Tropical Smoothie Cafe

This place could be so much better. The people that work here are unfailingly rude. Rude is their default setting. It’s just ridiculous and unnecessary.
The last three times I’ve gone in there I’ve been unable to order something because they were out of certain ingredients. I couldn’t get a Detox Island Smoothie because they were out of ginger. Then I couldn’t get one of their grain bowls because they were out of spinach. I later realized that the smoothie I ordered was supposed to have spinach in it. Hmmmm. This time I once again tried to order the grain bowl, but they were out of the actual grain — no rice. Seriously? Rice is pretty shelf stable.
I’m not convinced they actually have the grain bowl. I think maybe they advertise it, but are always conveniently out of something needed to make it. When I got back to my office and opened up my wrap, guess what? I had a coupon for 50% off a grain bowl! Why not just advertise free grain bowls, then never have the stuff to make them. People will come in for them and then have to order something else that won’t be free. I’m never going back to this place — its an absolute exercise in frustration.

I heard complaints about this place’s staff before, but I think that must have vanished. We’ve had nothing but good experiences since. The smoothies though… Wow, I might have put up with bad service for the great smoothies! They’re well assorted and full of great flavor. Plus they’re HUGE. It’s crazy that I can get a $ 5 smoothie that’s a meal! Honestly, I haven’t tried the food. I’ve heard mixed stuff from the very good to the very bad, so I don’t know. I’m just interested in the smoothies, so if you’re like me, you should be pleased.

Great options, super tasty juices and food. Best of all: awesome staff! I had a great experience!

Teenagers running the show. Food is microwaved. Ugh… and i only get a smoothie during half price happy hour cause its not worth it for full price.
