This is my 3rd time ordering Zito’s. The food is great and consistent. I’ve had the burger and fries. Burger is thick and seasoned well, the fries are fresh. Chicken wings are nice and crisp. We’ve had the Spanikopita a couple of times and it’s delicious, the dough is crisp and flaky. Was in the mood for something sweet and I ordered the cheesecake. I was not disappointed! It’s thick and creamy with a buttery graham cracker crust. Definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. The delivery is very quick.

I’m obsessed with their Greek salad – so fresh and such yummy house dressing – but the pizza is excellent. Also, the delivery is speedy, and people are very nice. I want to try everything on the menu! It’s hard to find great inexpensive good in this town, and Zito’s has nailed it.

One word, Poutine! Just like I had in Canada. For those who have never had poutine, think the best gravy fries with cheese at a diner after a long night out on the town. The owners were so friendly. It is not very big but it more than makes up for it in great fresh food. Great mom and pop place.

Staff was great. Pizza not so much. I ordered a Mediterranean pizza, which the menu said had garlic, but it was covered in raw garlic. No other flavor except a very acidic tomato sauce could be tasted. Not a fan of the poutine, the gravy was very salty. Take that comment how you like, we had never had that before so not sure if that is how it’s supposed to taste. Burger was also very dry.

Zitos Zitos Zitos, yes this place is simply fantastic. I even gave them an extra star for the Poutine. The place doesn’t have the the best curb appeal with it being behind a car dealership and all, but the interior is very clean. Extensive menu: salads, pizzas, gyros and did I mention Poutine. Oh and the word on the street is that might be getting a beer and wine license pretty soon. This will be on my list of places to grab Friday night take out! They deliver within a five mile radius, and if they are not busy they may go farther — just call and ask!

The BEST greek food in town! Their pizza is my new favorite. We tried the Philly steak sandwich, greek salad, pizza, and tiropita. Everything was amazing and can’t wait to try everything on the menu!

I was a little skeptical about all the rave reviews, but am happy to report that there is in fact real poutine in WS! What a pleasant surprise. The poutine was delicious. We had the traditional this time. The chicken souvlaki was moist and yummy. The cheese pizza had a nice chewy crust. The service was great as well. Angelo came over and chatted with us for a while. We’ll definitely be going back. I’ll have to work through the entire poutine menu.

I have a soft spot for small family owned and operated businesses. Coming from a family who came together in order to make a business successful, it’s amazing to see a business where the parents cook, the children take and service the orders, and the atmosphere feels genuine and honest. Now for the food review. Since we’re new to Zito’s, we ordered three dishes to share. We wanted to try some main staples for a full experience. We ordered their cheeseburger, a regular gyro, and a slice of pepperoni pizza. Everything was amazing and fresh. Things that stood out: the tzatziki sauce was amazing on the gyro. The pizza breading and crust was delicious and the red sauce was just enough to add to the taste. NY style pizza can easily make you feel like you’re only eating crust and cheese. Here, we were able to taste all the ingredients coming together for a full flavored dish. Pizza, simply made, can go so very wrong many times. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be coming back soon.

Everything we had tonight was awesome! Pizza, salad, gyros — it all tasted wonderful! The place is situated off the main road, so you will have to search for it but it is totally worth it!

My husband and I stumbled across this place, and we were pleased! We were worried when we walked in and only saw 12 tables, but it was quaint atmosphere. I got the chicken souvlaki dinner(Greek salad, rice, potatoes, and 2 sticks), and my husband got a Greek salad and spaghetti & meatballs, with bruschetta as our appetizer. I will say that both of our meals were great, filling, and had good flavor. The bruschetta was amazing! Did not expect this, and was pleasantly surprised. Next time, we will have that with feta cheese(recommended by our waitress). The event that added the most personal touch, was when the owner poked his head through the window and asked how we like everything and how much he genuinely appreciate our visit. He makes 90% of the menu from scratch, from scratch people! My husband and I thought that was superb. We will certainly be back! And maybe even try that poutine everyone is talking about :)

Went here today with my family for dinner after reading the reviews on Unilocal.I saw this place had smothered fries, or as most people would know them as poutine. I had the country style, minus the mushrooms. Was pretty good! Portion was a little smaller than I thought it would be but it’s fine because I got full halfway through anyways lol. My husband had the stromboli special they had going on. Got his with ham, bacon, and jalapenos. He said he wasn’t too crazy about the marinara sauce flavor and was a little sad that it didn’t have more filling(both ends were just bread). My son had a slice of pepperoni pizza… pretty ordinary. All in all, it was a decent dinner for the price. I’m sure I’ll be back just for the smothered fries :)

Been here a few times and I really enjoy their wings. They also have fantastic poutine, which I had no idea what it was before going — fries with cheese curds and gravy. Service is fast and they are friendly. Environment is clean and they have some tvs up as well.

Stopped into Zito’s around 8:15 on a Saturday night. The place was empty except for one table and a two-person band(singer and.. . mandolin?). My friend and I decided to get our orders«to go» because the band was really really loud for not that large of a restaurant. I ordered spaghetti and meat sauce with feta cheese on top. It was awkward because after we ordered the woman at the register left to deliver an order and there was no one else minding the front of house of the restaurant. We got our orders and started eating when we got home. There was TONS of pasta. Certainly the portion size was generous. The sauce was off for me. Maybe it was the oregano, but there was a lot of one particular spice and it really overwhelmed the other flavors in the sauce. The garlic bread was good. All in all, it was not a great experience. However, I will probably return to try their poutine, which I have heard good things about.

One of our favorite foods is poutine, and it is hard to find in the Triad. If you’re unfamiliar with this French-Canadian indulgence of late night bar hoppers(famous for its«day after» curative powers), the dish is a mind-boggling combination of French fries, brown gravy, and cheese curds. We visited Zito’s and tried four of their poutines. Zito’s used home-cut, skin-on, medium sized French fries. The fries were crispy, not at all greasy and had been mounded high on the plate. Snowy white, bite-sized cheese curds had been added to the Traditional Poutine. Order was important; a sophisticated poutine implemented a layering system. Brown gravy went on last and was ladled over top the curds to help warm them. The final dish — a heaping plate of fries interlaced with cheese curds and covered in piping hot beef gravy. The Italian Poutine started with the same well cooked and yummy fries. Cheese curds were hidden underneath a hearty Bolognese sauce. This meat sauce was so amazing that I closed my eyes and savored the moment when I tried my first bite. They hit every note perfectly with the depth of flavors in the thick, rich sauce. The Country Style Poutine was a gastronomic adventure consisting of fries, curds, gravy, bacon, chicken, sauteed onions, mushrooms and green peppers. Substantial, hot and dripping with goodness, this poutine was my favorite. The salty bacon complimented the fresh vegetables. I thought all the flavors worked well together but each item still stood on its own, especially the bacon. The Greek Poutine had golden brown fries, lathered in delicious gravy, complemented by a generous sprinkling of curd, and partnered with seasoned gyros meat. Filling, satisfying, and Jerry’s favorite with the tender spiced gyros. Zito Pizzeria and Grill was quite casual and the service friendly and welcoming. The menu also had pizza, sandwiches, Italian & Greek dinners, and salads. Our friends always get the calzone and let us know you can ask for it even when it isn’t listed on the menu. I’ve got my eye on the Philly Poutine for next time. For more details on our visit, please visit our local Triad food blog at .

Being that we are approximately 18 hours from the nearest Canadian border, I did not expect to find poutine served in Winston-Salem let alone at an Italian restaurant. Even after I saw the designated«poutine menu,» I was still a little hesitant that it was real poutine. But it was! In fact, I think the name Zitos! Italian is a bit misleading. They do have pizza, yes, but they also have gyros, sandwiches, and you guessed it… POUTINE. It was legit too. The inside is a bit small but the prices are generous and the portions are exceptional. I got my poutine without gravy, although they also have a veggie poutine option. I just wanted cheese curd on mine! This place is really, really good. The service was better than most I’ve had when ordering take-out. The cashier made sure I had napkins, silverware, and anything else I needed. I’m planning to come back and try more of their extensive menu. Maybe next time I should try the veggie poutine, eh?

Impressive food, low prices. My wife and I ordered a Gyro, slice of cheese pizza, traditional Poutine and the Zito Club. All of it was pretty good. The Poutine had a thick cut fry, not fresh cut or anything like that, but the gravy was piping hot and melted the cheese curds nicely. The gravy has a rich beef flavor that gets better as it cools. They have an entire Poutine menu with all kinds of toppings. $ 4.50 The Gyro was excellent. Fresh pita, great flavor to the meat and it wasn’t the frozen stuff that’s all the same size thickness. The tzaziki sauce was awesome, and lots of it, which I loved. Only $ 5.25, what a bargain. The pizza had great tasting sauce, plenty of cheese and a pretty good crust. Not as good as Burke St or Mario’s but it was good and they make it fresh each day. The Club sandwich had a lot of meat on it and had great flavor and really good hoagie roll. $ 6.50 for 8″ sub. Looking forward to trying more on their menu next time. Went back the next day: Philly Steak: great bread, good steak and peppers and onions. Nice flavor. I asked for Lettuce, tomato and banana peppers, which added $ 1.50 to the price. Philly Steak Poutine: awesome! Beer battered onion rings: horrible. Over cooked, very crunchy but virtually no onion left inside. If you like crunchy batter and don’t like onions, these are perfect. Very small rings too. Most places select the large outer rings and use the inner rings for diced applications, or sautéed peppers and onions. Yesterday we sat and placed our order at the table, then paid our bill at the end of our meal. Today, we were told to have a seat, but come to the counter when we were ready to order, and we paid first. A little bit of an identity crisis. I liked day one’s experience better. A little service is nice, and I left a tip either way. Overall, still four stars.

I went to Zito’s Pizza today. It was my second visit. I had Poutine bc they are one few places in Winston that makes it The food is great and inexpensive. There is a varied menu, not only pizza, but Greek favorites as well. The staff is friendly and very attentive.
