In a nutshell: Service…slow as molasses Food: Fair to Better Clientele: ALOT of wannabes and real bikers Bike night brings out everything from rat rods to the CVOs that the riders are scared to ride much… to full blown custom rides that are worth checking out… Be warned, ALOT of attitude too. Dont be offended easily, and dont be surprised if your waitress looks like shes a day out of rehab… she prob is… but its WELL worth a visit. We try to make it up a few times during the summer on the bike nights. if you are a people watcher, you are gonna be in nirvana as you have all kinds here…

Best chicken, EVER!!! Not to mention the sweet tea and fries are awesome, too! Been coming here for years, and I still love it!

Went there for bike night. This place must have the COLDEST beer around, which was nice after a long hot ride. There were a lot of bikers there and a band outside. The burger was excellent! Seems like there were a lot of regulars there.

I’m the first to admit its a weird little joint. Half biker bar, half chicken hut. It is bare bones rustic and not all that comfortable, but this is some of the best chicken I have ever tasted. I don’t know how its done but it sure is good. Served on styrofoam plates, with plastic knives and forks and a roll of walmart paper towels(that you will need, believe me.) The wait staff will never be accused of being overly friendly and the unfamiliar may feel like they have wandered into a private scene, but the chicken is worth it. The place is dark on Mondays and Tuesdays.

This is definitely a regulars place. Whenever I come here for business, the local workers take us here… although I still am not sure why. The food is mediocre at best. The waitstaff is awful. The waitress always looks bored and annoyed at us. One of our group had to walk up to the kitchen himself with his cup for a refill(after several failed attempts to call any of the servers). The tables to sit at are like a cheep cafeteria, and are very uncomfortable. The only saving grace is that it is really cheap. If it was my choice, I wouldn’t go back.

This is the Winston location of a very small local chain — others are in Pfafftown, Mooresville, and N. Wilkesboro. They serve great wings, poppers, fried pickles, burgers, hot dogs, and more, but the reason to come here is the Barbecued Chicken. It is Ted’s Famous Chicken in some locations, and Ted’s Kickin’ Chicken at others — all the same chicken. It is fried first(similar to Keaton’s near Statesville, and Bar-B-Que King in Charlotte), then dipped in a pretty spicy barbecue sauce — it is some of the best barbecued chicken I’ve ever eaten. Some may not consider this is a family kind of place, more like NASCAR runs over Harley Davidson kind of place, or vice a versa. But I come for the chicken. The service here has always been slow to very slow, best to know that going in. Still I go.

First– if I was reviewing Ted’s SOLEY on the food– FOURSTARS! It was delicious!- Yes, they have chicken of all sorts: wings, roasted, tenders, grilled… but burgers and salads and dogs too. They have a wide selection of side items(coleslaw and onion rings especially good!) It was served in a clean and casual setting and the prices were fair. *****TIP: 49 cent wings Saturdays(so an order of 10 will set you back 4 and change-not bad) and 2.00 beers Sun. Thursday is also Bike Night and I’ve heard it is busy and LOTS of cool bikes to look at*** However, delicious food does not a perfect restaurant make… why the 2 stars? 1. Our server was MISERABLE– like we we’re bothering her just being there… granted it looked for a time like she was the only one working the dining room, so I guess maybe I’d be pissy too– however she was mean– like I was AFRAID to ask for a straw-let alone a smile! 2. Lack of outside seating– it was a nice day and we would have LOVED to have eaten outside– esp to check out the bikes many of the other patrons were riding– sadly there was one lonely picnic table outside and it was taken. 3. No draft beer or liqour-bottle beers only– might not be a big deal to you. Again– our food was phenom… would be a good place for a family dinner or to watch a game and enoy cheap wings on Sat(LOTS of tvs!) Hopefully you don’t get our grumpy server!
