Wish we could give 0 stars. Awful customer service. At least he person below Lizzy got someone, we showed up 2 days as that was what our reservation was for. We showed up at 8:30pm(well aware we could be paying the $ 100 late check in fee. We were arriving from NY so unfortunately driving 4 hours doesn’t always go as planned. No answer when we arrived, we saw the vehicle also but was ignored. We also never received an email with a code and no OTHER guests were staying there. The place looked abandoned. It was late and we were exhausted so after hour of phone calls and ringing the bell we decided to stay elsewhere but return in the morning. We arrived back the next day in between the allotted 4−8pm checking at least figured we could salvage our second day. But guess WHAT, nope our reservation was cancelled and still no one was at the hotel. This place only accommodates when it is convenient for them and since they had no other reservations they cancelled ours and kept our money. Whats even funnier is on there website it clearly states and i quote, «Arriving after 8pm without completing a self check-in will result in a late arrival fee of $ 100.00. After 10pm, your reservation will be considered a «no show». So we were there at 8:30, well within the time according to them. But guess what, it gets better. They contacted booking and said we were a no show and then the next day changed the website to 8PM no show. Lucky I screen shot the website that night which clearly shows that. The owner is also in Texas and not even by the location. We are actively fighting to get our money back and lucky our credit card company and are being so helpful. This place shouldn’t call themselves a bed and breakfast, more like an absentee landlord.

We loved it! It is a unique place very unlike any other B&B we ever heard of. It may not be for everyone however, so check their website and pictures to review it before deciding. The gardens are very pretty, the grounds are immaculate, the rooms are very clean and functional. The breakfast was more than adequate and tasty. The innkeeper and one of the owners(the other one was away on business) were extremely hospitable, explaining to us what was available in the area, etc. We look forward to returning here! Strong suggestion not related directly to the inn — gas up as you get off the Interstate as gas stations are far and few between plus close up early(best guess 5 or 6PM), check restaurants as many are closed Sundays and Mondays whereas others are closed Mondays and Tuesdays(probably not an issue in ski season).

We called and left two messages and sent an email over a two week period(yes I checked my spam folder incase their reply ended up there). No one ever got back to us. It was too bad, this place would have been perfect for our fall mini honeymoon.

This place is unique. The architecture is amazing, and you’re surrounded by a beautiful view of the mountains. I loved waking up to the natural sunlight shining in through the gorgeous windows! My only warning to guests is that if you’re looking for a romantic, cozy B&B, I don’t think this is it. It’s slightly minimalist, lacking things like extra throw blankets or comfy seating that wouldve been nice, especially given that it got chilly at night in May. The breakfast is good but basic: cereal, bagels, and muffins. I went here with my boyfriend and he LOVED it, but he said if he returned again he’d probably go with a group of friends instead — we didn’t think it was the most romantic, couple-y place. I felt like I was camping. Also, you really are in the middle of nowhere — we had to drive 20+ miles for dinner each night. We didn’t mind because we were looking for a quiet break from Boston so this was perfect for that. There’s also no cell phone reception, which again we liked, so we just read books outside all day and it was lovely. Bottom line: if you want to be in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by mountains, in an architecturally unique spot, this is your place! If you want a cozy, comfy, romantic getaway with hot breakfast, look elsewhere.

Probably the most scenic getaway location i have ever been to. Very Architecturally original like everything you can read on there website. The rooms look smaller in the pictures but they are really nice and perfect for a romantic weekend. The jaccuzzi size shape is a little odd but will fit two. The shower is actually warm when you first turn it on contrary to standard showers. Even in the winter the view is really nice, and this is a very scenic area. This location is 15 minutes from a grocery store and about 12 minutes from a resteraunt. Close to a lot of ski mountains it seemed like everyone that was here was going to the ski mountain. The staff is very friendly but didn’t clean up for us from day to day like a standard hotel/motel. Still we only stayed 2-days so that really wasn’t a big deal. We would like to come back in the summer when we can see the gardens and hike around the area. Price was very good for a Valentines Day weekend.

Just got back from a lovely weekend in Vermont at A Stone Wall Inn. Stayed in corner house which is separate from the main house. Our room was cozy and the building was very unique and funky. Our room shared a bathroom with another room — but it was secluded from the rest of the house so I never felt«exposed» when moving between the bathroom & room after a shower. Morning breakfast was delicious — homemade bake goods & locally produced yogurt. All in all a beautiful & comfortable stay. Had a great time exploring the surrounding area — we recommend a hike up Bald Mountain in Thompson State Park, dinner at Solo Farm & Table and exploring Grafton Village. Side note: the pillows on our bed were super high — if you prefer a lower pillow I’d suggest brining your own.

We visited last weekend for a getaway celebration, and we are so glad we chose this spot. Sean, the Innkeeper, is very hospitable and happy to discuss the interesting history of this property and all it had to offer. It’s remote enough to escape city life but close enough to enjoy an evening out for dinner, a day of antiquing, or to sample cheeses in a nearby village. We highly recommend A Stone Wall Inn and are eager to return.

My husband and I went to Stone Wall Inn to spend a couple days away and celebrate our 1st anniversary. I had found it through an e-mail I got from Boston Deals(through ) and I thought it look very interesting and cool and different from most bed and breakfasts. We spent two nights there in mid-September. Stone Wall Inn was very beautiful and unique. We stayed in the Cloud room because I wanted a room with the Jacuzzi tub. The room was very nice and had a private deck that overlooked the pool and garden area. The Jacuzzi tub was great and the bed was comfy. Sean, who runs the inn, was very friendly and helpful. The only area that I see Stone Wall Inn lacking was the continental breakfast. It was just cereal and yogurt and one fresh made item, although the banana peanut butter muffins they made the first day were really good. The second day we decided to go out to a restaurant for breakfast, and there are plenty of little places in the area. The towns around Stone Wall Inn are great to visit and have a lot of cute little shops and what not. I would definitely recommend Stone Wall Inn if you are looking for a bed and breakfast that is unique and beautiful.

If you’re looking for a scenic getaway with all the comforts of home(and then some), this is the place. Nestled in the middle-of-nowhere, VT, there’s great access to outdoor activities. The Green Mountain National Forest is nearby, as are a number of ski areas for both X-C and downhill, and great hiking in the non-snow months. Dog friendly, too!

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend. This place was AMAZING! The long house and corner house had really cool designs and the gardens were gorgeous! We stayed in the Crow’s Nest which was small but perfect for the two of us. The common areas were very nice and Sean did an amazing job with breakfast as well. It would be fun to get a bunch of friends to try and rent all the rooms in the house. Our only complaints are the walls were thin so you could hear everything in the common room and mumbling in other rooms. The bed was also too hard which resulted in us tossing and turning through the night. Regardless of our complaints, we highly recommend this place and plan on going again!

Loved loved loved loved loved my stay at Stone Wall Inn! The surrounding area on the drive up from Boston was gorgeous, and it only got better when we entered the property. The house is an amazing MC Escher fairy tale building with porches, massive windows, jacuzzi tubs, and totally imaginative one-of-a-kind architecture. It only gets better when you enter the fairy tale gardens outside, complete with butterflies and perfect night sky views. The innkeeper /host, Sean, was friendly, fun, and made a killer breakfast. Don’t miss out on this place!
