Black Rebel Burger

I re-​visited this place this past week and am sad to say that while it felt like they improved upon certain things — the size of the burger went dramatically down since the last time I visited. It was super thin and certainly not large enough to warrant a $ 9 price tag. I’m still giving it an A-​OK because it tasted good — but it was super over priced for the size.
I also had a s’mores milkshake and cheese/​chili fries that were good — the fries were better than my last time here.

A cute little establishment in Wood Ridge with a couple tables for family dinners or take out options available as well. What attracted me to this place was it’s unique and crazy burger options that are perfect for cheat day. Couldn’t resist getting the Mac & Cheese Burger of course which was basically Mac & Cheese in a burger. Good but wouldn’t get it again. I also got the chili cheese fries which were pretty messy and not very good since I got take out. The food wasn’t outstanding but I honestly can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu (I’m looking at you Chili Burger). Prices are fair but I would order ahead because I had to wait 15 – 20 minutes for my order. Definitely a fun restaurant though with super friendly staff and looking forward to visiting again soon.

I am trying to think of reasons to give Black Rebel Burger more stars but I found their burgers pretty sub-​par for the price. A lot of the flavor comes from the unique variety of toppings but the food is just ok. The staff is friendly and informative.
The restaurant is small and has seating inside.
We ordered a T. Rex, a Bacon Egg N’ Cheese, and a Mac N’ Cheese burger on the recommendation of the cashier. Each burger was cooked medium rare and was well presented. All three of the burgers were a bit salty and the side order of fries was nothing special. Each burger was enjoyable but not memorable. If given the choice, I would probably not come back.

This is great burger spot with unique combinations and good flavors coming together. I’ve been here about 5 times and for the most part Ive had relatively good experiences. I get the black rebel burger with fried onion rings and the special truffle mustard.
The buns are made daily which I think make a huge difference in how good these burger are. The last time I was here, I had a hair cooked into the bun so they made me a new one. My friends burger wasnt cooked to her request so they had to make her a new one too. When you are there it’s a quick fix for mistakes, but normally I pick up because it’s too small, like 4 tables.
When I’ve picked up to go, 2 out of 4 times the burger wasn’t cooked right. So that was frustrating because I don’t live close enough to have it fixed. I wish they checked the temperature of the burgers better so that to go orders had less problems. I also think they should ensure food is cooked with some type of hair net. This place the potential to be amazing, but I am concerned about the kitchen and wonder how clean it is based on my experience and what I’ve observed.
Also, there is no parking here at all.

Second time ordering via the Unilocal app here. On both occasions, it was easy and the food arrived super quick. Burger and Fries, hot and delicious.
I had their Blue and Black burger. You can definitely taste the blue cheese and the quality beef patty. I think their fluffy and light buns are amazing. Mesquite fries was OK. Kinda soggy, but flavor was good.
If you want a good burger, and its cold outside, and you don’t wanna get out… you should call these guys.

Burgers here are very well crafted. My fav is the Red tears burger. This is my second time having their burgers and I must say I’m impressed. They are comparable to Left bank burger bar in jersey city which I love. My father had the chili n cheese burger which was also delicious. Now that I’ve got that out of the way, let’s talk about customer service. I placed my order online and paid online. I called an hour and 15 mins later wondering about my order, apparently driver came and couldn’t find our apartment and my phone number was wrong on the order. They offered a 50% refund, and delivered it right away. Upon delivery, they had also thrown in fries and mesquite fries (also very delicious by the way). Totally unnecessary but very much appreciated.
I suspected this discount and extras included was due to burgers arriving cold now after an hour and a half since I placed order. Not the case, burgers were still very warm and delicious. Rebel Burger, I was already impressed by your options, creativity and flavors, but now this treatment is exactly the kind of treatment that is just not around anymore. I thank you. It was not necessary but it was amazing. I salute you and your employees. I forgot to mention, the delivery guy did an awesome job apologizing and representing the business, I felt as if he was part owner, maybe he was, maybe he wasn’t, either way, that’s is the kind of personal care that truly makes a business great! You have made a return customer out of me and I hope this review encourages others to discover just how great of a place you are.

We came here for burgers over the weekend and they were delicious. I got the aristocrat which had truffle oil, mushrooms, Swiss cheese and crispy onion strings on it. It was delicious, and the bun was amazing. We also got the pickle fries, and they were great too. The service was very good and quick. The only complaints I have are that there is no fountain soda (and I think that makes a burger place so much better), and it was really expensive. We paid $ 35 for 2 soda bottles, 2 burgers, and 1 order of pickle fries.

Nutella Shake is the best.
Anything with the fried jalapenos is amazing
The suicide sauce is a must have
They really need to bring back the beer battered fries!

We started out my ordering online and eating at the place. The food was ready right on time which was perfect b/​c we only had a limited amount of time to be there.
Parking is not easy but not difficult either. You can easily park down the first side street and just walk a little bit. Doesnt hurt after eating a meal like this.
I had the bacon egg and cheese burger. It was DE-​LISH! The bread was so soft and mm mm good. The mesquite fries were perfect. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.
The place itself is small and nothing special, but it doesnt matter– you are here for the burgers.
It is a bit pricey which is why i knocked off the one star, but it wont stop me from coming back!

Yes it’s small, full of teeny boppers, and questionable music choices but so good! Ordered the black rebel, medium rare, cheese fries. It was middle of the afternoon so just water. The girls were friendly and nice, too energetic-​bubbly actually. Prepubescent teens coming in trying look around for a plug to charge their phones. So avoid after school.
As for the burger. Awesome! It came out cold but they gave us Cajun fries, accidentally made, free in addition to the cheese fries. Other than the rambunctious, high screeching boys choir next to us, it was a good experience over all. Priced just right. Place needs to be visited again. Left a 50% tip. Sucks but no parking, just street.
