This is a great Grill — a little hidden — but I’m so glad I found it! Besides a plentiful variety of raw foods to chose from, they have a wonderful selection of sauces to add to your food you chose to have grilled for you. My advise is to use the little spoons provided and actually taste them! The staff are very helpful — I loved a sauce to much my hostess gave me some to take home and found the list of the ingredients for me! When has THAT ever happened? They are right across from a favorite craft store I frequent, so I guess I will have to have some excellent stir fry and a nice seasonal beer after shopping from now on! I wanted to try a dessert, as they looked wonderful, but I was too full — maybe next time!

The price keeps going up, it’s now 15 bucks for the big bowl, when they first opened it was 8.99 all you can eat, once agin they changed on how you order, yes the food is good, but when you go into a place expecting one thing and it’s completely different it sucks lol

This place is very hit or miss. The style is a build your own bowl buffet which you then give to the kitchen to grill. Lots of variety in vegetables and spices. Easy to make bad combinations if you mix too many things, so a word of caution to carefully selected seasonings and sauces. In the end the flavours are your creation. However, sometimes the food is overcooked. Sometimes starches(rice, noodles, cabbage) are left out of the bowl(the kitchen is supposed to add them in.) Service is often inattentive and slow. We went with a group recently and there was about 30 minutes delay between the time the first one of us got our food to the time the last person was served. The entire table was finished eating when that person got their food, and checks were being delivered and dishes taken away. The place is also very very cramped and hard to get around. So… It’s fun for an occasional meal… I would recommend mid week dinners or late lunch time, not busy times.

Slightly bland, but good. You get a choice of three bowl sizes, and you fill up the bowl with protein and veggies before taking it to the grill to be cooked. Keep in mind that you will also get noodles or rice with your meal, so you’re actually getting at least twice as much food as what you put in the bowl. I got the small, which was plenty for lunch; my husband got the medium size and it was too much. This place is very accommodating of different diets. They have tofu on the bar, which makes this vegetarian very happy, and the veggie choices are good. There are many different sauces, and the ingredients lists are available online so you can make sure you pick a sauce that works for your dietary needs. Little signs on the sauce bar also list common allergens found in each one. You can also ask them to wipe down the grill before cooking your food if needed. I feel like I should have put more spices on my food, because it was definitely bland, but next time I’ll know better!

I live in Greensboro and I drive 25 minutes to this location just to eat because I love it so much. HOWEVER, the past few times we have been, we’ve had some issues. The food is consistently good but the bar service is well below par. Our party ordered two margaritas(with 1800) and a Budweiser bottle. The restaurant was on the busier side so I expected to have a little wait, but we got our food first and then waited another 10 minutes before we got our drinks. THEN… The drinks were nothing but tequila. It was the most disgusting drink I have ever tasted. It was not drinkable. I am a bartender and you should never send out a drink like that. The waitress proceeds to tell us that the girl working the bar is also waiting her own section(not just the bar section). With it being as busy as it was, on a Saturday, there should have been someone assigned just for the bar. I was very unhappy with all of this, and it’s not the first time we’ve had issues with trying to get drinks. I know that we are here for the food, but if I’m paying for alcohol… I expect a drinkable drink.

I’ve eaten a t this location also. It’s the same review as Richmond: I absolutely love eating at this restaurant. A great place to take family, friends and coworkers out to eat. You can’t go wrong because you select everything that you like. Service is great and the meal is great! Tip: The regular bowl is a LOT of food.

We went here over the weekend with a few friends for their birthday. I was excited because I had been wanting to try this place for a while. You walk in and are seated by the host. Your server greets you with 3 silver bowls. The small is $ 9.99. Medium is $ 11.99 and large is $ 14.99. Now, you might think the prices are a little much, but the amount of food you get from these bowls is crazy. I got the medium and I will definitely be getting a small next time. My husband got a large and he said a medium would do for him. He ate and ate and it seemed like the food never disappeared lol. The bar where you get your food from can be overwhelming if you’ve never been there before. You take your bowl(which is on a tray with a card) to the food line and pile your bowl as high as you can get it. They have every kind of meat you’d want(shrimp is extra), along with tons of veggies and sauces. BEWARE! Try the sauce BEFORE you decide to use it on your food. I went through 4 different sauces before finding one I actually liked(Kahn pow I think is what it was called). The first 2 I tried, I almost spit back out. I got chicken, beef, broccoli, zucchini, onions, green onions, bell peppers, and Pico, along with the sauce. You take it to the counter where they cook it and someone will ask what starch you want. I got udon noodles. Now, your bowl is piled high when you take it to them. They haven’t even added in the starch you want yet, so you can just imagine how much food you really get. Mine was absolutely DELICIOUS. The only problem we had was our server was fairly new and messed up the drinks and all of the tickets. Hopefully they will train her more before feeding her to the wolves lol. We will definitely be back. PS… if you go for your birthday, make sure your server knows. The staff will scream happy birthday and they will bang on the gong and make a big fire just for you ;) lots of fun to see.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. There were so many options on the buffet to choose from that we had no problem finding something satisfying for our picky eater. If you’ve never tried a Mongolian grill you should definitely give this place a try. The food is cooked to perfection.

Do it yourself stir– fry. choose your meats, veggies, sauces, and hand it over to the grillmaster. your food comes back piping hot with a bowl of rice or noodles. Amateur service. Front hostess never looked me in the eye but spent several minutes heads-down at the counter, apparently trying to find a spot for a party of five in a half empty restaurant. Our server greeted us at the table, then left, then returned and asked if we had been in before, then left again without a word, then returned with example steel bowls and gave a convoluted description of the«choose your food» process. never a mention of price or of extra charges for add-ons. The food was good. A great variety of veggies to go with protein and rice, and many choices for seasonings. A satisfying meal without a puddle of cheese or a pool of grease like so many fast-casual meals. dining room is loud, and tables are cramped. Go for a healthy, reasonably tasty meal, but don’t expect much beyond an assembly line.

Any other time they’re good, but tonight service was bad my food was undercooked and I was not given a refund on the terrible bowl they cooked… They offered me a small bowl of bland udon noodles…

Been to many genghis grills and this was one of the worst. The wait staff was crap. I waited a long time for a refill on ice tea. The ingredients were all sloppy and veggies were mixed up at the bar. Luckily, I used my free birthday bowl so I wouldn’t pay for this bad service and place. It really needs to take a note from another genghis grill.

I really enjoyed my Ghengis Grill experience. We wanted to try something different and it was our first visit to Genghis Grill. it was a fun experience to say the least. The variety of meats and vegetables made the experience even better. Just be sure to pack all your meat down and load up on the vegetables and spices. The large size bowl will give you plenty of leftovers.

We went on a Sunday right around 12pm. There was barely anyone there, customer wise. It was like a waste land of nobody. Our server was so scatter-brained and couldn’t even remember to take our drink order, let alone keep our glasses even halfway filled. We were a party of two kids and six adults. I was watching our server the whole time basically and all she was doing was having long conversations with other customers. She seemed stressed out, but for whatever reason it I was, I cannot figure out because there was barely anyone there. When we went up to fill up our $ 9.99 bowls(which includes a drink) there was only one lane open and no seafood at all. I get the one lane because there was barely anyone there, but no shrimp or other things? That is the only reason my mother-in-law decided she would eat there. They cooked the food fast, again there was no one else there, so we got it fast and all together. My food was very greasy for some reason. I get the same thing every time I go, so I have no idea why it was so goopy. Our server had terrible hand writing so when the other servers came to give us our food, all they could say was«the name that begins with a ‘j’ or a ‘s’.» In our families case, we have three ‘j’ names and two ‘s’ names so we had to try to read the card to see if it was our food. Lets just say all of the family unanimously agreed we will never be going back there again because of the after effects of the food. If you want a hurt belly, go on and eat here!(:

Everything was great. I was greated in a lovely matter I went to the bar and sat there to have a drink. The only thing i have to complain about is my bartender was Delcy and she didn’t help me at all. It took a worker who was clocked out to not only make my drinks, but to make other people in the restaurant drink as well. She was very kind and didn’t even mind to help other people because she didn’t want ghengis to get a bad rep. But other than that it was good.

It pains me to have to update this with such a reduction in stars, but I’ve given them 4 – 5 chances to pull it together and they’ve let me down every time. This restaurant started out strong and has utterly nosedived into a place I hate going when my husband gets a craving. The issue is two fold, with blame to go around locally as well as(presumably) at the corporate level. You literally can’t expect the same experience visit to visit, even if there’s only a month between. They put some silly TV screen/tablet things on the tables that constantly flash advertisements a few months back — very aggravating to someone with post-retina surgery issues like me. We turn the damn thing around when we’re sitting because we dine out to enjoy one another’s company, not to have endless ads flashed at us. Yeah, you can check out with it and that’s not a bad benefit, but aren’t kids buried enough in their goddamn tablets without having them provided? Meals should be a family thing, not an excuse to ignore one another for bejeweled — don’t contribute to that crap, GG. Two visits ago, they tried to charge me for a «deluxe» take out box because my excess wouldn’t fit in the tiny styrofoam container. Are you kidding me? Been dining out more than 3 decades and I’ve never been charged for a takeout container. We went last night and when I asked for white sauce, which originally had been in a ketchup-style bottle that worked well and had on a recent visit been swapped for stupid tiny plastic cups full, but whatever — I wanted white sauce. They bought us firm plastic kids cups, complete with the straw«X» in the lid, FILLED with white sauce — just crazy amounts. Way more than you’d use. I had to awkwardly pry off the lid and pour a glop on my food and it was still too much. Strikes me as weird and unsanitary — sauces =/= beverages, guys. They moved the peanuts, sesame seeds, crunchy noodles and eggs on/behind the grill counter and off of the assembly bar. The only ones they’ll cook on the grill anymore are eggs — you have to add the raw peanuts and sesame seeds by dumping them on your finished bowl. Those things taste completely different when cooked and it’s nowhere near the same as it used to be. They used to just give you a bowl and send you up to the assembly bar — worked great and everyone liked it. You filled your bowl, told the grill dudes what you wanted, they used grease pencil to indicate your starch on wipe-clean plastic cards, swapped out a blue card for an allergy — everything was awesome and low waste. Now you get some silly tray at the table, and you have to fill out(or your waitress does, if you have a decent one) some silly paper card the size of a business card. They put your name on it, but the food runners never say your name, so I don’t know what the hell the point of that is. Also, I feel like they change the goddamn bowl visit to visit — when we first came, there was adult and kids’ sizes. Great, that works, it’s very clear. Now there’s 3 weird sizes and they changed the shape of the bowl and eliminated the«lip» entirely. Our waitress claimed it was an ounce bigger but she could barely say it with a straight face. On the assembly bar, obvious changes had been made to the way they cut things — the carrots are these 1⁄8 — ¼″ half moon chunks instead of the nice thin slices they used to be. This likely happened because people were building a «wall» of the slices to hold more in the bowl, but the end result is that the carrots are way too thick to cook via their method. My finished bowl tasted like a crudite platter at a cocktail party and my carrots were raw-crunchy…super unpleasant. They also dumped my starches(udon and spiral pasta) on top of the theoretically-cooked mix of tofu, veggies and two cups of sauce I gave them, and the starches were barely cooked. The noodles were downright raw and tasted like pasty flour. While our waitress was pleasant and friendly, both my husband and I and the table next to us had to flag down food runners to get white sauce, drink refills, etc. We were only asked if we wanted drink refills as she brought the check out — well after the cups were completely empty. I echo what others have said — this restaurant suffers from service inconsistency, the food quality has plummeted, and corporate needs to get their head out of their ass and realize that people want a consistent experience when they visit a chain, they don’t want to be guinea pigs for whatever-the-hell you have cooked up as a promo this week. Go back to your roots and maybe folks will stop flocking away.

Recent improvements since my last visit include 3 different meal sizes and trays to carry your bowls and sauces on. Food was good, not great, but it was dependent on my choices at the buffet line. I should have gotten more sauce and more vegetables as my final meal was dry. The proportions were off and I had way more rice than anything else. With some planning and experience, you can put together a great meal, it just takes several times to figure it all out. Service was the reason they lost 2 stars from me. As soon as we were seated we asked to move to the table right next to ours because the a/c vent was blowing right on us and we were cold. Our server, Lizz, said we couldn’t move to that table because it was dirty. I asked if she could clean it off so we could move over. It seemed to be a hassle for her to do that. Then she was sure we knew that she would have to check to see if she could still be our server since we switched tables. That took an extra 5 minutes for her to negotiate with the hostesses. We did not need to know all of that. We should have been moved quickly with a smile and nothing else needed to be mentioned. She was fairly attentive once she got to keep us as her table. After one request to refill our water glasses, she was very prompt to refill them again without asking the next time. Should I have to be thankful for small favors? This is not a place I would go on a frequent basis, but it’s ok for an occasional change of pace.

Gangis grill has made some big improvements since the last time I ate there. I like now that they give you a tray to carry your bowl and sauces to the cook station. They also offer three sizes of bowls and I think the new small was there original regular. At lunch they only have fake crab as their seafood option which was disappointing. I used pork and chicken in my bowl along with several vegetables. I like that they now have bok choy on the menu. I got the udon noodles as my starch and with a regular bowl you can get double starch. The meat was tender and the veggies were cooked well. The meal came out very hot and they serve it with a few containers of white sauce. The service was okay and they now have a new thing where you pay at the table. Since I was paying in cash it was a little confusing. Overall the food was good & I would return here for another meal.

I am not a fan. I’ve been here a few times, and always leave thinking, I don’t really want to return ever, but my housekeeper and son like the place, so they drag me there when my resistance is compromised. I think they like Genghis for the challenge of how much food they can pack into those little, silver bowls. The only thing I like here is the pretty nifty to-go tupperware boxes. Good stuff! Things I don’t like: 1) The tables. They are small, uncomfortable, and jam-packed into the space. And today my shirt sleeves kept sticking to the edge of the sticky table. 2) The bar. If you told me there was really any alcohol in their fancy, over-priced cocktails, I’d call you a liar. The wine? Um, no. I’ve had better tasting box-wine. 3) The service. The waitstaff is nice. But not very prompt. As in I need a massage after all the neck craning I did at lunch today in search of my waitress. Again, she was nice. But I really just wanted my food and a refill of water and maybe the check… you know, at some point. 4) The food. The selection of proteins is… icky. «Krab»(???). Calamari and scallops at dinner only? $ 4.00 extra for shrimp?(that you need a microscope to find). The beef tasted like jerky and had about the same texture… just bad. Though I will say the selection of vegetables is decent. Score you vegetarians! I think that pretty much sums it up. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I’ve been to Genghis Grill twice. The first time was last year sometime and was a great experience. Amazing food and service, along with a truly unique dining experience. My sister and I were so pleased with our first visit that we decided to both become members of the Khan’s Klub loyalty program that our server told us about. I promised my sis that I’d bring her back for her free birthday bowl. I told both the hostess and our server that it was my sister’s birthday today and we were here for her free bowl. The server told us that she’d also get a special surprise for it being her birthday. He even asked to see her ID to prove it was her birthday. I ordered us some drinks from the bar… for her a schooner sized thunder cherry blast and a schooner sized coconut crush for me. When the waiter came back he spilled a little bit of my drink on the table near me… which I didn’t mind other than I wish he would have either cleaned it up or given me some extra napkins to clean it up. It was enough of a spill to be annoying. Both drinks were really good. Make sure that you season your food properly. On our first visit, I didn’t add any seasonings to my ingredients and my bowl came out a little bland. Our food was cooked really quickly and everything tasted really good. Our server brought us the check immediately after we asked for to-go boxes… didn’t even ask if we wanted dessert or anything else. I was disappointed that they never brought out anything that qualified as a «special surprise» for my sister. I was expecting maybe a dessert… or another drink… or something??? But nope… nothing. When I looked at the check, I also saw that they still charged us for both bowls, in spite of her showing the server her ID and her Khan card. I didn’t want to embarrass her or cause a scene so I just didn’t say anything. I’m not going to beg them to give us the free bowl we were promised on birthdays or beg them to bring her a dessert. What I can’t understand is that even the server told us she’d get something and he brought nothing. And it wasn’t like they were busy… we were the only ones in there! Can’t say I’ll be back.

Really a neat experience for folks who’ve never tried it. I went because it allows for a protein packed meal as what goes in you’re bowl is up to you. I had thinly sliced beef, chicken, marinated sirlion, shrimp, and eggs and then added minimal veggies because you can choose cabbage instead of a starch. was really pleased with the way the foods turned out and had really good service from Rebecca. Gave it only for stars though because i feel the cost for casual fare is a bit high… and beverages are particularly pricey. Overall, quite pleased.
