Surprise gem of a find! Absolutely enjoyed our wine tasting experience, for once, wine tasting is genuinely wine tasting! Great atmosphere on the patio, and it has a sister brewery next door which is a super lively with live music on a Saturday and absolutely family-friendly! The winery itself was less crowded but feels classy as such, and the tasting process has none of the vibe of a commercial gig so often felt in the Cali winery areas. Very reasonable tasting fee, and waived with bottle purchase. Props to Tian and Tony on shift who were simply knowledgeable and passionate about ensuring we go home with a bottle we love! We enjoyed the way they described the wines and the vineyard — needless to say we took home a bottle of red and enjoyed an hour on the patio sipping away with some lunch(there was a food truck!) Perfect pit stop experience for us enroute to Redding from SF. :)

Came in while I was waiting for a table at Putah Creek Café. The tasting room is warm and inviting. The tastes are a dollar each for a very generous pour and when I came they were tasting 5 reds starting with a Barbera and ending with a Petite Syrah. They waive the tasting fee if you purchase a wine, which is awesome. Their Cabernet Sauvignon was excellent but at 40 dollars or a bottle, not really affordable for a graduate student. I also really liked their 2013 Malbec(20 $ a bottle) but the guy working(so nice and friendly!) there recommended the 2012 Malbec based on what I liked about the 2013 so I ended up purchasing that.

This is a simply great place to go and sit outside and have a beer. There is a fantastic selection of home brewed beers ranging from light to dark and everything in between. A local band will also play there quite often and you get the local food trucks turning up. Over the last year or so the outside seating has expanded and it is also now covered to give you some respite from the hot California sun — beer, music, food — what’s not to like.

I was in town visiting my friend and she brought me here for a wine tasting. The place was great! Great atmosphere and the staff seems laid back and easy going. We started with a wine tasting in their tasting room which is nice and casual. They had some great wines, my favorite was the Barbera, and I didn’t think I liked red wines! hey had some olive oil in the room that looked interesting, I had never tried olive oils before. The elderberry olive oil was delicious, I had never tasting anything like it! I definitely picked up a bottle. After the tasting we got a glass of wine and sat outside on the beautiful patio. It was so relaxing and peaceful that I could have stayed there all day. We stopped at another winery after and although that place was great, we ended back at Berryessa. My friend wanted to do a beer flight but I went back for another glass of the Barbera. A bonus is that they shipped to my home state! I would def go back if I am in the area again!

You know when you have people in town and you feel like you must show them all the California things the entire time? And then you’re really exhausted/spoiled when you start thinking an hour and a half is «sooo far»? After two weeks of family and friends and a million other things, I was not feeling the idea of driving out to Napa to do the whole wine tasting thing. I hopped on Unilocal and found Berryessa Gap Vineyards and Turkovich Wines, both of which I have driven by a bunch of times and not stopped at, what a shame! I can’t believe I’ve been hoofing it to Napa when this little gem is so close! Berryessa Gap Vineyards offers loads of parking. Easy to find and easy to get to. The tasting room is very unassuming and not loaded with tchotchkes that you sometimes find at tasting rooms. Pretty simple, here’s our wine, here’s some local olive oils we offer, and you’re greeted by a very friendly staff member right away! I’d say these guys, and gals, offer more of a lighter wine. I suppose I’m more of a darker red wine kind of woman, but I still found a great 2014 Chardonnay that was perfect. My guest, who told everyone she hated red wine fell in love with the 2012 Barbera! It’s more of a Pinot Noir depth, but she loved it none the less! Some fun facts, they ship! Anywhere you want your wine to go, no worries, let them box it and deliver it to you — including the East Coast. They share a large parking lot, building and bathrooms and patio with Berryessa Brewing Company. Just know that wine and beer may only be enjoyed at the same time at the tables on the brewery side bordering the chain divider. Weird, but that’s the law there. Also, the brewing company does not share the same hours, and is run by different people, so the experience and the hours are completely different. The patio is also dog friendly and offers plenty of shade. I am bringing friends back! Join the wine club here and you can also use the facility. They do tours in addition to tastings but we only indulged in the wine on this trip — call or e-mail them for those reservations.

Omg! Love this place! Randomly stopped here on my way to the SF bay and what a cute place! They have a brewery and a winery at the same location with an amazing outside patio area with a bocce ball court. Crystal was so nice and knowledgeable about their wines. Cheers!

Lovely spot to taste some wine, especially if you’re lucky enough to go when Krista is working! She is just so positive and energetic that she makes the whole experience fun. I love how knowledgeable, but unpretentious she is too. Makes wine tasting a whole lot more fun when you aren’t feeling self conscious about whether or not you’re doing it right. Plus, the modest tasting fees are waived if you buy a bottle of wine so its a good deal. Thank you Krista! We’ll be back.

Had the best time. We really enjoyed our time with Krista. She gave us that real personal touch. I really enjoyed the tour, Corrin explained the process in great detail. I now appreciate all that goes into making a bottle of wine. I will appreciate every drop of wine of drink.

I must start by saying I do not know much about wine. I usually prefer beer, but I had friends visiting in town and they wanted the California wine experience. We had such a great time wine tasting here. The bartender was fun, friendly, and loved teaching us about the wines. The environment is very relaxed. There is a bocci court outside and a covered patio, as well as an air-conditioned bar inside. The wine was delicious and I learned that I like Malbecs!

Berryessa Gap has a variety of delicious wines to choose from! The tasting room associate, Crystal, made the experience at Berryessa Gap a true treat! She was very knowledgable about each wine and her bubbly personality made me want to stay longer and enjoy the atmosphere of the tasting room!
