We stayed two nights at the holiday inn express and had a very pleasant stay. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was very quiet. The front desk people were polite and responsive. We did not have breakfast or use the pool.

Stay here once a year around the holidays. Rooms are clean and staff is nice, however ABSOLUTELYNO insulation… So you hear every conversation, door or footstep in the hotel.

Stayed here over the weekend for family weekend at Winona State. All in all the visit was ok. You always have to wait for staff to come out from the back, no one is there right away which is bothersome. Our room was nice and clean with the exception of the bathroom. We ran out of toilet papaer right away and the corners had hair and dirt in them. I know the hotel was full, however, the hotel knows this as well and felt the lack of food out and ready was awful for breakfast. They would run out as soon as they would put it out because so many people were waiting. We decided to go to Perkins instead because there was no food to be had unless you were right there when she brought it out. I would stay here again if I had to, but we will be looking elsewhere from now on. If this is the best Winona has to offer, we will look in LaCrosse.

I’ve stayed at this holiday inn over a dozen times or so since I have family in Winona. It is considered the newest hotel in Winona. Winona is pretty limited in hotels. The rooms are really clean and up to date, I like the fact that there is a laundry room on the 3rd floor, but it’s slightly pricier than most laundromats in the area. Also the rates at this holiday inn are not cheap at all, even with a corporate rate it’s around 150 a night. The breakfast is really good and always plentiful, the breakfast area has plenty of room. The location of the hotel is very strategic and accessible to most highways. All in all it’s a great location and the cleanest hotel in Winona by far.

Soft beds! If you can cope with that, breakfast and pool are excellent. In addition to the standard pool and hot tub, there’s a zero-entry to one-foot kiddie pool with a giant frog as a slide(the tongue is the slide). My five and two year olds had a fabulous time.

This hotel was aesthetically pleasing, however, it wasn’t nearly as clean as I would have liked. I always go in to my hotel rooms and first thing I do is wipe down all the surfaces with a Lysol wipe. This allows me to disinfect and look around to make sure other things are as clean as I’d like. Unfortunately, «other things weren’t as clean as I would have liked.» I’m not sure they vacuumed my room before I checked in, and am definitely sure they didn’t vacuum once I asked them to re-clean it after I’d found a dirty towel in the folds of the shower curtain. There aren’t many options in Winona, so I’d stay here again with the understanding that I’ll need to be prepared for some not clean situations.

This is a very nice hotel to say for the night. My wife and I were traveling back from South Dakota and it was late. We tried to stretch it home, but we were getting tired. We were going to stay in La Crosse, WI but it was another hour. I saw the signs for this place off I-90 and we decided to go for it. It was a 7 mile drive from I-90 and we were unsure if we should go. I’m glad we did because you can’t find a nicer place in the area. We had a late arrival at 10:30pm and the staff member was nice enough to book us a room right away. The room was neat and clean and had very nice quality amenities like a refrigerator. There was a TV in the bathroom which is nice, but I don’t really see how practical it was just for an overnight stay. It is no more than a couple of years old so most of the stuff is very nice. We didn’t eat in the area, but there is McDonalds and other restaurants next door as well if you need a quick bite to eat. The only problems we had was that the room had smelled of fresh paint when we arrived so I’m not sure if they just painted. The 7 mile drive at night is very dark with very little lights on Hwy 43. We would stay here again if given the chance!

I rarely rate chains and especially hotels because they are usually a matter of common sense. Being that you typically know what you are going to get, unless its a Ramada. But this place needs a review for one simple fact… They have flat screen tv’s mounted next to the toilets in the bathrooms! I love it. The place is brand new and aside from the sweet tv’s it is nicely furnished and detailed. If you are ever in Winona and need a good hotel and a tv while you TCB(take care of business) stay here!
