come here for lunch maybe 1x week. usually get their pork chimichangas. it’s pretty good. the place is never usually busy but a few of the high school kids come here for lunch. the manager is super nice. you can bring your own drinks as well. it’s one of those places you go, eat, and then go back to work. The place is closing down. They’re selling off their furniture.

I must admit that I was excited to see a Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood. I ordered 6 tacos de cecina with a side of rice and beans. It was o.k. The tacos are singles not double tortillas. The rice and beans was very small portioned. A bit overpriced but I guess it’s because of the neighborhood.

this place kinda blows. food is mediocre on a good day. on a bad day it just sucks horribly. service sucks horribly pretty much always. i’m giving up after trying them for 5 – 6 times already. i dont usually care about the décor on a cheap joint like this but god damn this place is ugly and uninviting. i wanted to like them so much and tried and tried and tried… not fun eating mexican in kensington. these guys suck. el catrin sucks. all the others are just inedible and gross. oh well.

Service was pleasant and the place was fairly empty so not so crowded or loud. Food was average nothing that special. Missed flavor and felt a little dry.

I ordered a carnitas burrito from here and it was just mediocre. There are better places in the neighborhood if you’re craving a burrito.

I really like this place. My best friend and I came here not too long ago. I had a chicken enchilada with mole sauce and it was amazing. The rice and beans were good, too. The margaritas were huge, strong and yummy. I would definitely recommend this place.

Very good food fresh and homemade. Reminds me of an old school mom and pop joint which was nice because there aren’t to many left, I rather eat here then just another chain like chipotle or qudoba. Very friendly staff would eat again if in the area.

I went there yesterday for brunch and was very pleased with our food. I ordered a Steak Huarache and it was very filling… it was a lot for little me though. But nonetheless I finished it; you could tell that it was freshly made. As a Mexican, I’ve learned to tell the difference between when a Masa tortilla is fresh or old, so I was really glad To see a freshly made Huarache! They serve you free chips and salsa which is pretty nice and the salsa is pretty yummy! And I tried the passion fruit margarita which was the bomb! I definitely need to return solely for their margaritas, too bad they don’t have any Happy Hour specials, yet! But it looks like they’re building a bar, so maybe soon? Glad that they’re in the neighborhood!

Warm and friendly staff making standard mexican fare in a new-ish and clean space. OK. That’s good! This is a welcomed addition to this area. Family friendly(there were lots of kids there the other night) with a jukebox and they sell beer for the adults. Tacos were a tad bigger than I’m used to and three were super filling. I’d probably skip the tacos next time and just got for a proper entrée as my tacos were… fine, but not great. The entrees were solid — at least the ones I stole a bite from.

Ordered for the first time last night at 8:30 — just 2 burritos– she told me It would arrive in 30 – 35 minutes(we live a few blocks away), at 915 I called up and they were closed, by 925 I decided I’m effing starving so I put in some frozen food and at 940 my door bell rings– I was super angry and demanded the delivery guy call his boss because why should I have to pay for this? Over an hour later? He wouldn’t do it so of course I pay– and the food? Terribly dry bland tasteless disgusting. Never again.

The people who run the business are so lovely but the food just doesn’t match. Guacamole was comprised of mostly mealy and whiteish tomato, tacos were lacking in flavor and character. Shrimp taco was just frozen reheated shrimp in a tortilla. That’s it. I am totally unclear how other reviewers say this food is «very good» or «authentic» aside from the possibility that they grew up in a place with no Mexicans. Maybe we just didn’t order the house specialty?

Very good homemade Mexican food in Windsor Terrace. The prices are super affordable and the food is delicious. Their homemade chips and salsa are complimentary and is a nice start to the meal. Our favorites are the tostadas and chimichangas. Service can be a bit scattered when they get busy but this is an overall solid dining option in a neighborhood that is slowly getting more restaurants opening up. The food is fresh and the staff is friendly. Highly recommended for families with babies and young kids as the staff is very accommodating with high chairs and plastic drinking cups.

I was excited to find out there is a local Mexican place around the corner from our house. We walked in to a semi sweet ambience full of children nice music playing from the jukebox, and immediately were met with a smile. The menu looks pretty appetizing as there was many choices available for non-gluten eaters vegetarians and those who eat everything. The food arrived surprisingly quick, I expected it to take a little longer as they were busy and usually that’s a sign that the food is been prepped way before placing an order. But nevertheless we were hungry and happy to have our food arrived quickly. It kind of goes downhill from here although I do have to say that the chips and salsa were the highlight of the meal. The chicken was overly greasy meaning that they sautéed it into much butter or oil and they also used to much oil on the corn tortillas as those entrées and the tacos came out very greasy not typical of Mexican tacos. I ordered The shrimp fajitas and it’s the first time that shrimp that he does platter came out without sour cream and guacamole but that wasn’t that big of an issue compared to the shrimps that were drenched literally drenched in a sopping mess of butter. The butter flavor and juices overpowered the entire meal. The rice and beans were pretty decent as the corn tortillas . I think I might try a second time to see if they have improved the quality and the way they make some of their food after suggesting it to the waitress who took it kindly after asking was everything to your liking? I think they need to use better ingredients higher quality of chicken and steak less grease when sautéing meats THEN I think this place might be a possible Mexican favorite but we shall see…

To even give this place 3 stars is being generous. #1 it’s freezing in here #2 it took 15 mins before a waitress came to give us our menus #3 it’s not even busy and the service is horrendous #4 they brought us soup without a spoon and just getting someone’s attention to give us a spoon took all but a tantrum #5 the soup is horrible. You know how horses smell? Like how Prospect Park smells in the summer from the horses? That’s what the soup smells and tastes like. #6 I’ve been typing this up while waiting for the waitress to come get our plates and she’s walked by about 8 times #7 the sticker was still on my lemon in my salad(see the pic I added). #8 we never got our chips and salsa after the waitress even brought up on her own that she forgot to bring them to us and would be right back. #9 the décor is nice #10 the burrito I ordered was pretty good.

So glad they’re in the area– the food is fresh and authentic. I had a hurarache which was delicious. The masa dough was stuffed with fresh black beans that weren’t dried out or weird(you know what I mean). The meat and veggies on top were fresh and their crema, cheese and salsas were all full of flavor. The price was reasonable at 8 bucks for a huarache that filled every inch of the to-go tin it barely fit in A sandwich board outside said they do brunch and I can only imagine how sweet their Sunday morning chilaquiles must be.

Yum! Good affordable food. Nice to kids too. Brought the family on a Saturday night and our 8 year old was happy with his quesadilla and plain chicken taco. Husband enjoyed his flautas and I thought my enchiladas con mole were awesome. Right now they are BYOB and there is a deli on the corner for that. They are working on a license so that’ll be good too.

Fresh, very tasty and super-reasonably priced! I’ve eaten here twice since they opened, and will definitely be back. **cash only** and grab a beer from Chino’s on the corner for now — no license yet.

Three stars for the food, plus a star for the cheap prices. There’s a nice jukebox and it’s a welcome addition to the neighborhood. ‘Super Taco’ is tasty and giant. Full plates are very good in portion size and the value is excellent(~10/11). Tacos are all $ 3.50, delicious and reasonably authentic to my experience in MX. Quality is superb for the price.
