Very nice atmosphere. Very satisfying portions. Super duper busy on Fridays. Had the smoked pork chop and it was tender and delicious

Atmosphere is rustic and cozy, food is fabulous. Lasagne with sausage, incredible! Pizza by NY standards, awesome. best place to eat in a 20 mile radius.

Have been to this restaurant a few times. Consistently average. I have tried different items on the menu, the one thing I tried this last time was the beef stew. It was extremely good. On a cold night, it would be even better. Nothing else has ever really stood out. We always sit at the bar. On a Saturday at 5, we were 2 of 4 people in the bar. The bartender guy seemed nice enough but was really slow on everything. Slow to acknowledge us. Slow to take our drink order. Slow to make the drinks. Slow to come back when they were clearly empty. We might have stayed longer for another cocktail after dinner but it seemed too much effort for us to get served. I’d go back for the beef stew but not for much else. Might just need to get it to go though.

Had the best experience here last night. My parents and I came in on a Friday evening and waited for a table for maybe 15 minutes. Which was fine because… bar. We had a booth table in the upstairs area and it was quiet and nice. My father had a pizza, my mother had a chicken breast and I had the center cut steak cooked medium rare. Let’s just say everything was Amazeballs. Cooked to perfection! All 3 dishes were wonderful and just what we were looking for. On top of the amazing food, we had an amazing waitress named Brit. Top notch girl. Thanks for the amazing service and a badass relaxed Friday dinner. We will be back soon!

My husband and I very rarely get out for a date night with just the two of us so when we go out we obviously look for the places that we feel will give us the best experiences. We had gone to Stone Creek Grill probably 4 or 5 times before this and received ok service but I figured it was Friday night they do an all you can eat fish fry the service has to be better than their slower nights. Yea that would be a no. The service was horrible. No fault of the waitress we had really. She was WAY over her head with tables. BUT the problem was that the other sections were not that busy. So while we would wait 5 – 7 minutes for her to bring our drink back to the table, or for her to quickly answer a question about the menu there were other servers and especially the hostesses screwing around and goofing off. I actually had to get up and go and ask one of them to get me sugar for my table. After experiencing all of this and getting subpar food (not good enough for what we pay) I will not be going back to this establishment. It’s unfortunate because we are really in need of a GREAT restaurant in Winthrop Harbor we have enough just ok ones.

On our way back from Kenosha we decided to pick the first spot open for lunch (not a bar) and landed here. Great big cabin Northwoods feel. I ordered the Italian beef and it was great with mozzarella and peppers. The kids meal cheeseburger was the size of an adult meal but that was fine. Also had the fish sandwich and it was awesome on flavor and breading, the only thing to make it better would be the bread to be soft instead of toasted.

Worst restaurant meal ever, nasty thin «whitefish» with a metallic taste, stale bread on plate, mayo, not tarter sauce, and about 2T lousy cole slaw jammed into a tiny cup. Owner comped the meal. About .50 worth of terrible food priced at $ 15,49! Waitress was lovely and said fish was being taken off the menu

Been a here a few times. Food is decent, waitresses are friendly. Nothing here will really blow you away. I will say the clam chowder on Fridays is pretty good though. There’s not really any signature dish in my opinion. Not much else around the immediate area, so they’ve got that going for them. Some of the dishes are priced ridiculously (lobster ravioli) for the portion size.
Overall, if I’m in the area I’d go back.

They have good food and always excellent service my favorite food is the rib eye sandwich with anions and cheese and onion rings

3 of us came in at 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon. The place was pretty crowded, presumably due to the Bears game, but there appeared to be open tables. The host told us there would be a wait. We asked how long, he said he didn’t know. We asked if he could even ballpark it for us, like half-​hour, hour, more? Nope. He said he had no idea. WTF!!! You do work there, don’t you?
We decided not to sign on for an indefinite wait, so we went down Sheridan Rd. and decided to try The Other Place. Everything we had there was delicious, and the service was attentive and friendly, so I doubt we’ll bother giving Stone Creek another try when we’re in that area.

I have been here 3 times now and they are always out of the dessert I want. They should improve their dessert menu and availability as that to me is the best part of the experience. Will not be back because it’s too disappointing.

5 Stars. as you walk up the building and surrounding area is beautiful. The hostess was accommodating and very friendly. The atmosphere is as if I walked into an authentic northwoods lodge. Beautiful! We were a party of 5. Chelsea was our waitress and is one of the best we have EVER had at any restaurant. We had an elderly person with us and Chelsea was so patient and attentive! What a pleasure! The food was great. Our meals ranged from Pulled Pork to Popcorn Chicken and everything was so tasty and fresh. We ordered the Parmesean covered potato fries with Ranch Dressing and they were awesome! I would HIGHLY recommend Stone Creek to anyone looking for a casual meal with great prices and EXCELLENT service!

Party of 3 arrived around 6:45 pm. They had two parties scheduled. The place was packed and we were given a waiting time of 30 minutes. We decided to wait. We were seated in approximately 15 minutes. The two hostesses were wonderful and on the ball. They kept apologizing but the crowd was a good thing for business and out of their control. No problem. We all ordered the bread crumb Cod. Got our food HOT and tasty in less that 10 minutes. Our server checked our drinks and was available for any concerns that we had. The Cod was in chunks. Very moist, tasty and not greasy at all. We were offered different potato choices. I do not care for potatoes. The other two ladies ordered fries and received waffle fries. I tried them and they were very tasty. I chose the mixed veggies. No butter or salt. Thank you very much, Enjoyed the natural sweetness. They were crispy, warm and a great variety of vegetables. The coleslaw was creamy and tasty. Great portions for a great price $ 9.45 each. We ladies all took left overs home and were very full. I will be going back. The pizza looked amazing. For the vegan comment 7÷1÷2014, go to a vegan restaurant. I do not go to a vegan restaurant and asked for more meat dishes. This is the mid west. They are slow in catching up to todays demands. They had baked potatoes which I am sure they would have filled with the mixed veggies that I had or what ever was in season at the time of your visit. Just saying. No disrespect to you, Tabitha L. So pick the chicken piece out. Did you complain to management when you were in the restaurant.
It was very warm in the restaurant and humid outside. It could have been a bit cooler with the large crowd.

Very slow un-​attentive service. Poor options for vegetarians. I knew that going in there. So I ordered one of the only meatless options and found a piece of chicken mixed in the veggies. They got me a new one, same thing. I won’t be back. Rather get a baked potato from Wendy’s. On a happy note they have good waffle fries.

Have great menu for lunch and dinner with original home made recipes. Food is delicious and portions are nice (you will probably take some home) and reasonably priced. Dinner specials vary so the variety is great! Also have kids stuff and oven baked pizza! This place is really good — with a great comfy atmosphere.
Highly recommend — but warn that on weekend nights you may have to wait. Go early or after 8 on the weekends.

We were golfing in Zion and wanted to eat after golf. Based on the Unilocal reviews we thought we would give this a try.
Our waitress Kate was fantastic and she had a great accent, it sounded like she was from Minnesota. When she approached, I asked if they had a gluten free menu and she looked confused and said no. I guess people in that area do not have gluten allergies.
The good news there are plenty of choices on the menu that will allow someone with Gluten allergy eat without an issue. So far I have not been impacted by cross contamination, so I guess I will roll the dice.
My partner ordered the smoked pork chops, and I wished I had as well. They looked and smelled yummy. I ordered the rib eye which was like a rib eye you may have purchased at Walmart or Sam’s, but you could not complain about the price. The rib eye was good and cook to medium as requested. If you are expecting a Chicago steak, then you are in the wrong place.
My partner also ordered the beef stew, and he was very happy and surprised how good it was. He was trying to figure out how to get to this location after we finish outlet mall shopping in the winter.
The décor was as many Unilocalers described, like a log cabin. It was very comfortable and was a relaxing place to visit after a round of golf.
We did see people ordering pizza, and as you know Chicagoans are picky about their pizza, so I think it would depend on if you are willing to try something new.
If you are looking for something fancy, then you need to go downtown Chicago. If you are looking for someplace casual and good food, I would recommend Stone Creek Grill.
For the area, it is probably one of the better dinning experiences.

You get the feel you are in the back woods when you enter this friendly neighborhood place. Great burgers and ribs. The best Chicken Chili I have eaten. The bar is friendly with both the staff and the other customers. The food is consistent and the pizza is very popular. Great drink prices too!

The décor is very much like a ski lodge, the food is pretty good if you’re a carnivore. Must try the stoney fries, they are delicious fries topped with parmesan cheese with ranch dressing dip. The portions are huge.
The only con I have for this place is, get more vegetarian options.
Service is friendly, food is filling, what more can you ask for?

Friendly folks, decent fare. Probably not going to find much better in the area.
