Horrible!!! My husband and I came here, new in town and wanting some yummy Mediterranean food. We stumbled upon this location of Mezza. I had Mezza in Royal Oak and it was really good. Come to find out this was the«express» version. No biggie. So we ordered falafel sandwich for me, chicken shawarma and a hummus appetizer and soft drinks. While waiting for our food, we went over to the soft drink machine where there were no cups. When we asked, the guy pointed back over to the machine and said they were right there(they weren’t) so he had to get us two cups. We sat down and shortly after they brought us the hummus and cold pita. The hummus was the most bland tasting hummus I have ever had. No flavor what-so-ever. Then shortly after finishing our appetizer the sandwiches came. One bite and I knew this was the worst I had ever tasted. Again, NO flavor at all. I’ve never had a really falafel sandwich until that night. My husbands shawarma sandwich was also very bland and the chicken was dry. It gets better. An hour after we got home, my husbands stomach started hurting, then he got diarrhea twice. He left for work shortly after that and actually had to pull over and vomited. He had 4 more episodes of diarrhea by the end of the night. Yep food poisoning! And that tiny ass meal which came out of both ends of my hubby was $ 20 without the tip. NEVERAGAIN!!!

Well, I went back after not having the best tasting lunch there a few months ago. When I went in at 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon there was just one guy behind the counter cooking and doing the cash register. No one was in the restaurant except for a lady that looked like she was just there to talk with the cook. Crushed lentil soup tasted like it had been watered down and very little flavor. The garlic was overwhelming and didn’t taste fresh; the consistency was very oily. Usually I gobble each of these items down and I won’t eat. Shish Tawook was very small and because of the terrible tasting garlic, it was not good either. I won’t be back.

I go to the Orchard Lake Mezza Location all the time, yesterday on my way home I passed this new location on Welch and 15 mile. I went in around lunch time, they had one girl working(blonde hair, Kathie, or something with a K), and one cook. The blonde was on the phone taking forever to put a carry out order in. I had to wait in line for 20 minutes before I was even acknowledged. Another staff member had just walked in to start her shift(young burnette, Alex used to wait on me at Orchard Lake) she didn’t even put her purse down. She asked if she could help anyone who was ready to place an order at the next computer. As she asked this, I kid you not, that Kathie woman SCREAMED at her«I have this under control, I don’t need your help, go stand over by the juice until I tell you I need something!» Not only was Kathie on the phone with a customer but she inappropriately said this in front of 5 or 6 other customers. I was apalled. I did not appreciate witnessing the bashing of one employee to another. I think it was very unprofessional and straight up disgusting. Also, by the time that Kathie lady waited on me, her cellphone was ringing right next to the register nonstop, she picked it up and answered while I was in mid-sentence ordering!!! Food wise, I’d give 5 stars and I’ve never had a bad dish. Customer service wise, I know all the staff I’d give everyone 5 stars. But this Kathie lady needs to go, asap. I’ll be calling to make sure she’s not there from now on. She will be what keeps this restaturant from thriving.

This restaurant just opened, we have had a lot of good tasting Mediterranean take out/small eat in type places in this area but they have closed in the last few years. it truly is hard to find a great place to get this kinda of take out, but it’s finally here. My girlfriend tried the chicken shawarma, pilaf, side fattoush salad with dressing on the side in a separate sealed container, the meal also included 2oz garlic sauce and 2oz tahini on the side. Her meal was spectacular the chicken was cooked perfect and tasted amazing. I ordered the shish kafta(they call it lamb kofta) which was cooked absolutely perfect, also my meal came with pilaf, side fattoush salad with dressing on the side in a separate sealed container, the meal also included 2oz garlic sauce and 2oz tahini on the side.(you can ask for more if you like or sub out sauces) Each of our entrees could easily be enough for 2 people or 2 – 3 meals for 1 person. We both received a generous helping of pita and on top of that while we were waiting for our carry out we were brought to big fresh from the oven pitas to munch on while we waited and we were waiting less than 10 minutes. I would defiantly suggest this place to anyone who enjoys Mediterranean food. They have a large menu and i am excited ot try the other things they have to offer. We are extremely happy to have this new Mediterranean restaurant in commerce!
