Customer service is not the worst but they make transactions way too complicated. You can’t have someone else pick up your game or return it for you even if you call ahead or give them your original receipt. The associates are constantly giving different information about store policies. One will state that they can print out receipts and another will say no. Clearly they are never on the same page and it’s a great inconvenience for the customers. They need to be on the same page and remember that customer service is about making the customer have easy and fast transactions. Not complicated ones.

Since customer service changes with the employees, I decided to update the old reviews with a more recent experience. I am not the typical gamer, I’m female and older. I decided to buy the PS4 after friends raved about Destiny. I usually play on my computer and haven’t really played on a console since the Atari. :P Anyway, I walked in to the store and was greeted right off by both employees. I told them what I was looking for which was the PS4 Last of Us bundle including the copy of Destiny. The employee set me up with everything I needed, and without me saying anything, he discounted one of my items because of a crack in the case. Both employees were helpful and polite. The location is also nice. It is relatively easy to access and it wasn’t so busy that I had to wait.

I HATE this store! Be advised that there are 2 other GSs very close by. My advice is to go there instead! I visited this store last week(few days before Christmas) and asked about two items in particular. The first item is the kinetic bracket that mounts to flat screen TVs, and the second is a hard drive case for xbox360 S. Now my problem isn’t the fact that the store didn’t have them in stock, but being told that item #1 didn’t exist and they’ve never heard of item #2. To be the supposed game store place for accessories and knowledge they lack both along with customer service which I’ll end with. So upon asking about the kinetic tv bracket and being told it dosent exist, the associate brought out a kinect lens magnifier. This allows the kinect to see you closer if your playing location is too far to be seen and for tight locations. Irritated, I said ok and asked about the hard drive case. Again, this item can be brought online and I missed buying this from 2nd and Charles by a few mins. This item allows you to remove your HD from the old Xbox hard drive and to install it in the case which then allows you to install into the Slim. Again, a common item that’s not new on the market. It’s one thing to not have it but to never have heard of it is mind boggling especially since all the had to do was google it. So irritated, I simply went across street to best buy and bought the bracket As for the case, I ordered it online for $ 5.99 with free shipping. So the day after Christmas(today!), I foolishly returned to this GS with my son. Having a brand new unopened game(gift), I was told rudely that they don’t take unopened games… ok, no problem, I ask can I either open the game there while in the store or outside and open it and bring it back in for trade or price adjustment as I was going to buy a game for my son. The cashier was like no, I couldn’t do that. So I’m like ok, we’ll still buy the video game that my son wanted. While ringing the game up, I saw the pre owned sticker on the game case. Realizing the the used game would cost more or just as much as a new version(NBA2k14) @ $ 58.99 I declined the purchase and left the store vowing to never return. My son and I simply went across the street to 2nd and Charles which gladly took the unopened game which they opened it and verified that the game was legit(which it was). I got credit for the game and my son was able to get NBA2k14 for $ 42! I have nothing against GS, just this one store in particular. If needed, shop the one in potomac mills or the one near frozen custard. 2nd and Charles is a great alternative also.

This location is alright. But as another reviewer posted; they lack customer service. (I just reviewed the other location close by) Me and my brother visited this one; after visiting another one just down the street, and like the previous GameStop we did not receive acknowledgement upon our entry. I used to work at GameStop in Hawaii and I greeted everyone who walked in the door and thanked them for coming when they left. Once my brother got what he was looking for he did not receive a thank you from the employee upon completing the transaction. He just gave my brother the bag and my brother said thank you(loud enough for me to hear and I was by the door) but got no comment back from the employee. Me and my brother did not feel welcomed at this location and the previous one close by. Please GameStop, if you read this, pick up on the aspect of customer service and greetings.

Love Gamestop because I’m a bit of a nerd. No greeting at any time for me or my friend, no offer for help to either of us either(though I didn’t need any). I am big on service, no matter where I go, so the lack of it keeps it from a 4. This location is fine, though.
