybe get rid of some of the endless tables not being used and set up a game room. Hey, you hold a corn hole tourney and raise some money for a local charity, that would be cool right?! Bring back some dart boards like that Chili place before you had set up. Make it a little more exciting. Other than that, sure, I’d recommend Ornery. Not necessarily for their beer but the combination of their patio atmosphere and yummy(but a little overpriced) appetizers.

I’ve visited a couple breweries recently, but this by far is most appealing. The beer is great and they probably have the best burger I’ve ever tasted. Favorite beer is Smokey Beech Porter… amazing!!!

This place has a great layout that is open and provides a variety of seating for small and large groups a like. Several sections of area to include a separate beer garden, a full bar with plenty of seating, a lounge area, and tables/booths. Delicious beer brewed on site, and delicious food made fresh and perfectly seasoned. Prices are great for the elevated food and drink. Took advantage of trying the sampler and their nachos… oh man those nachos so good, perfectly distributed and prepared… they use a beer cheese that is made in house. The star brews for me was the Woodbridge Wit and Light Horse Pale Ale. I will say the service is a little slow and distracted despite having plenty of staff. They just need to tighten this up, and train better on scanning sections I think… This place has a great atmosphere and location… I see it becoming a regular stop in.

Reading the reviews I wasn’t really sure what to expect coming to Ornery this weekend, but now that I have experienced it, I can understand some of the concerns. So, let’s start with the good stuff first, shall we? +The staff is super friendly. We were greeted immediately and then Meredith, our server extraordinaire, made sure we never wanted for anything! She also made sure we tried all of the beer and were completely satisfied with our meals. She was really awesome! I also thought having a manager walk the floor to check up on tables was a nice touch. +I was impressed with the food. It seems to be a mixed experience based on other reviews, but I very much liked mine. My group of four and I sampled the pretzels and the pickles and then each got a main course. The pretzels were more of a croissant than a pretzel IMO, but they were really good and I liked the cheese sauce that came with. The pickles were really nicely brined, not your traditional boring dill flavor, and lightly fried. Then for my main course I loved my curried cauliflower sandwich! There was so much flavor there. My husband’s Cubano sandwich though was the real show stopper. It was fantastic! I may even have stolen more then the initial bite he offered me… oops. +They offer a limited wine and cider menu if you are not a beer drinker. Now on to the not so good stuff: –I didn’t like any of the their beer. They are still new and the menu is limited to 6 beers, but really I would not have gotten a glass of anything at this point. –It’s a weird use of space. Hardtimes was huge and OBC has a lot of empty space to fill up if they don’t want to feel cold and uninviting. They have a lounge type area with a bunch of couches, a huge wrap around bar, several long hi-top tables and kept the booths for the dining area. This would be fine if they were slammed all the time, but when they aren’t it feels disjointed. I think it will be interesting to watch OBC grow and I plan on coming back in a few months once they have had time to settle into a groove. I’d obviously love them to succeed, so I’ll also watch for their beer list to grow and hope for the best.
