Tried the Tzatski Lamb Burger and it was amazing! I would totally recommend that item

Always just been here for drinks. This time I had appetizers, had the wings and the steak flatbread. Our server, Seth was very attentive. Didn’t give it 5 stars because they closed at midnight on a Friday night which cut our date short. Other than that everything was excellent, the vibe, music etc

What a pleasant surprise! My gf and I came here with a group of friends recently on a Saturday night and were seated immediately thanks to our reservations. We were initially seated in a dark corner next to an extremely loud(bachelorette?) party which would’ve been a bummer since we came specifically to see their live music. Well thankfully they were able to go out of their way to find us a better location. Our meal started off with a few orders of their chips which was accompanied by two sauces that seemed pretty similar to me. The sauces ended up not mattering since the chips were tasty enough on their own. I followed the chips up with their Pan Seared Parisian Chicken w/Sweet Onion & Bacon Risotto while my gf ordered their Pesto Bucatini w/chicken. Yes, my dish was as delicious as it sounds! My chicken was covered with some sort of almond-dijon crust and the risotto was just perfect; I had zero complaints with this dish. Not to be outdone, the pesto bucatini was great as well. Not only was it highly tasty, but the portion at about $ 12 was spectacular; I highly appreciate value and that dish definitely delivered. The service was solid, the music was good and the food was very good; I’ll definitely be returning to try a few of the various sandwiches that sounded very tempting.

Good food, but not something to wait more than 15mins for. The Sunday brunch menu has about 7 – 10 different options and today I went with the omelet. Delicious yes, but not the best omelet I have ever had. A couple of my friends ordered the chicken and waffles and we’re pleased but not super impressed. If you come at an odd time you should be fine, but peak lunch and dinner times… you should just go and find another restaurant.

I really enjoy the food at this restaurant, the quality is consistent and the service is great. They have excellent specials and part of the dinner menu changes(seasonally I believe). I can walk to this restaurant so part of the attraction is the location, but that’s not what keeps me coming back. The one downside for me is the background music, which is sometimes too loud and often times targeted at an older audience. My husband and I both agree the music is not the right fit for such a great place.

We met up with some extended family at Dexters tonight(Tuesday) since my Nephew had a baseball game in the area. The parking situation was good since it’s located in a shopping village So there’s ample parking. The restaurant was crowded as it was $ 1 burger night from 5−7pm. It was also happy hour from 4 – 7 so you get a double whammy! The place is actually very nice inside and the ambiance is on the higher end of casual. There is some sidewalk seating as well for those who want the outside air. We had a table of 3 adults and 5 kids so it was burgers galore for the kids. The size of the burgers is actually more than what I expected. It reminded me of a Five Guys burger(both in size and taste… but a fraction of the price!) All beers were anywhere from $ 2.50 to $ 3.75 which was good too. Wines were also discounted too. My wife had the grilled skillet salad with chicken and I had the Southwest chicken salad as well. It was honestly the most amount of chicken I have ever seen on a salad. We’re talking a good 10oz at least… but moist and tasty too! It was my nephews bday so they gave him a free dessert which we chose the Peanut Butter pie with Oreo crust and it was Delish!!! We will definitely be back again!

The food is great! This is a favorite and I send everyone here! The new hostess, Michelle, short brunette, is a real snot nose and shouldn’t be the first person you see when you walk through the door with her attitude and almost ruined our NYE dinner… however, we were saved. Zack was a sweetheart and a very attentive server. Dexter’s, figure out the hostess stand, they hold the first impression of your business.

We found this on the way home in a quaint shopping plaza. Waitress Sabrina was very friendly and knowledgeable of the drinks wine and menu. We ordered the Black and Bleu Flatbread as an appetizer. It was delicious and unusual. There was a salad garnish underneath which gave it great flavor. For dinner we had the Chefs special Pecan crusted Grouper with Risotto and the Scallops and Shrimp. Both were full of flavor and served hot! Big portion of Risotto on both plates.(A bit to much for my taste). All in all a great experience and worth returning for.

Dexter’s is great if you go for ambiance. it was clean… outside seating… can bring your dog… inside low lighting. kind of romantic. However, I go to a restaurant for food and the buck burgers did not do it for me… sorry to depart from many of my fellow Unilocalers on this one… I asked if the burgers were fresh… the waitress said yes, I would venture they are not as they never asked how you would like them cooked… and all 4 for our table were well done… they did not taste fresh and honestly didn’t even taste beefy to me… bland. no seasoning… I would prefer McDonald’s 69Cent burger or Wendy’s 99Cent burger or BK’s whopper jr anytime versus what starts as a buck and climbs with each topping. Sorry but Dexter’s is a flop for me… maybe I may go and try something else another time but I won’t be going out of my way to get there that is for sure! The service was pleasant by the way and I would have had to wait 20 mins for a seat but we elected to sit by the bar. I tell you if I waited 20 mins and then got that bad burger? So the stars are for cleanliness, ambiance and service. for the burger? I would go in the negative range! Good luck!

Awesome deli sandwiches. Mine was a toasted croissant with turkey and lettuce. My husband had a rare roast beef with swiss on french bread with all the works. Stella on tap and diet coke for me. Staff was very friendly and handled a large crowd with ease. Check out was quick.

I’ve been here twice for brunch and once for lunch. The food is consistently good and service is always friendly and efficient. The best things I’ve had were off their brunch menu: the mimosas(which are cheap and delicious — love the raspberry and mango), the mahi mahi with jack cheese grits, croque madame, and the lamb burger.

I came here on a Saturday night and loved it. They had a great band playing live music and the bartenders were super friendly and attentive. The Dirty Dexter is a delicious dirty martini served with Ketel One. I’ve been frequenting Dexters for over 15 years going back to the Winter Park and downtown locations and I’m so glad they’ve expanded to other locations. From the regular menu the Dexters Special is always a favorite and the specials are always superb. Try out the sweet chips as a side and you won’t be disappointed!

Does not live up to the Dexter’s brand for me in any way. Many years ago, I lived downtown and frequented the original Dexter’s a lot. The place was a great social hub for food, sports and friends. The food was good and beer selection was awesome. The venue always had a great vibe to it. Fast forward to the Windermere Dexter’s many years later and you’ll find a standard American style restaurant, in nice shopping center. The layout of the restaurant itself is a little odd, making every table(especially in the back) feel a little out of place an uninviting. The bar looks like the most enjoyable spot although I’ve never sat or eaten there. Then there is the food. I’ve had two main dishes there. One was a salmon dish and the other was scallops. Both dishes were just off in some way. The salmon was so loaded with pickled onions(which I love onions for the record!) I had to fish around to not get too many. The scallops were crusted in something that had no flavor and just didn’t taste right. In both cases the portions were way to big even for someone like me who can eat a lot, but I had no desire to finish either because they just weren’t good. The only thing on the menu that reminded me it was Dexter’s was the Cha-Cha chips. Bottom line, if your’e a real Dexter’s fan stick with the original Downtown.

Dollar Burgers! Sold! I am pretty much a burger girl on any given day of the week. On Tuesday evenings at this lovely location from 5pm to Close, you have the opportunity to divulge in burgers for $ 1.00. The toppings to include on the burger are additional. So regular toppings are .50 cents, and what is considered premium toppings is .75 cents. I decided to top my burger with Jack Pepper Cheese and Sauteed Onions, which were considered regular toppings. For my premium topping I ordered Avocado. The total price for my Burger…$ 2.75. The deliciousness factor of my burger… made to Burger Perfection. When I walked in to Dexter’s in the Windermere location I was pretty impressed with the ambiance it was very spacious and nicely decorated. The place was pretty packed, but surprisingly so I was seated right away. The option of outdoor seating is available. Yes a major plus is that there is plenty of parking. The staff was friendly and I did not have to wait long for my food. Oh and how could I forget to mention the delicious egg rolls that I ordered as an appetizer. I also know that Dexter’s has a reputation of their Brunch, so I will be back… and come to find out Unlimited Mimosa’s are 12.95 on Saturdays and Sundays for Brunch from 10am to 3pm. I am looking forward to trying the variety of options they have on their menu. Overall, my experience was a pleasant and positive and a place that feeds my craving for burgers! Winning!

Never again. After going at least three additional times to my first review, the service became worse and worse. So much so that when we went a couple of weeks ago, we had NO service. We were sat by the manager and after five+ minutes we hadn’t seen our waiter. So I went back up to the host stand where the manager was and told him. He came by took our drink and food orders and we received our drinks. He mentioned that he let our waiter know about our orders and was off. We never got refills on our drinks. I took our drinks up to the bar for refills and let them know that I had no idea who our server was. Our food was brought out and it was wrong. The manager took it back and supposedly remade it himself. After we got our food, nothing. I, once again, had to track down the manager for our bill. And he promptly brought that, along with a ‘free mimosa’ coupon and a ‘free appetizer’ for next time(as long as the appetizer didn’t have lobster in it — yep.) Well, there will not be a next time. That is completely unacceptable service. The food is okay, which is the ONLY reason for two stars. So completely disappointed in a place we thought we’d frequent.

So my friends and I went here for a late Sunday brunch this week. This was my first trip to this location, but I have also been to the Dexter’s in Thornton Park. People love this place and I have so many friends who have raved about it. Maybe I just order badly? So, let’s start with the location. I like this location over the Thornton Park location. This one is newer, cleaner, and roomier. Perhaps it was because we came so late, but we were seated right away and there was plenty of space. The other location was very crowded and we had to wait out in the hot sun. One of the reasons I think Dexter’s is so popular for weekend brunch is the Mimosas and I must tell you this is my favorite thing about Dexter’s. They have a variety of flavors including orange, pineapple, cranberry, and mango for only $ 2.95. You can get a double for $ 3.95. It’s a great deal. The reason I am giving Dexter’s 3 stars is because the two times I have been I was less than impressed with the food. That being said I have only ordered off the brunch menu, so I definitely haven’t written the place off yet. The first time I came I had a frittata which was beyond bland. This time I ordered the make your own omelet. I ordered it with smoked ham, Colby, and Andouille sausage. It was good, but not exceptional. The best thing on my plate was the potatoes. They called them potato pancakes. I call them hashbrowns. You know how they have the hashbrowns at places like Hardee’s that are the size of quarters. Then McDonald’s has massive hashbrowns. These were cool. They were chicken nugget size hashbrowns and they were delicious! Overall, I like Dexter’s and I won’t say no if someone wants to go, but it has yet to completely win my heart.

A– for location and ambience. I sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the sunset and nice evening weather. Live music was happening inside but we were able to hear it outside at a low, yet audible level. It was some lady singing various popular songs. The minus is because it took me a little while to find Dexter’s among all the shops, and such, in the Grove plaza. C+ for the most important part, the food. I felt the menu to be more lunch than dinner. It was mostly sandwiches, flat breads, salads, and small plates. The food was decent but nothing spectacular. I would go back again; during happy hour for drinks as the two martinis I tried were good(blueberry basil and marilyn), or for lunch.

This is the nicest interior of any Dexter’s location, bright and cheery. The dining room and bar are one area, which works well for the dining room, but makes the bar someplace that isn’t very cozy to hang out in. Dexter’s menu has a great assortment of salads, sandwiches, and small plates. I’m particularly fond of the Rustic Cast Iron Skillet Salad, a delicious blend of oven dried tomatoes, grilled asparagus, artichoke hearts, rosemary roasted potatoes, feta cheese chunks and mixed greens. Ask for the lemon dill dijon dressing on the side, as it doesn’t take much. The rosemary potatoes on this dish are particularly delicious. Service is friendly and quick; it’s easy to get in and out for lunch in under an hour.
