This restaurant needs to be closed down. The food was very disappointing and the whole place needs a thorough cleaning and a lot of repairs.

We arrived a little early for our reservation an were seated about 15 minutes later. Our server took our drink order about 15 minutes later. We ordered and we were served bread. Each time during our one hour wait we had to ask for more bread. Fortunately the salad bar was self serve; however our grandson found a plastic wrapper in the lettuce. Finally we received our food. An hour later. The owner reduced our charge by only 20% and made a nasty comment about not charging for the food our grandkids ate. They were helping me since I can not use my left arm. We will not be back to this restaurant and do not recommend it.

We have not been back to the Winter Park area for 3 years and we were glad to see that Steve still has a great place to enjoy a beer at the bar or a great meal in the restaurant. The service in the restaurant was outstanding. The food was quite enjoyable. We will make Strip and Tail a must visit every time we are here.

Cute atmosphere, really nice server, but food was def. subpar and over priced. I got the Kobe which they claim on the menu is the best ever, prob. one of the worse steaks I’ve ever had. My company got the bone in ribeye which was also horrible. He gave me a piece and after a small bite I gave it back. Both completely over cooked and flavorless. Very disappointed. What came to over $ 100 meal tasted like something from country buffet.

Came in on a whim for dinner. Had lobster with mashed potatoes and broccoli. My dad had the new York strip with broccoli and a baked potato. Food was fresh and very tasty. Serve yourself salad bar is small but very fresh. Live music a nice touch. Service was very friendly and attentive.

For starters our waitress was baked out of her mind the entire time we were there. We were coming off a day of skiing so we were pretty thirsty and constantly had to ask for more water from other people than our waitress. The food was mediocre at best(I had the wild game burger). The burger was overcooked and was supposed to come topped with bacon that was nowhere in sight until I asked for it. The only highlight in the meal was the garlic potatoes that were actually pretty good.

This place is terrible. I brought my family here while we were on vacation. We had a party of 13 and not one off us liked out plates. The chicken fried stake was burnt and you could not even cut into it. The prime rib was cold. Overall very disappointed in the food.

My wife, her brother, a friend, and I visited Strip & Tail on 1÷8÷16 for a birthday dinner. We were seated fairly quick and the service was good. Right off the bat we had a problem. The sign outside said that it was a whole live lobster night… yet they waited until after seating us to tell us there were none — «due to quality». They should have told this to us before seating us. We were tired and didn’t feel like looking for another place — so we made do with the rest of the menu… I had the Ribeye steak which seemed a «little» more chewy then most Ribeye’s I’ve enjoyed. The seasoning was great and it was cooked perfectly which made up for the«chewy» part of the meal. The creamed spinach was an odd rendition(heavy cream?) but the spinach was fresh and it was tasty. The caesar salad was bland and nothing to write home about — so you might as well get the salad from the salad bar instead. My wife said her lobster tail was delicious but was disappointed with the Cheese cake desert. Our friend said his Wedge Salad was good. My brother-in-law said his steak was good and he absolutely LOVED his Rum & Coke too. The lava cake desert was very good too. Overall I’d give this establishment about a 3 rating but there was one final part to our night that really made it better… LIVE Entertainment :) I forget the woman’s name but she was playing a «piano»(synth) and singing during our dinner. It was light enough that it wasn’t intrusive on conversation but if you wanted to listen you could hear her without difficulty. She came over to us and got others in the place to sing Happy Birthday to my wife and her twin. She was a real gem and made our dinner there much better overall. Call ahead to see if they have entertainment and you’ll have a good meal.

The service is good and the food is too. The filet is a solid choice and the value is hard to compare. I think they could try fewer items on the menu and specialize on signature dishes. The menu is huge with an overwhelming number of choices. Sometimes fewer is better.

Had a reservation, and were crammed into a small area upstairs. Food was mediocre and over cooked. Loaded baked potato consisted of a teaspoon of sour cream and a about 12 shreds of cheese. My daughters broccoli was cold.

This place is an absolute joke. Save yourself the time and money and do not eat here. Service was mediocre, but the worst part was the food. We had a party of 17 and three people HAD to send back their steak. It literally tasted sour, absolutely disgusting. It was legitimately dangerous to eat, it was THAT bad. When the individuals who sent back their plates received their replacement entrée and the Salmon was raw. No joke raw, they brought it out within 10 minutes of the reorder. This place was expensive too… Totally not worth it. They also had the audacity to bring out this ridiculous hat they forced my mom to wear for their birthday club, like it was some time of honor to be associated with this establishment. Very disappointed and will never be returning.

Saw the sign as we were driving down the highway for all you can eat prime rib and called to make reservations. It was so delicious and really reasonably priced too(only $ 24 and includes a salad bar trip and two sides)!! Kids meal was good too! Pretty classy place and kid friendly. Would totally recommend it to anyone looking for a nice dinner or an awesome prime rib dinner!

I’ll give it one star so as not to short– change our server, Liz. She was about the only positive in our experience. DON’T waste your time and money. Steaks were like leather, prime rib was raw drenched in aus ju to cover. Nasty. Green beans were obviously canned, cold and unappealing. Management didn’t’teven have the decency to address our concerns. There are lots of other places on town and won’t leave you feeling like you just flushed $ 160 down the toilet.

The only reason I am giving this place one star is because I can’t give negative stars. I ordered the NY strip steak. This was a contender for the worst steak I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant. When it came out it was huge, which I liked at first. When I cut into it, I saw it was riddled with fat and gristle. Though it was large, I had to hunt for an edible piece of meat that I could actually swallow. The outside was charred, not seared. Don’t let the sides talk you into coming here. The baked potato was old and had to have been reheated. It had coagulated cheese on top. It was barely edible. The broccoli was pale, mushy, overcooked and completely inedible. Gross. The bread and salad bar were passable, but not enough to save this meal. Stay away. There has to be a better steak in this town, for the love of God. Also, it was super weird that the waitresses sit down and hang out at the bar when they aren’t helping a table… it just looks kind of weird.

Meehhh… This place is average at best and on the spendy side for the quality of food. We had a fairly large party of 8 so I will cut them a little slack but the service was just barely average and they messed up a few of our orders. I ordered a filet mignon which was good and cooked perfectly to the temp I requested, however it came out bacon wrapped which I did not order and do not usually like. I also ordered creamed spinach as aside and it was the strangest rendition of creamed spinach I have ever tasted, it was like steamed spinach with heavy cream poured on it, not very good. Fine dining choices in Winter Park are limited so you get what you get. Next time I am in town I will try out one of the other steak houses in town before I go back to Strip & Tail

Great place! They had live music on Friday night to make this steakhouse experience complete. Our table of 3 had the Surf & Turf daily special, the snow crab legs, and the 22oz ‘cowboy’ steak. 2 of us had some dietary restrictions(whole30 — no dairy, no added sugar) and the kitchen was accommodating.

January 3rd, 2015. I really enjoyed this place! This is my first time in Colorado, I am staying at the Winter Park Resort. This was about a 7 min drive for me. The atmosphere here was great. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and nice. The place was clean and the food was perfectly cooked. I had the 8oz steak and my boyfriend has the fish and chips. There was a a one man band there and he was fabulous! The music wasn’t too loud or overpowering. I overall really liked this place and would recommend it to other vacationers wanted to eat at a fun, clean, delicious restaurant.

Terrible! I came to this restaurant last Spring, ordered a prime rib philly and had to send it back because it was literally all fat, mixed with grease from the grill. Despite my protests, my family wanted to try it again this Dec. I ordered a salad(because how can you screw up a salad?) and got a plate of spinach with over-cooked chicken and spoiled, dried out goat cheese. I sent it back because it was completely inedible. I was prompted once again to come to this restaurant by my group(who wanted steaks) and decided not to waste my time ordering anything at all. Our spinach dip appetizer tasted like onions & old cheese, had no spinach or peppers, and was delivered with cold pita bread. Someone else ordered the elk medallions and had to send them back because they tasted like shoe leather dipped in vinegar. Our waitress was terrible, we had to get up and find her two of the three times she came to our table. All three times at this place were absolutely awful. I’d rather eat at McDonald’s, and I haven’t even eaten fast food in nearly a decade.

Place is cute but with the prices they charge they could really step out up a lil bit. Doesn’t cost too much to bring that salad bar up a level from iceberg lettuce to a romaine or something that actually had nutritional value. Bread seemed like something from a discount store… not worth eating. I wanted beef and was talked into buffalo by the waitress, which was $ 10 more btw, and it was meh… cooked well but the alleged steamed green beans that seemed mushy and microwaved fed my disappointment with my meal. My sweetie had the salmon florentine which was unnecessarily loaded up with chunks of garlic and kinda ruined by that. The musical variety playing during dinner was entertaining and quite varied, not really dinner music but obviously someones favorite mixtape lol
