Johnny Rockets

Once again, Johnny Rockets seems to be pretty standard at all of the locations I’ve been to. Servers are usually pretty nice and the food is decent for a simple burger joint. The burgers and fries here are always good. if I have a gripe it is the menu is a little bit limited. If you are looking for anything resmbling a healthy option, this might not be the place to go.

These guys are doing it right. Manager checked in with us, and Danny gave us service well above average. Usually wary of chains, but these guys are doing it right.

I had a great time at the Johnny Rockets in Woodbridge Center Mall! The host was very friendly and personable. The service was super fast & our waitress made sure we had everything we needed. I had the Bacon Cheddar Burger & it was everything I wanted in a burger. Halfway through our meal, the employees started dancing old school jams! It was hilarious. Will definitely be returning.

Service was okay. I really like the ketchup smiley faces! The food was pretty good. I had a cheeseburger and fries were nice. I really liked the taste of it all compared to cheap ones here in florida at their Jhonney Rockets. The Ghiradelli chocolate milkshake was amazing!!! Miss this place.

Always a fan of Johnny Rockets. I had a bowl of chili w cheese, which was ok.
And we ordered cheese fries & a burger, which was good. The waitresses are always nice & polite to us. They even gave us another batch of plain fries for free. Then they start singing & clapping when their songs come on. Fun place.

The food here is excellent. The burgers are always nicely cooked, slightly charred on the outside, with high fat content for plenty of flavor. The buns are slightly hard on the outside, soft and moist on the inside. The lettuce is fresh, the onions are nicely cooked — not mushy or flavorless, but not overly crisp or bitter. I recommend this restaurant, the best burger I’ve had anywhere.

I’ve visited this Johnny Rockets several times but have not been in awhile. I ordered the #12 with French fries and an Oreo milkshake. The food came out fast and hot. Everything was absolutely delicious. My only compliant was that my milkshake was a little watery compared to past visits when my shake was very thick just how I like it. Other than that no complaints! I will be back.

I’ve been here twice in the past year and enjoyed the food and service both times. They have a turkey burger which says for limited time only (but it’s been on the menu for awhile) that is delicious. It comes with mayo and sliced onions. I tell them to hold the mayo and grill the onions and the end result is close to perfection. Whatever you order, please at least try the sweet potato fries. I dip them in ketchup (because they’re fries, right) and magic happens. I don’t believe I’m exaggerating at all. Also, servers are attentive and friendly. Stop in the next time you happen to be in the area.

My wife and I really like the place;) we go there quite often when we really want to eat a really good burger;) the staff is friendly and the service is always super good! Their onion rings and French fries are very good, too. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a good, solid burger place; it does not disappoint.

My burger was great. The food came out fresh and hot. The waitress was attentive & very nice. I will revisit whenever I’m in Woodbridge.

The food was good. However the jukeboxes weren’t playing and there was no 50s style mudic being played in the place. Also there was no dancing whatsoever by the workers. The jikebox even had songs from the 1970s and 1980s in it. You want to be in a 50s setting you don’t need music from another decade. Shame on You!!!

Always like this place and the food selection, however the service could use some work.

i give it 4 because of the server maria who was more than hospitable.
never ate here before, gave it a shot. got the houston, and their chocolate shake (specialty one)

tomato-​soggy/​improper portion size.
onions– eh, could have been crispier
jalapenos– wayyy too many
first bite: no crunch, which i always look forward to which kinda sucked
the meat was tender, lacked some «zing», but i cud manage without it
i also got fries. not gonna lie, tasted like a careless lunch lady from high school prepared them.
would i go here again? only for a shake, but then again maybe they were just having an off day.
who knows?

For fast food it’s a great burger.
Nice toasted potato roll, fresh ground beef a side of crispy fries.
They have a special going on. Original burger w fries $ 5 and change.
Add cheddar a buck. Plus soda 2 and change.
After tip you figure like 11 total. About the same price as five guys and I would say about the same quality minus the peanuts.
The guys have a leg up with their fries though.
All in all a decent burger chain.

The food at the Woodbridge Mall Johnny Rockets is good — definitely up to the normal standards of this chain. But the service? Ehh.
We chose Johnny Rockets over Five Guys, because that place was kinda dark & empty. Johnny Rockets was bright, welcoming, & I’ve been to their Hoboken location before. Our waitress was Dot (?). She was scattered, to say the very least. I ordered diet coke, and my friend ordered a coke with no ice. The waitress came back 5 minutes later with two sodas, a glass of ice, and an explanation: «I couldn’t remember which soda had what, so neither of you get ice. Just pour it out of here.» …Ok?
We ordered food without incident, and it was good. I got a burger with sweet potato fries (Delicious, flavorful, & crunchy … and they’re new! Highly recommended.), and my friend ordered plain fries. She also mentioned to the waitress that she wanted a sundae afterward. I guess Dot forgot again, because she wordlessly slapped our check down on our table 10 minutes into our meal.
It was hard getting Dot’s attention to pay (and she sounded annoyed when we finally did), and she never checked on us after we got our food. We almost asked another employee for help, but she was wearing Uggs & sweatpants, and we weren’t sure if she actually worked there or not.
Bottom line: Good food, questionable service. If you don’t like your meal to be interrupted, and you’re not a picky eater, this is the mall restaurant for you.

This is the 2^nd Johnny Rockets I’ve been to in the last two years. My boyfriend and friends were very close to Johnny Rockets, so we thought of just coming here for a simple lunch. The service wasn’t too bad and the food quality was definitely mediocre.
There was a special the day we went where it was a $ 5.00 meal with All-​U-​Can-​Eat fries. I decided to go with something different and light. I ordered the Patty Melt sandwich which consisted of grilled onions and American & Cheddar cheeses on grilled rye bread. I ordered the cheese fries as well and it was quite delicious and definitely cheesy.
My boyfriend ordered the chicken club sandwich which was humongous and consisted of: grilled chicken breast with applewood smoked bacon,
iceberg lettuce, fresh tomato & mayonnaise on triple-​decker sourdough. His sandwich consisted more ingredients in mine and he got a side of cheese fries as well.
I don’t think I would come to Johnny Rockets a lot because the food is definitely artery clogging and there are many other restaurants with great selections of burgers and sandwiches.

I have always loved this restaurant. It’s classic, good comfort food and it’s casual and fun. I get a kick out of the staff singing and dancing along to the music from the jukeboxes. I also love how they make smiley faces from the ketchup. The grilled cheese and fries are the best :)

Another Johnny Rockets first-​timer here too. I’ve always wanted to go, especially having passed the one in the West Village so many times when I was in NYC, before it closed. But there are so many great non-​chain restaurants in NYC, why go to a chain?
Luckily, this time I came across a Johnny Rockets in place where I didn’t have any choice but to eat at a chain. I could also add another entry into my ongoing survey of burgers in the area.
This one was just about in the middle. Not quite as good as a diner burger, but a step above a fast food burger — better quality ingredients, bigger meal, and not a bad deal for their $ 5 special, which was an «original burger» including fries, but no cheese or soft drink (I had mine to go.)
Meat quality wasn’t high, but not ground up dairy cow either. I liked the potato-​tasting roll, and the fries were fine. Substantial burger, more meat than a Big Mac or Five Guys, but smaller than a diner burger. No choice in how well-​done it was, no surprise. A lot of mayonnaise as a buffer.
The 50s theme felt slightly over the top though, artificial, with the speakers blaring «American Pie.» They could totally have a «Back to the Future» night here with Biff Tannen and his greasers walking around. You know when they’re putting money into ambience, they’re not paying all their attention to the food.
The grill in the middle was interesting, a little dirty, but par for the course for a grill shack like they are. But because the 50’s scene is so artificial, it seemed a little weird to have something as real as a dirty grill right there.
