This restaurant is decently priced with good food and has a townie feel to it. But that’s the problem. If you haven’t been going there for 10+ years then do not expect good service. There is one waitress my boyfriend and I got stuck with last time who does not pay any attention whatsoever. Good luck if you have her!

1 star for delivering breakfast. Another star for having tasty breakfast… I have ordered from here multiple times. Food taste ok. Goid enough to continue to order once in a while. Problem? Well they have forgotten items multiple time. Say i order two orange juices. They will only send one and i don’t notice because they shove it in the same bag as all of the food. Charged for two only got one. Eh what ever some ppl would complain to the restaurant and make a big fuss. I just deal with it and hope they get it right next time They charge for pancake toppings like whipped cream. But don’t expect to receive any even though you have paid for it. Some times the ham is grilled. Some times its not. Sometimes you order via grubhub and they deny your order. Cheesy eggs are good chocolate chip pancakes are good toast is buttery mmm

I don’t know what the secret recipe it is, but the pancakes at High Tide are really great. The best tasting pancakes I’ve had in the Boston area. Otherwise, the food is above average, and the service is about average. But this place is definitely on our list as a regular weekend breakfast destination.

Love this place! Its casual and inexpensive and the food is always good. Nothing fancy, but good stick to the rib diner food. Can get crowed but nothing unusual for a local breakfast place.

Service was okay at most. Should have been better for the small size of the restaurant. Also needs to accept debit/credit cards. There is no point in having an atm in there charging you $ 3 for a $ 10 breakfast. Needs to be updated.

Hands down the best breakfast in Winthrop! Do yourself a favor and order the stuffed french toast with apples and cream cheese. Amazing!

Accidental discovery. Little Gem. Great old style american breakfast place. Very cute. Went there twice. It was ¾ full on Tuesday 10.30 am. Today(on Saturday) brunch it was crowded with lots of local people. Try waffles with cinnamon or fruits. I preferred it with cinnamon. It was done perfectly just like a Belgium waffle. I loved the way my omelet with asparagus was done(and I eyed the egg Benedict my sitting neighbor had. She is a frequent customer coming from Revere.). Tiny glasses of juices are complementary. Coffee is good, typical coffee. Service is fast. I enjoy sitting by the counter and watching the food being made by the cook. Unilocal has a deal now: 3 $ off. The food price is not expensive at all. My half-waffel(semi-circle/half-plate) and 2 coffees = $ 3.50 And Waffel+ 2 coffees+ bottled juice+ omlete with asparagus = $ 12+

What a great breakfast meal here. So much food for the low cost. Cheryl is a great waitress, very attentive and great smile. Always puts a smile on my family faces. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a good meal.

Food and service are usually always amazing. Got a server this time that I’ve never seen before. Because me and my friend are in our twenties and had tattoos I think the server assumed we would not tip and we were rushed through our meal. I assume this women is new and it is no reflection on the restaraunt or rest of the staff. However low and behold I manage a cooperate chain restaraunt and always tip amazing because I have served and bartended. Sad to see people being so judgmental and loosing out on a good tip because of predispositions.

How this place has so many decent reviews, I’ll never understand. I came here a few years back and had a pretty bad experience. I wasnt looking for«fine dining» but edible food wouldve been nice. I only ended up drinking my coffee and the like 10 home fries I got with my eggs. Was back this morning and Im pretty sure theyre only surviving off an older crowd of locals. Awful. My eggs and ham were spoiled. Like legit expired. I still cant get the taste out of my mouth. Told the waitress what I thought and her response was«Oh you don’t like the food?». Um of course I dont. It tasted like it was made 3 weeks ago. We did order something else and it was nothing to rave about. Needless to say, I wont ever give it a third chance. Ill stick to the other local mom and pop breakfast joints.

If you like those old time diners for breakfast, then you’ll love Hi-Tide. Definitely a great neighborhood spot, everyone seemed to know one another. Typical of most of these places, has a great line of counter stools overlooking the waitress station and flat top grill, which was great for me, as I stopped in by myself. The food was just what you would expect, it is what it is, and the staff was very nice. What gave it an extra star for me was the cook, Steve.(I think) Working in restaurants myself forever, I was impressed. I definitely enjoyed the show, not only is he one of the best I’ve seen, he obviously loves his work, joyfully singing aloud and interacting with the customers, left me in a great mood when I walked out the door. Cooking perfect eggs, every way possible is not easy, 5 stars for him. Great place to stop if you’re on your way to the beach.

.Rude, rude, rude. We had been patrons for a long time; bringing in our family, our children. I talked my mom into going. I really liked their wraps. My husband went to pickup one day, and was treated horribly. The order was wrong, the server was incredibly rude(not kidding) and took forever. I called and talked to the manager just to see if I could make things right, no avail. He just didn’t care. So I dont. We used to go every weekend with a family of four. Haven’t been since.

Awesome! Suggested to us by the little close-to-Logan-airport hotel that we stayed at, in Winthrop, MA(in October 2014) This is a REAL neighborhood diner, with REAL food, and REAL local customers. I think my wife and I were the only people in the place that weren’t on a first name basis with all the other people in the place… but no matter… they made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was great. Check it out, if you ever find yourself in Winthrop, MA.

Very good and the workers there are wonderful. Food is home made and it’s well prepared. Best value in the Boston area for breakfast. I’m going there again today.

Great, no frills joint. Coffee could be stronger. Good breakfast, great lunch sandwiches. To top it off, it’s very affordable. I’ve been here a few times and have never been disappointed; great diner style food!

This isn’t the best breakfast I’ve ever had, but this might be the best breakfast deal I’ve ever had. I got 2 eggs, 3 slices of bacon, 2 pieces of toast, a solidly large pile of potatoes, a large iced coffee, and then paid the tip for under $ 10. It’s seriously the most amazing thing. I also find it weirdly charming since so many local people come here. It’s a must-go after a night out, too.

I’ve only had breakfast here and it was pretty average. Nothing special. Nothing awful. Except the coffee. The coffee is the terrible diner coffee you expect but always hope it isn’t. Cash only.

Not the greatest but definitely not bad! After living down the street for almost five years, I’ve FINALLY gotten to eat breakfast here. It was pretty good. Of course, me wanting everything for breakfast I got a combo which had eggs, meat of choice, toast, pancakes and home fries. Everything was really good and was super filling. You may end up sitting with others that you don’t know, but this is something that often happens in Winthrop. We are friendly people so just deal with it, mmkay? Lastly, breakfast for two of us was about $ 10, total. thats right. TOTAL. Dinner…this is a whole different story. I really wanted to like the fact that they are now open for dinner but it just wasn’t that good. I had the meatloaf, it needed salt. I never put salt on food… but this was just meat and peppers. It was tough to eat. The sides were instant tasteless mashed potatoes and canned green beans. I felt so embarassed for them, but in all fairness they had just begun dinner. Their mac and cheese was actually pretty good, a huge portion of creamy, rich macaroni and cheese yum. Chicken parm… again, needed salt… anything to add flavor! I’ll try again for dinner, hopefully they’ve perfected the bland food, but they definitely have some good options! If they pass the test then this will become four stars yay!
