We were so excited to come across this place since the Milford/Highland area lacks a really great Middle Eastern restaurant. The fattoush with chicken is amazing and the freshly baked bread is divine! One of our favorite date nights is to grab takeout from here and walk down to Drafting Table(it’s in the same plaza) for some craft beer. I crave their food weekly! It’s that good! Cannot wait to go back again soon.

I’m a former waitress and I wouldn’t even give this place one star if I had a choice. *All of the staff in the back don’t know any English and probably aren’t suppose to be here *The owner is a thieve and will try to take and steal every penny he can get his hands on(note:he actually went into my purse and stole my medication(120 Vicodin) then refused to show me the cameras) and then continued to tell me I shouldn’t of had it at work knowing I was in the hospital all night and got out at 7am just to work at 10 so I didn’t have a choice. *They drop the«fresh» bread on the floor and serve it * If you saw the condition in the back you would never eat here * I was forced to serve week old milk to a child * after a table leaves they take what left of the bread or anything that can be reserved and they actually reserve it. *The cooks are dirty and shouldn’t be back there cooking food in the condition they do *I got sexually assaulted and was promised the employee would never be on grounds again then of course the employee showed up to work again and the owner thought it was a joke. *when his family wanted to give others money they would write it under my credit tip and then give it to others so I’d have to claim those tips at the end *They made me work from open to close seven days a week because they knew how hard my life was but then only paid me for 40 hours. EVERYONEINTHISPLACENEEDSJESUS I don’t see this place lasting long. Customers don’t see half of the things an employee could see. I hope this helps some people open their eyes. This guy doesn’t deserve a successful business. He deserves the worst in life.

This restaurant was OK at best. The bread tasted like chemicals, the only thing I tasted in the butter was garlic. My fatoosh salad with chicken was OK, chicken had lots of fat and my plate was dripping wet when the waitress set it down. My husband ordered the chicken shawarma the sauce was really rich. All we can smell or taste is garlic.

My husband and I decided to try something new tonight and we are so glad we did! What a wonderful find! The pita bread pockets came to the table with a delicious garlicky olive oil spread… to die for! The fattoush salad that came with our meals was fresh and oh so good, it’s tossed with a basic oil and vinegar dressing, but it was fantastic! I ordered lamb kabobs, my husband ordered the shish tawook which is a garlic chicken. Again… delicious! I don’t understand why this place isn’t more busy, it’s fantastic! They do offer take out and if you want a real treat, order your takeout and walk down to the Drafting Table with your meal, they let you bring in outside food, and order a few hand crafted beers. Makes for a great night out!

Very good mid-eastern food. Sizable portions. Hummus is excellent. Service was efficient and friendly. Nice to have a place like this in the area.

Came in last night as a party of seven. Overall very satisfied with our experience. Excellent food at reasonable prices. The place is clean and well kept. Our waitress gave very attentive service and fulfilled all of our needs. She was very kind and patient and gave great recommendations, my father loved his lamb chops! The place is nicely decorated, only complaint is we had to move tables due to a ceiling tile teetering back and fourth over our heads, Not sure what was up with that but if that was our biggest issue of the night can’t complain too much. Will be back again.

The hubby and I get takeout here and the food is pretty good. The hummus is amazing and the little pita pockets they give out with it are the best. We have tried the chicken tawook, the shish kafta, chicken shawarma, and the salads. Our favorite is the chicken tawook… yummmm! The chicken breast chunks are perfectly seasoned and grilled with an assortment of veggies. and it comes atop a heaping helping of rice. Plus you get a soup or salad with the dinner and I highly recommend the salad solely because the sumac dressing is to die for. Get the salad!!! One gripe is they could really work on the customer service. They don’t really greet you when you walk in, but they’re not outright rude either. They’re nice but not friendly :/(however, friendly staff is what I expect in a restaurant so we don’t dine in because of this).

Can’t avoid comparison with Kabob house, near warren tech center, as I basically had the same dish within a week. We ordered a mixed grill platter for two. price 35 $ — cabob house price 26 $ serving size — Much more meat in Kabob house ambience — better in Al Maidah, however location is obscure taste — awesome in Kabob House, Al Maidah I don’t know why you guys are getting such high ratings. Perhaps because your customer base is really local, who don’t get to taste all the other awesome middle eastern grill places in detroit. Or maybe it was just a bad day.

We came in for dinner. Four of us and it’s great! The food is delicious, flavorful and just so yummy! Robert served us and he did a wonderful job at showing that he cares we had a great dinner, a great experience. We ordered hummos for appetizer, chicken with fries, chicken swarama, falafel sandwich and tubole. I probably spelt all these wrong LOL All of them were fantastic. Zero complaints! I had the cheesecake for my own appetizer haha and they gave me a complimentary mint tea to go with it. On point I tell ya! Highly recommended!

The restaurant is clean and nice, love the décor. It has the best middle eastern food in the area. I love their gallaba and the deboned chicken. Decent Shish Tawook sandwich. Their lentil soup is a little bland.

We got a combo platter to go for $ 35 or so. It was good, but not as tasty as other places in the greater Detroit area(see my other Unilocal reviews for clues). The inside looked very nice and would probably offer a nice dine-in experience.

I made a last minute– like the day before– reservation here for a party of 15. The person on the phone was very kind and helpful, and promised to set everything up for me. The next evening when I arrived, I was shown to my table. There weren’t many people in here at 6pm on a Saturday, which was surprising. I ordered a pot of Arabic coffee. I prefer when it’s slightly sweetened but it was pretty popular with my guests so we ordered another pot to share. We ordered the 8 person and the 4 person platters. It was more than enough food and we had enough leftovers to invite the family over the next day to finish it off. The food itself was AMAZING! Best Arabic food in the area, for sure. The fattoush and tabouli salads were so fresh and juicy. The falafels were amazing(if you’ve ever been to Jerusalem Garden in Ann Arbor– they’re similar to theirs), and the meat was just divine. Even though I didn’t love the bread here, the hummus, baba ghanouj, and garlic sauce were soo delicious that I probably ended up eating an entire basket of pita pockets. Nothing was too oily or greasy, and we didn’t leave feeling stuffed even though we all definitely ate a lot. Our waitress was sweet and easy going even though my family can be a little too much to handle in public(imagine a bunch of Russian people speaking aka yelling over you when you’re trying to take orders). Overall fantastic experience. Everyone was so pleased. Thanks for making my impromptu grad party a success, Al Maidah! I’ll be back soon.

Food is amazing and the owners take pride in their business. The wait staff varies, I found that the waiters have always been on top of their game but when they had waitresses working, they were terrible. Non the less, I wouldn’t care if I had to serve myself… The food is the best and I’ll always go back.
