I recently attended the Winston Salem Symphony’s Plug In Pops performance of the music of Led Zeppelin with the Blue Jeans and Classics Band. I can’t not adequately think of adjectives to describe how much I enjoyed the performance. The band was not a tribute band where the guys tried to look and sound like Page, Plant, Bonham, and Jones, but they sounded incredible. I could close my eyes and easily picture Zeppelin being on stage. The orchestra was not overpowered by the band and held their own playing with zeal and with volume throughout the concert. It was obvious that the orchestra had worked long and on each song that was played and they did a fantastic job bringing a new dimension to the classic Led Zeppelin music. Reynolds Auditorium was a well suited venue for the concert and I do not think there was a bad seat in the place. I had a couple of questions prior to concert and emailed the box office. Their response was prompt and friendly. The only complaint I had was the concert was only a little over 2 hours. At the end, they had done such a good job I wanted more !!! It was a great evening and I look forward to attending more events, although I am not sure how they will top this one.
