The service was awesome. We had the Duke sandwich, pulled pork and a honey ale. Also a Relaxing Raspberry Ale. All of it was really good. The kids loved their food and their home made root beer. Would definitely recommend.

If you could give a zero I would. The food here is horrible. I have tried this place on four different occasions over six years and each time I regret it. The burgers are dry and have no seasoning, ribs are bland, TexMex food has no flavor, spice or seasoning. The last time I was there, I ordered an Italian beef which was sliced deli beef in beef broth with no seasoning. I have never had such a disgusting sandwich. The only other meal that was worse was a TexMex plate that had a steel wool pad in it… literally a whole steal wool pad. Do not waste your money!

Good food & pretty good prices, & if your kids like trains, go here. There’s a place for just grown ups to eat, too, though.

Great food, very cool theme with the trains bringing out the food, great service, huge arcade and game room connected to it while waiting and after if you like. Just a really fun place to go, especially with the kiddos. My Burger was really really good. Fried cheese curds were good, but not anything special. This was by far the better of the 2 between Buffalo Phil’s and Moosejaw.

If you’re looking for a 5 star fancy restaurant in the Dells, then this isn’t the place. 2 kids, 2 adults. All of the food was very good. Service was fine considering everything is delivered/removed by a train that stops at your table. Not as gimmicky as one may think, they take the food service/brewery portion serious. Definitely a place for good food where you can bring the kids.

Great food. Kids love the train. They will blow bubbles from the train on your table. Just shield your food with your hand. Totally worth it to keep the kids occupied. Best dinner I’ve had with the kids in awhile since they were so entertained. Food was very hearty.

Come because you’re starving, leave for the craptastic service. If this restaurant was in a real city and not in the dells, it would be closed in a week. I didn’t even know there was a salad bar until after I ordered and then went to the washroom. Our waiter was so uninterested that if we were on fire, he’d throw gasoline on us just so he wouldn’t have to come back to our table and give us a water. Wayyyyy overpriced food, but good for entertaining kids. I get it, I wasn’t expecting a Michelin rated restaurant, but at least act like you give a damm.

Ok, I cannot seriously rate this restaurant like normal. Was the food good? No. Was the service good? Meh. let’s be honest, the place is attached to an arcade named Knuckleheads. I don’t expect much. But then a train delivers your food. Yes, a Lionel train on a track like Mr. Rodgers or the Christmas display at Macy’s of my youth, pulls up next to my daughter who is squealing with delight and delivers her drink and food. It is worth the stop just to see her amazement. Now with that said, I ordered the chicken wings which were battered and deep fried nicely without too much grease, but the sauces that arrived in a metal bucket to put on them were less desirable and I found that eating them plain. The flavors were a hodgepodge of odd combinations, all too sweet and weirdly thick and sticky, but not in a good way. The fries were somewhat better and my daughter’s chicken tenders were just ok. Even the ice cream was meh, and this is Wisconsin! But a train delivered them! This is a typical Wisconsin Dells, over the top, cheesy location with the usual quality of food for the area. Tourist oriented and unapologetic for it. But a train gave my daughter the delight of her week, and for that alone they get 4 stars. 2 stars for the food if you decide to stop here.

First I would have given the restaurant a 3 had our server not acted like we were a burden on her. Secondly, the buffet needs more variety and quite honestly its sad looking, I would get rid of it. For the amount of money they charge $ 12.99 per adult and about $ 8.99 per kid I would have expected a little more like at Pizza Pub. However, with that being said, the place was clean and I would definitely order from the menu. So that was my mistake. We will definitely go back to eat from the menu. We also let the server know it was out daughter’s birthday, she got a little sundae on the train but it would have been nice for them to sing to her.

Great for kids and adults! My family and I were vacationing in the Dells when we thought about giving this a try. So pleased that we did. The atmosphere was perfect for keeping a very busy 2 year old and 10 month old occupied long enough for mom and dad to get a bite to eat. We loved that every seat has a train that runs past it. Definitely a MUST in our book!

During our first night in the Dells, we took our girls here as our friends recommended the place. We also had our friends and their kids with us, so we were expecting a long wait for 8 people, but we only were at the bar long enough to order some cheese balls and sample a few drinks. The whole concept is that your food is delivered by train, which the kids loved, but there were issues. Every kid wanted to touch the train as it came by so all of the parents were reminding them not to touch the train. Then some of the plates were not balanced properly on the train cars, so they crashed to the floor… luckily is wasn’t our food. Again, it was something different to experience and the food was good and priced well. The four of us ate for under $ 60 with tip, including drinks and appetizers.

It’s all about the trains delivering your meals and drinks here. Entrees featuring pulled chicken or pulled pork were the choice of my fellow diners. They don’t come sauced as your table is given a tub of BBQ sauces to choose from. There was a good assortment of flavors but they didn’t help with the dry meats. You get a basket that contains your sandwich and it’s overflowing with fries, probably to make up for the pricey cost-most meals ranging from $ 10 – 15. Unlimited salad bar or a personal pan pizza were cheapest at $ 8. The trains were the highlight as it delivered drinks, meals, refills, and condiments to each table. Toys, such as a mangy Elmo, are placed on flat beds of the train ensemble to ooh and ahh about. Only once did we have to protect our meals from bubbles being blown our way. Great for the kids, not so much for the adults. The amusement wore out as we took too long to order and ended up waiting a while for our food to arrive. We were a party of two tables and the other table was done eating by the time we got our food. Service was decent with water and drink refills, but diminished as we were ending our meal and waiting for to go boxes and the bill. Typical touristy foods for more than it’s worth. It’s the environment and its proximity to Knuckleheads that gets you here. After spending $ at games, rides, and tickets, it only makes sense to plop more $ to accessible food. You will be too pooped out to go elsewhere.

I’ve been here several times– The good: Great food, variety to chose from in the menu, The little train delivering our food and drink is great and keeps the kids entertained(Ill upload a photo or video) the pulled pork and roast chicken are my 2 favorites along with the bucket of sauces they hand out, the atmosphere is always fun. The not so good: The line to be seated can be long during peak times but they do have an upstairs also. I suggest at lunch times arrive no later than 11:15am. I’ve had slow service a handful of times here. It must be worth the wait, I keep coming back!

Great place to eat! Loved the atmosphere! The kids got a kick out of the toy trains which deliver your food and little surprises for the young ones! Just about every table gets their order delivered by train! The food is delicious, although like most places in the Dells you’re going to pay a lot for it! The staff was very friendly and would smile and say hello in passing. Didn’t have a bad wait time, and they have pagers to alert you when a table is ready. All in all a great place. Definitely need to check out the attached indoor play park!

This is a fun, kitschy place to bring the kids. Yes, your food is literally delivered by model train. The food itself is similar in quality to other Wisconsin Dells touristy eateries: tasty and well made, but not gourmet. The place is nicely decorated and has lots of seating. There is a large game room attached in the back. If you want to keep the kids out of the game room, this is not the place to go – you have to walk into the game room to get to the restrooms.

If I could I would give this place zero stars. Horrible experience! We got there at 6:45 and told 1 hour and 20 min wait. We spent more money for the kids to go jump on their trampolines. That was a money pit too. We were seated at 8:15. Our waitress didn’t seem to know the food products and my daughter wanted her hamburger on a bunch not the roll. The waitress didn’t understand this. She had a foreign accent as well. It took over an hour for our food to be served and it was cold. The corn on the cob tasted old and was chewy. Kids food came on the train, adults didn’t. She came back once to ask how our food was. We finally were asked at almost 9:45 pm if we wanted dessert. Took another 20 min for her to say 2 of the desserts were sold out. We finally got our check at 10:45 and she never took off the 2 desserts we didn’t get. The manager was apologetic but a four hour experience there is really ridiculous. It was overpriced. Never again going there. Telling me this was the waitresses first year in America is not going to Diffuse my anger. They need to hire staff that at least understand the product and be able to distinguish between a bun and a roll. Jeez!

Don’t be fooled by the pictures in the menu… Everything we had(onion rings, wings, bacon wrapped shrimp, chicken Alfred pasta) tasted undercooked, old and yucky. The server took care of our food since we complained a lot about everything pretty much. I didn’t expect much from restaurant near the resorts, but this was way below our expectation. Way. Below. My son loved the train and deco but even he(9yr old) didn’t like the food.

A little pricy(so is everything in the Dells)…but the food was good. Staff(our waiter) was great. They have a large menu so there is something for everyone. A fun place for little kids. If you have kids, make sure you get a table that the train stops by. Your food and drinks will come by train. Young kids will get a kick out of it.

The food and service here at Buffalo Phil’s is industry standard. It is a fun spot for families because everything is served by a toy train that comes around to each table, which we all enjoyed! We were not quite sure if you could take the little toys off of the train, so that shall remain a mystery. We did not check out the arcade/game room next door(Knuckleheads) but we will put that on the to-do list. Aside from the little train, there was not much to bring us back.

We had a wonderful time. This is a must for any family that wants a unique dining experience. When we arrived we had a choice of regular dining or train served dining. If you have younger kids, go for the train dining. It was pretty cool to say the least. The food was very good and the BBQ meats Brisket, chicken, pulled pork and ribs were very good and simply«fell apart». If you are really hungry I would suggest the«Fat Man» BBQ platter. This thing is chuck full of food. They are not stingy with there portions, plenty to eat. If you like Root beer I would suggest giving this a try. It is home made and very refreshing. The prices here are comparable to the other touristy places in the Dells, nothing cheap around here. However I think this was the first place I left where I feel like I got my money’s worth. If we come back to the Dells will definitely add to the list of places to re-visit.
