I’ve been to some very good sushi restaurants and this is not one of them. Sort of like a take out Chinese restaurant to satisfy a craving, this time for sushi. Very bland taste for the 3 or 4 sushi rolls we ordered. Service was okay and I’ll give them credit for the edamame which was fine and the gyoza which was very good.

This place is pretty good. I’ve been here for lunch a few times when traveling for work. Big menu, good lunch specials. Sushi is pretty good. Atmosphere is ok. If your in the mood for sushi you’ll be happy with what you get

In Hartford for business. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but the sushi is good. Staff is polite and gracious. Nice little dinner by myself

The food was good! But not what I ordered. Ordered takeout, took 45 min. Tempura(advertised with shrimp) had chicken strips. Who does that? It looked just like shrimp, picked it up, fantastic coating, but then… chicken. And not great chicken. Huge disappointment. Mixed up the rolls as well. I want to like it, but not sure if I’ll be back. Hard to find good sushi in this part of town too.

Type of order: Lunch Food Quality: Very solid sushi. No complaints here. Beer Selection: What is beer, here? I think they honestly have a couple select beers on tap /in bottle, but who cares(see below). Service: Awful. Rude, slow, and I’m just getting started. Atmosphere: Generic Japanese offering. Prices: Horrible. High priced, ridiculous pricing. Was charged for a refill on my ginger ale. Entertainment: The menu. Overall Experience: Terrible. Recommend Rating: Buy sushi in the airport. At least you can justify the post-security prices. $ 2.50 for a second ginger ale? No thanks.

The food here is wonderful, we just finished eating, I had the steak hibachi dinner and my wife had the roasted duck, and they were tasty. It is worth mentioning that we each had a specific request, mine was that my food not be too sweet, and they honored that and my food was just right. My wife wanted little sauce, so they gave her all the sauce to the side which she loved(didn’t know it was possible). I’ve now come here 3 times this week and I’m loving it still, I brought my brother with me tonight and he was impressed too)))

Still the same great rolls as before. My taste in sushi has changed a bit after a few years & I go more for the Sushi Pieces instead of the rolls. Always fresh, the chefs are always helpful with suggestions & questions as well. You literally won’t find a better sushi place around the area than here AND it’s located easily right on & off the highway(CT-20).

This place is excellent. I have been going to this restaurant for 10 years, starting when they were at the original location closer to the river in Windsor Locks. The sushi is always fresh, and you can’t beat the price for quantity and quality. I highly recommend it… I pretty much refuse to eat sushi anywhere else these days :)

Edit: See end of review. I’ve been driving by this place for years. From the outside, it’s unappealing. The reflective windows make it look like a sketchy bar on the wrong side of town. I have a couple of different rolls, all were pretty good. The miso was as it should be, ginger seemed fresh and rice was cooked right. I’ll absolutely be coming back. This place isn’t on par with Meadow or other nicer places but it’s a solid choice. I wasn’t disappointed. Much better the Han in Granby. EDIT: So I’ve been coming here almost twice a week for the last several months. This place has earned my loyalty. If you’re looking for ultra high end sushi(which I do love) this place might not be for you. If you’re looking for great sushi, these guys have it. Same people work here everyday so they provide great service. The quality of fish is awesome.

Found this place off other Unilocal reviews and it did not disappoint — it looks like nothing from the outside — but some of the best and most creative sushi I have found!

I am local and here more frequently than my budget allows. Sushi is always fresh. Service is always spot on. This is the McDonald’s of sushi joints, consistency across the board they just need more locations! Highly recommend.

I came to this restaurant to enjoy a leisurely dinner with my husband before doing an airport pickup. The gyoza, spicy yellow tail roll, eel and salmon sashimi were delicious. The green tea was also great. The reason I’m not giving a five star review is because the server brought us the bill and didn’t ask if we wanted any coffee or dessert. I felt like we were being rushed out when there was an hour left to closing. Tip: don’t rush your customers out the door.

The hibachi doesn’t taste good at all and they do not give you enough meat. They don’t even have a lunch special for hibachi. It costs $ 16.00!!! Toyko Café in Newington has a lunch special of $ 8.00. The staff is also rude. Unfortunately it’s the only place in the area but I recommend finding another place to eat at.

Fun little restaurant in the middle of nowhere. I ended up here on one of my work trips. I love Sushi, they did not disappoint but I wont go and say that they amazed it. The food was Ok, but very well priced! Overheard a bunch of conversations of people talking about their lives. Got a sense of connecticut living. Very good as a pitstop for a road warriror.

This place has okay food but servers are very rude. I simply asked for a fork on the side along with my chopsticks(to help with the rice at the bottom of my dish). Next thing you know she takes away my chopsticks and gives me a fork. I ask her politely for my chopsticks back(I know how to use chopsticks) The lady then comes back with BEGINNER chopsticks and my boyfriend(Who happens to be Asian) gets up and grabs me regular chopsticks. She comes back LOOKSATHIM and asks«she can use» UHH yes ! I can use ! And proceeded to be rude for the rest of our meal.

This place deserves more stars then it has received. Though I am rating it for the sushi only. The sushi was very fresh and very good. I had the Deep in Pit roll, the rainbow roll, and tuna and squid sushi. All of it was outstanding. I come to Hartford often on business. I will return here. By the way; this was plenty of food — they do not skimp on their rolls. #stuffed

For the location the quality and the friendliness of this spot I am always happy to return for a meal whenever I am in this part of Connecticut. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and I have never be disappointed with the quality that they deliver with each plate or beverage. Being regulars — my family may come here quite often but this treatment is not reserved for us. The food is just deliciously fresh especially the sushi. The bar is also a great place to catch the game or hang out with friends.

$ 8.75 for lunch? What! You get a Cali roll, white rice and soup or salad. Sweet deal yo! My friends and I came here for lunch. We were craving sushi, but our minds were quickly changed when we saw the lunch specials. A bento plate with all of the above, yes please! It reminded me of the lunch trucks we had at work, back in Hawaii. I miss those! The cashier that rung us up was not very nice. She was a little condescending when she answered a question that my friend had. Not cool. She was nicer when she brought our food to us. Maybe she was just having a bad day. The food was alright, not amazing. I had the pork katsu lunch, it was really dry. The sauce that came with it totally helped with the dryness. My friend got the teriyaki chicken, which he also said was dry. Not sure if all these items were pre-cooked and the process of reheating it caused it to get dry. But it didn’t seem fresh. The rest of the meal was really great though. The Cali roll was yummy! Would I go again? Maybe for just sushi. But the price is something you can’t really beat. maybe it will be better second time around.

Sorry for all the ppls with high ratings with this place! The food wss pretty below average. The soups and sauces are run down with water. The sashimi have no fresh fish taste. Salmon color is not too fresh. A bit dark and not too much oil on it. Now the service is also below par. The waitresses are aggressive and kept asking us if we had finish our lunch. When I asked for refill of tea for everyone in our party. She just too my cup. So asked her to refill for the whole party of four. She kinda gave a wierd look and laughed. We’ll if this is in NY. They will be closed already. Thus this will be the first-time and last for this x hole!
