Went here because we were staying at the hotel and we ordered the spinach and artichoke dip as well as the soft pretzels to start. The dip was surprisingly spicy which is unusual for that dish, almost too much so. The pretzels were actually pretty tasty although quite oily/greasy. For our main course we got the burger and the spaghetti bolognese and the latter was completely flavorless and uninspired. At the end of the meal we got hit with some U pick 2 charge of 23 for getting two appetizers, even though one was 8 and the other was 10… Shouldn’t you get a discount when you order more food rather than be changed more than if you got two items separately?! Blew my mind… The saving grace for this place was our waiter who kindly reversed that ridiculous charge(to the manger’s disappointment he stated) and was polite, quick, and great with refills. Otherwise, would not recommend at all.

Very good atmosphere with pleasant people working here. Had clam chowder and sea bass. The chowder was excellent some of the better I have had. The sea bass was very good as well. I recommend giving this place a try!

A friend asked me where I like to eat because he was going to buy me a gift certificate. I told him the River City Grille inside the Marriot by the airport which I have enjoyed many times including a corporate dinner and family gatherings. I found out today they will not accept my Marriot gift certificate because I did not also have a room to bill it to. Well I guess this is not my favorite place anymore. Perhaps I will have to try the nearby Double Tree. Nice move by the way people, don’t even try to help a regular client.

The food continues to get worse. Poor menu selection and it never changes. Tried soup and salad tonight. Lettuce was not good and soup was watered down. Guess they ran short.

Um, wow. So surprised to find such good in a business/conference hotel. Had a great chicken club and nice, crispy fries. I wish the service had been just a bit more attentive. Though, the overall experience was very nice.

I don’t normally write a review for a place I visit once but WOW! Everything about my meal was delicious. First off you can get onion rings almost anywhere but these are perfection. No need to worry about the onion stringing out of the batter these are crispy and tasty. I had the open face steak sandwich with a creamy Gorgonzola cheese. I was a little nervous ordering being the picky eater I am, but the flavor of the cheese was outstanding and complimented the steak well. I only wish I didn’t live hours away I will definitely visit here next time I am in Connecticut. Staff was quick and friendly.

We made our way here after trying in vain to locate another place. Down in the area for a weekend event and celebrating a birthday we wanted to have a nice meal with good friends and not end up in a chain restaurant The place is beautiful. Plenty of room between tables so you don’t feel like you are eating with the rest of the customers. A party of picky waters were all able to find something and were all satisfied. The tomato bisque was very good, the«toast shards» not so much but it did not distract from the bisque. Ordered a salad that was loaded with fresh greens and veggies. The house vinaigrette was tasty. The service was super friendly and professional. The meal arrived timely All in all a great night

Unbelievable filet mignon. After Abigail’s my all time favorite restaurant. I don’t stay at the hotel as I live in Granby but I stop for dinner whenever I get the chance! Service is excellent and ambiance is very elegant.

So far, I have eaten here twice. The first night I was at the end of lunch so I didn’t have to order off the dinner menu. I had the«you pick.» I picked 4… the sliders, fries, tomato bisque and a cookie. Total was about $ 18 with my club soda. The sliders were tasty, but way smaller than the bun, the fries could have been cooked longer, but were good, the tomato bisque was exactly as promised, delish and the cookie was YUM! Service was a little slow, but that is because the bartender was taking care of everyone. I did ask for a latte(which was on the menu) but was told that she didn’t know how to run the machine… so I asked for a regular coffee to go and that never came and 10 minutes later I was still waitig. so since it wasn’t in my bill I left. Night 2 only the dinner menu was available. I was seated rather quickly and my order was taken quickly. I ordered the crab cakes. The waitress asked if asparagus and macaroni and cheese was okay… I said yes… the description did say spinach… but I figured that the veggie changed. Out came my meal with the spinach. No biggy. After my food was delivered, my waitress never checked on me. Has she, she would have known that my Mac and cheese was ice cold. I didn’t really enjoy the crab cakes which were a bit peppery… and tiny. They weren’t full of filler, but they were small. The spinach was bitter. She never even returned to see if I needed a refill on my drink. I had to flag down another waitress to get my bill so I could pay. All in all, I have had better service at other hotels and since I have 2 more nights left, I now need to figure out where I will be eating. So much for a convenient restaurant in the hotel.

I travel a lot for business and I stay at the Marriott Hotel that has this restaurant in it. Man, I LOVE their dinner entrees. I’ve tried many different ones and I can’t tell you which one is better because they are REALLYREALLY good. I’ve tried the crab cakes, flat iron steak, and southwestern shrimp salad. Can’t tell you which one is better because they are all delicious! I always look forward coming to this hotel to get dinner. The best part, I don’t have to drive anywhere to get this type of food!

I had lunch meeting here(had breakfast meeting across the street at Hilton… at this point I’m tired of hotel food). Food is typical American food. Nothing to really mention other than how empty this place is. Things however change rapidly on weekend, on recent stay I was shocled how many events going on here, and apprently this is fav place of taking your grand parents for blunch thing. Breakfast bar was constantly emptied out by hungry grandpas. Jeez! Breakfast food is actually not bad, muffins are good and made-to-order egg was awesome.

Honestly, I feel like everyone tiptoes around here. Either that, or the carpet is super noise absorbent. The bar is always quiet, everyone clinks their glasses at the most minimal of volumes, TVs are always on what seems to basically be mute, and everyone is always having very quiet, calm, relatively unemotional conversations with one another. Situated inside the Windsor Marriott, River City Grille boasts some pretty standard American fare, but what really makes it for me is how damn quiet it is. The only thing you can hear is the lobby water feature about 150 feet away in the hotel atrium. For me, the quiet is no big deal one way or the other, but for my grandmother & her hearing aids, it is very much appreciated. We frequent a multitude of food-serving establishments in Hartford & West Hartford, and with a lot of background noise sometimes it is hard for her to hear and really get involved in any conversation. Well, she can hear everyone when we eat here. Which is good. The food is pretty decent; the portions are like mountains(yay, tomorrow’s lunch) and the waitstaff are always quite nice. Service is routinely a bit slow though — so don’t go here if you are in a rush. Good fish, chicken, soups, salads, pasta — never had a bad meal. Tack the food onto a quiet, calming atmosphere with slow(relaxed) service and a waterfall in the background… and overall it’s a pretty nice place.
