I frequent this park quite often as I’m a nanny and am always liking for fun outdoor activities. This park is great when I’m caring for young children of different ages. This playground is diverse and has slides and other recreation for most ages. The toddlers love the little side and the other side kids rage the big slides. I even go down with them. It’s super fun if you have pants on. I’ve tried it in a skirt and it BURNS. Don’t do it. Today we came to kill some time before the gelato shop opened. I like it better when there are more families around. Today there were some high school kids occupying a picnic table. By no means were they bothering anyone, but every other word out of their mouth was a cuss word. They were very loud and I felt like I had to keep the kids away from them so they wouldn’t hear. It’s a bummer to go to a kids area and have to deal with that. It’s a public park, but was a bummer for sure. Usually the park is packed and there would have been a noise buffer. It’s a drizzly day so we had the park to ourselves. Sorta.

Sam J. Is correct on most of his review of Hanes Park. But the proposed high school stadium will be built on school system property next to Hanes Park. Not an inch of the park will be torn down or touched at all by the stadium. Come out and enjoy the park. It will be here for a long time.

This park is a decent place to come exercise and offers just about any outdoor activity you could want, tennis, track, softball field, and a brand new play ground. Its in a decent neighborhood and the police department does physical training at this location. It is a shame that this park will soon be torn down to make way for a football stadium for the next door high school.
