Danielle is my favorite instructor. I’ve been here four times and each class is challenging yet soothing. I recommend dropping in for a lunch session because those have been my favorite.

I LOVETHISPLACE. The classes are never too big, but I always leave feeling revived. All of the teachers are sweet and make sure that the class doesn’t start until they get to know a little about you. Reasonably priced compared to everything else in the area. Some classes are donation based, so you can definitely find a class in your budget! The meditation classes with Suzy are probably my favorite. I’ve never felt so relaxed in my life! Go here!

Wonderful place that is filled with warmth, love, and light. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. You instantly feel like you are a member of the family. I highly recommend second Saturday Kirtan. The energy in the room and free spirits and open minds are accepting to all ages, races, sexualities, and religions. One of my favorite places to be.

The Breathing Room has recently opened in a cool new space, decorated with unique interior artwork created by one of The Breathing Room’s own yoga instructors. The overall vibe of the studio is pretty zen and inviting. I have been to several«funky flow» classes with Courtney Branch, it is an awesome class! This class has the right amount of meditation, flow, and deep stretch poses; all to get you chilled out and refreshed so you can start your weekend(it is on Friday nights). The instructor plays different music each Friday night, so it is always a fresh experience. The Breathing room also has a variety of other yoga, dance, and Pilates classes, the variety is comparable to other studios in town. One of my favorite things about the Breathing Room is that they have other healing arts like massage therapy, it’s a «one stop shop». I love convenience, especially when it’s well done! My second favorite thing is that the founders of the breathing room have created their space in order to help serve the community by making yoga, massage, etc., more accessible(there are very low rate community yoga classes available). You can purchase a pass at a very competitive rate as compared with other studios in the area, honestly the best value around town. After you’re done with classes here you can walk across the hall to The Porch restaurant or Hoots Roller Bar for dinner and/or drinks. Convenience and fun! What better way to unwind after yoga with a locally brewed beer(Hoots Bar) or locally owned restaurant(the Porch). The Breathing Room is definitely worth checking out!

I am a big fan of The Breathing Room! I can only speak to their yoga classes as I have not experienced any of their other offerings. Since I moved to Winston over the summer I have been casually looking for a yoga place. I was probably just making excuses for myself here but either I didn’t love the price, the location, or the times that classes were offered. When I saw the Breathing Room was opening and their classes were donation based at first I figured it was worth giving them a try. Now that they have an official class schedule and price structure I think they offer a pretty good selection of class times and the prices are very comparable to other places in the area, often times a bit less expensive. They yoga classes offered have enough variety that if you go multiple times a week you don’t feel like you are doing the same thing. Some of the classes are more fast paced flowing through poses and some are just as challenging but a bit slower. The ladies who run this place are all very nice! I have taken classes with Suzy and Courtney and would recommend them both. Also since this place is new you don’t have to worry about the place being over crowded and lunging into your neighbor. It is very peaceful! In addition to the various more standard yoga classes that they offer, they also have a family yoga class, a meditating Mondays class, World Grove Dance, Kids African Dance, Yoga-lates, poetry, Kirtan(I personally had to look up what that actually was), and a Law of Attraction and Energy class. They currently also have a burlesque workshop going on. Some other things you could also sign up for here are massages and music therapy sessions. They really offer so many things here, not just yoga! If any of the above interests you, you are looking for a new yoga place, or if you are into holistic practices in general I would suggest stopping in to chat with the ladies at the Breathing Room!
