Floridino’s Italian Kitchen

I’m giving a lower rating because their hype is better than their menu. It’s basically pizza and their pizza is just average. Service was adequate but they had trouble keeping up with orders because a large group had come in.

We go here about twice a month. The antipasto salad is huge. The pizza rolls are excellent and the beer is always cold and a good price! f

Capriccio Italien in Winter Haven FL:
In a cozy area just outside the Spring Lake Square mall is a nice little Italian restaurant that incorporates the Florida ambiance with genuine Italian quinine. This is Floridino’s which claims: «Home of the Largest Calzone» which was a record set in April 1991 by owner: Mike Floridino (hmm it’s a real name, go figure). But the day I was here I just ordered the stuffed manicotti with meatballs, to go. My wait was reasonable considering the capacity for a Friday late afternoon/​evening. And the price was equally as fair. Not in the mood for dinner? They have a full page of breakfast selections as well.

I absolutely love this place! The staff are very nice, the ingredients are fresh, and the food is outstanding! I have been twice so far and loved it both times. I definitely plan on going back again to try the other things on their menu.

We happened to be in the area for a tent sale event and stopped in on a Sunday. Small place and waitresses are super friendly! We got calzones and they were VERY good. Husband had the buffalo one and I had the Tuscan chicken. We we’re back again 3 months later. Place had just had a baseball team or something, but we were seated and the tables were cleaned quickly. Ordered wings with their hot hot sauce. HUGE WINGS! Sauce not too hot but VERY tasty! Husband got spaghetti with meatball. Okay. I got a small chicken with artichoke garlic tomato and bleu cheese. AMAZING! YUM YUM. worth a try! Everything seems to be made with heart. Also grab the coupon book on the way in. They have coupons in it!

This visit was just ok. It took awhile to be waited on once we sat down. I should have known, because a table next to us ask a server about their food and said they’d been waiting 35 minutes. It took at least that long to get our food, and once it came out, it was lukewarm. It tasted good, but he was not hot at all. I bet it had been sitting for 20 minutes. We told the server and she apologized. She offered to heat it up, but we were ready to go. They did take 20% off our ticket for the food being cold.

I would have actually given them a higher rating if not for their service — the food is worth four stars, at least.
This casual pizza joint is nice for an informal family dinner or when you’re catching a game. They have a full bar, tv’s, and relaxed atmosphere — almost too relaxed. Our waitress was friendly, but it took her forever (we sat at the table for 8 – 10 min, waiting) to get to us and take our order. When she brought out our drinks, she literally threw the straws at the table. She wasn’t angry or bad-​tempered, and I get that she was trying to have a fun, cheeky attitude, but it didn’t work for me. It felt rude honestly. Other than that, she kept bringing out the wrong order and, for a table of hungry people, that was just torturous. lol.
The pizza and calzone were delicious. They aren’t lying when they advertise «World’s Largest Calzone». I didn’t have any of it, but my brother said it was amazing. The White Chicken Pizza tasted pretty good too; the crust was perfect — light, fluffy, and full of flavor. I usually hate crust, but their’s takes the cake.
Service was my only gripe, but I’d definitely be willing to come back for more of that pizza. Mmm.

What a disappointment. Heard mixed things about this place. Love Italian food it was this or Olive Garden. Boy did we pick wrong. The pizza muffins were ok but it was downhill from there. Ordered lasagna and Tuscan Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce was dripping in oil. Oil… In Alfredo sauce. It was some yellow off white color did not look or taste good at all. The lasagna was served with a frozen meatball cut in half, it was ok. The lasagna sauce had absolutely no flavor at all. It tasted just like canned tomato sauce.
The waitress was good at first but once we got our meal that was it. No refills, no checking on us. We stopped eating after a few bites and just sat there staring out the window. We waited and waited finally at over 20 minutes (no exaggeration, I watched) and after our waitress passed us 5 – 7 times without even looking at us I finally just got up and went to the bar to pay my bill. I mentioned I had waited 20 minutes and she never apologized or said anything.
Whatever… I work in food service so I am more understanding than most and tip better than most but I only left a $ 1 tip and that was way too much. I’ve never in my life left that low of a tip but the food was terrible and the service was atrocious.
