Mostly a nice hotel; certainly a very nice staff. But… the«free» internet is virtually unusable. Wrapping up a 4-day stay here and it’s been Digital Siberia.(After complaining, the Mgr said she upped the speed; I’m not a techie-just repeating what she said). It worked better for a little while(In the middle of the day when there were very few guests in the building). But it’s nearly unusable again.) …Note the other reviews below about internet speed; this evidently is not a new problem and is completely inexcusable in this day and age where everyone is online and even McDonalds offers passable wifi gratis.

What can I say very decent Marriott courtyard. Friendly staff, clean rooms, modern eatery etc. Will keep staying here in my travels

I’ll be updating because I’m booked on business for 5 months. Sept 24, 2015: There is NORELIABLEINTERNET. This is a business hotel & a known continual problem! One person likes to point out that it’s just free if it’s not working. As if it’s not factored into your room rate or that somehow excuses a business hotel. — People are nice. But, if there are continuous problems… who cares? — Rooms are nice & I appreciate having a small couch and table. — The mattress is good. — Consider the Café a convenience only. They usually open up late so, if you need to be out the door at 6:30am, you lose out on the free«continental breakfast». Even if your getting the free coffee & muffin, they seem to muddle around without direction. So, it can literally take almost 5 mins. Especially on the weekends, they close early. Very often, the staff is late opening up for evening hours. — Dinner is sometimes just microwaved & I’ve had to return orders twice. But, it’s been a bit better this past week. If your order has carrot/celery sticks for garnish, they’ll be old, dry and discolored… every time… it’s surreal that a cook looks at them & says«looks good to me». — They are AWESOME with your packages & they drop them off in your room. Since I get/send a lot, I REALLY appreciate that. — Unfortunately, their internet drops a lot & the speed is really bad, even for hotels. This can make working really annoying. — It’s very quiet. — Very clean. For a very, very basic level business hotel, it’s just acceptable. It’s very clean. I’ve had some serious bumps here. But, the people are very nice I that want to give them a chance. I’ve been here 4 wks and am growing increasingly disappointed.

Slightly hard to review this one but overall for what it is I’ll give it four stars, but it could fairly also be given just three. The location is good for Wake Forest and its athletic facilities and the staff are super professional and nice. One lady, Diana, could well be at a Four Seasons she’s so professional and really has her act together. Very impressed with their people. They have a small Café bar which offers food and drinks but isn’t a full service restaurant by any means. The layout of the motel is kinda weird and parking is tough but most of that is due to the location and shape of the lot. I don’t know how old the building is but it seems pretty old and dated and I suspect it was something else before Marriott got it, like perhaps a Howard Johnson. The rooms are nice enough and the lobby obviously has had a first rate renovation in the past decade, but the halls look worn and the whole place has a very strange smell. It’s not altogether a bad smell but it is an old smell. Like maybe how your grandma’s church smells. It’s the smell of age and probably mold or something that the renovations and serious effort at keeping things tidy alas cannot rid an old motel of despite the staff and their best intentions. Also, when I walked by several doors in the main hallway to storage areas and the like, they groaned and shuddered and one to a linen storeroom actually came open! All without me touching a thing. Very strange unless the motel is haunted. Or more likely, the latches need replacing. It’s just weird: much of the place is very smart and modern but small details they overlooked betray the motel’s age. Still for the price it’s a good place to stay in town unless you need to be closer to the center of downtown. However, having stayed at other Marriott Courtyards this one is inferior in terms of physical space to most in the chain I’ve encountered.

Comfortable stay here for a conference. Lobby is cute. Corner nook tables are a fabulous idea but were dusty and dirty when I sat in them. Seemed to not have been cleaned after the last person sat there. Staff at the café were friendly. Carl and Karen were great. Carl served ribs to a customer while a group of us were there and I was totally skeptical of them until he urged me to taste one. I did-and almost fell out of my chair. Carl can give what seems to be the holy grail of restaurants there — «Sweet Potatoes», a run for their money. I couldn’t believe that those ribs were that good. My colleagues and I regreted our lack of faith in the potential of the lobby café which could have saved us some unpleasant experiences at restaurants nearby-sigh. My room was great. I found it to be very clean and certainly comfortable. I think that the room setup varies depending on where you stay but I loved my room. Check in and check out was easy. There is not much around the hotel so you would need a car to get to the«downtown area», stores, etc. The only thing that I found unfortunate was the front desk person snacking behind the desk one day. I guess she was hungry and didn’t have a back up for a quick break. Overall though, great stay.

I travel a lot with my job and expect certain things of certain hotels. This Courtyard certainly did not deliver. Dated, room in disrepair, and dirty. Staff was nice, but they didn’t make up for the rest.
