Being a Floridian with annual passes to nearly every theme park in the area, it takes a lot to impress me from a culinary point of view. This place did just that. Look out, Disney. The atmosphere is great, fantastic stone work and lighting, super friendly host staff, and an menu that offers something for everyone. I enjoyed the the Pad Thai with shrimp and chicken. A huge portion, served piping hot temperature wise, with perfectly cooked shrimp. Only downside was lack of spice(I get it, it’s a theme park) and slightly overcooked chicken. My companion had the bleu cheese crusted pork chop with cranberry jam and mashed potatoes-super yummy as well although the pork(for me) was a bit over done. Will definitely return. It’s nice to have a sit down table service meal that doesn’t require a reservation 6 months in advance and cost a fortune. Can ya hear me, DISNEY?

This place was absolutely amazing! I read some reviews about this place not living up to the hype, but I, personally, really enjoyed this place. The bread is delicious and even comes with butter that has the Universal Studios logo on it. I ordered the Greek salad and it was just as good as it looked. The place is just gorgeous with Ancient Greek architecture and I fountain in the middle. Would definitely eat here again. My only complaint was that it was extremely freezing in there, but I guess that’s perfect if you are extremely hot.

I had low expectations going to Mythos but I was pleasantly surprised by the visit and would even return. It’s a great way to relax and escape the heat for a bit. I’d heard that the rating of «best theme park restaurant» was more for the décor than the food. It was nice inside, and did feel like being inside a grotto, but I didn’t think the overall theming was that great, compared to other theme park restaurants like Be Our Guest or even the Leaky Cauldron. The outside is much more impressive than the interior. I did like the view from our table where we could see out over the lagoon. It will be an even better view once the Hulk is running again. The complimentary bread service was very good. I liked the bread so much that we even took the leftovers with us in case we wanted a snack later. The appetizer section of the menu is Mediterranean influenced, while the rest of the menu seemed like more standard fare. I’m not a huge fan of Mediterranean flavors but we had to get the Mediterranean Meatballs, simply because it comes with a falafel waffle, which is super fun to say out loud. I thought the dish was very well done and the falafel waffle did taste just like falafel but in a waffle shape. For an entrée we split the Pressed Porchetta Panini. It was good, but would have been better if the ingredients were more evenly distributed throughout the sandwich. My half didn’t have much meat and was too heavy on the mustard. Although we were fairly full, we couldn’t pass up the Warm Chocolate Banana Gooey Cake. It tasted as good as it sounds, and I polished off every last bit that I could without actually licking the plate. Service was just okay. Our waitress disappeared at times and overall I felt like the pacing of the meal was off. With the passholder discount, it was a reasonably priced meal for a theme park.

I was really pleasantly surprised by Mythos during my recent trip into Universal Studios. Not only was the food good, but the prices were great, as far as park offerings go. I had the blue cheese crusted pork, with mashed potatoes and an apple slaw. The pork itself was a bit overcooked, but the blue cheese coating made up for that in spades! You definitely need to like blue cheese to appreciate this dish, but if blue cheese is your thing, then I’d highly recommend it! The mashed potatoes were super bland, but the apple slaw had just the right amount of sweetness to make a great lunch side. While the food exceeded expectations, the service fell flat. Once we were seated, we waited 15 minutes for water. Our server didn’t bring us silverware until after the food came(45 minutes after ordering), and we didn’t see her again until she brought us the check, despite both of our waters being empty. Overall, Mythos is a good food option if you want to take some time to sit in the air conditioning and are looking for something beyond the hot dogs and hamburgers that you’ll find in most of the park.

Flawless. Mythos has a good reputation and good ratings and for a reason, they’re good, especially for a theme park. The level of service I received there is above and beyond anything I’ve experienced in a theme park, getting into the realm of serious fine dining, the food has never disappointed. On my recent visit, which was my second(I will go there every time I go to the park since it is too good to miss, but have only been there twice), and the first trip was stellar as well, I got the smoked tomato soup, which was amazing. A tempura california roll, which was amazing, and a spinach salad, which was amazing. Every food item was flawless. This restaurant is really good, if you visit Islands of Adventure, and you’re the type of person reading reviews on Unilocal(ie, you’re into good food) you can’t pass it up. What is more, it is very reasonably priced. Honestly, it isn’t that much more than other resort area or park restaurants, equivalent to or less than others even. This was easily the best restaurant we ate at on our Florida family vacation, but it wasn’t close to the most expensive check. They could likely charge far more. Update: Now been 3 times I think, still awesome. Make a reservation! They still don’t charge near what they could, but the wait can be rough if you try to just walk up, that reservation is important.

This place is garbage, and I don’t recommend wasting your time. The food is «Greek,» but don’t expect Greek food. We ordered a flatbread that tasted like nachos, spanakopita that was wanton wrappers stuffed with some spinach(maybe) and a tzatziki sauce that was yogurt with lack of cucumber and/or seasoning, and a hummus platter where the baba ganoush the didn’t have any eggplant, and could be considered excellent… If purchased in a grocery store in Kansas where a trucker made it on the turnpike. The bread that came out for the table appeared to be bread that wasn’t quite cooked all the way, while the butter tasted a bit like a hotel bar of soap. On a positive note, my beer was cold as opposed to warm, which you would expect if you were to have the misfortune of eating dinner here. As for the entrees, I decided the pass on the the Pad Thai to prevent an inevitable evening of diarrhea and regret. There were plenty of other«Greek classics» to choose from so I went with the gnocchi and my wife rocked out the pork. The pork was cooked to death and served with potatoes straight from a box. My gnocchi was served in a puddle of yellow«brown butter,» and the gnocchi itself was mush. I wouldn’t serve the chicken to my cat. We sent a salad back for tasting like raw sewage, while the lamb burger and salmon were palatable to my fellow diners. Over all this was a terrible experience. The chef that works here should be embarrassed that this food was sent out of his kitchen. Whatever the positive reviewers had to say about this place makes me question their ability to judge food. I’ve worked in the service industry for 15 years and eaten at countless places, and I leave you with this advice… DONOTEATHERE. Seriously, don’t do it… I would rather be hungry than eat here again. And the chairs are uncomfortable… Can’t even rest your ass in an ass establishment!

The beef medallions were impressive and my wife’s risotto tasty. But the screechiness sounds from their 2 ton cast iron chairs when pushed around will drive you insane. And ruin your Mythos experience. Best rated theme park dining 6th year in a row? I don’t think so.

The food here is above average for a theme park. Supposed to be the best sit down restaurant in the whole park. The ambiance is really unique — it feels like a subterranean cave and is a cool experience in and of itself. Expect a wait when you come — we walked in as a party of two after the main lunch rush(arrived around 1:30−2pm on the Friday before spring break) and thankfully were seated within 10 min. The complimentary bread is pretty tasty — crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. Beef medallions — 4 stars. Had to add a little salt to the beef to get it flavored enough but better than if they had over salted it. Brown butter gnocchi with chicken — 4 stars. I wish the gnocchi had been just a little lighter/more airy, they were a little bit dense, but overall I enjoyed this dish. If you are there on a busy day, ask about outdoor seating — it may be a little noisy due to the tides going on across the lagoon but it might get you seated more quickly.

Decent full service dining option in Universal(islands of adventure side). We ended up eating here twice since pickings are pretty slim for full service. This place is huge! Open until 2 hours before park closing. Service was variable from one day to the next. Food came at a reasonable time and there is complimentary bread service to start. Over the visits, we had their meatball starter(would get this again… Decent meatballs served over their falafel waffle), pizza(pass on this), lamb burger(decent), falafel burger(decent — quite tasty variation if you don’t want meat) and the blackened fish tacos(ok). Prices are reasonable(comparable to the cafeteria style at Harry Potter). Would one back again.

I’ve been to Islands of Adventure too many times to count; at one point I worked there, but I never took the time to eat here until now. I can’t believe it took me so long to get here and enjoy this delicious food! Of course I was on a diet so I ended up skipping their signature cocktails and bread but I was told by my friends they were both delicious. Instead I opted for the largest bottle of sparkling water I’ve ever seen in my life! For lunch I had the beef medallions. It was absolutely delicious! Three tender cubes of beef topped with truffle butter and chimichurri for a little extra flavor. This was complimented with cheddar cheese potato gratin and braised red cabbage which was really good! I loved every bite! The restaurant is really pretty! Water pools and sculptures decorate the inside along with a wall of windows that over look the lagoon. There is also seating outside. Our server was really friendly and provided great service! I cannot wait to go back and try everything else I missed including the bread!

I finally ate her for the first time after almost 8 years of wanting to eat here and I can’t wait to go again. The first thing you need to keep in mind is that the menu is always changing for the season. I got their Beef Medallions with shredded potato gratin, braised red cabbage, fresh watercress and«chimichurri» and it was delicious! The beef was cooked to perfection and the chimichurri was fresh and flavorful. I was happy with my order until I tried some of my fiancé’s Brown Butter Gnocchi(sautéed gnocchi, grilled chicken, and roasted sweet potato tossed in a safe and walnut brown butter sauce) which was absolutely one of my favorite meals of all time and I have had a craving for it the past week! Service was great, and the server was friendly, funny and efficient. Between the food and service, I will be returning again!

I had dinner here the first night I was in Universal because I read that it had been voted the best theme park restaurant. To start with, the outside is undoubtedly the most elaborately designed restaurant I’ve seen. Set in the Greek mythology part of the park, the outside has been crafted to look like rock and huge larger than life carvings are on both the front and back. The inside is very fun with the continued rock theme and the back has a gorgeous view of the lake. My wait time at peak dinner hour on a weekday was about 15 mins and they seated me outside upon request so that I could enjoy the peaceful view. Even though I was the only one out on the patio and it would be easy to forget me, my server was incredibly attentive. My order was taken right away and my server was completely confident on what gluten free items I could have on the menu. The menu is labeled with GF so that you can easily navigate it. I had a Caesar salad, salmon and a flourless chocolate cake with caramel and bananas. The salad was pretty good with fresh greens. The salmon was really good, just the sauce was a bit salty for me. The dessert was fantastic and definitely my favorite part of the meal. Portions were good and I left quite full. I thought the price was actually pretty reasonable for a theme park restaurant and the food and service was quite good. Not to mention, the view and atmosphere are unrivaled in the park.

Mythos Restaurant is located inside Universal Islands of Adventure. It has been rated the top theme park restaurant in the WORLD, six years in a row. I can see why! I ordered tomato soup and Lamb burger with Parmesan fries. Exquisite! The soup was smooth and had the citrus tang to be expected with tomato. The burger was cooked medium well, good flavor, and a fresh soft bun. Fries were yum! The ambience is beautiful. It has all the makings of an upscale restaurant, without the price tag. My burger and soup came out to about $ 20.50 without tax, and after taking a quick look at the menu, it looks like entrees average between $ 10-$ 30. I will definitely come back – especially since I’d like to experience this place at night!

The banner outside said it was rated the #1 theme park restaurant in the WORLD for the past 5 – 6 years. After eating here, we concluded that this was definitely not true at all. I’m not saying the food was bad, but it was just okay. It was definitely a little better than all the crappy theme park food we had during our trip. We got the Tuscan soup to share. It was my first time having it and it was probably my favorite thing here. It kinda tasted like marinara sauce and is great mixed with the bread they provide you. I ordered the risotto of the day which was beef & beets. The beets gave the rice a sorta reddish color… kinda unappetizing since it made it look like throw up. It was good at first, but something about it just couldn’t get me to keep eating it. He ordered the pad thai, which did not taste like pad thai whatsoever. But I mean what do you expect, it’s a theme park restaurant that claimed to be American food. Maybe we should’ve ordered something else on the menu? Maybe if the risotto had a different type of meat/seafood on it, it would’ve tasted better? I definitely wouldn’t call this the #1 theme park restaurant in the WORLD in terms of food. The service, however, was exceptional. Our server had such a cute Harry Potter earring which was of Harry’s glasses and his scar right on top! He gave us all his recommendations and always checked up on us! Thank you! The interior of the restaurant was really nice. Felt like you were in a Greek god’s underwater cave. The overall experience was okay, in terms of food. Eating here saved us from the pouring rain…

Great food for an amusement park. Definitely get reservations if you don’t want to wait. I saw a long line even during off hours(2−3pm). They give complimentary bread, so we decided not to get an appetizer. The bread was a large portion, warm and a perfect starter. We both got the seasonal risotto which happened to be red wine risotto with braised beef. Risotto was cooked perfectly and the beef was tender. Restaurant was beautiful and the service was good.

My family always eats here when we go to Islands of Adventure. It is my favorite. It is so nice to sit down in a beautiful restaurant, out of the heat and eat delicious food. Mythos has the worlds best theming. It is epic, like the inside of a cave. There are waterfalls in the background and windows overlooking the lake. Lets talk about the food! When we went two years, I always ordered the steak medallions which was out of this world. Served with creamy potatoes and asparagus, it was delicious. But they recently recreated their menu and I was a tad disappointed. I ended up getting the goat cheese encrusted pork this time and it was okay. The bread and butter served before the meal was my favorite, it is always hot and fresh. I love their sweet teas there and always make sure to get a to go cup before I leave to drink while I walk around the park. If you visit one time, you are going to be sold! It is simply beautiful.

I gave it an extra star because the atmosphere is amazing and as far as universal restaurants go, it’s good. But if this wasn’t inside of a theme park, I wouldn’t eat here. I was so excited to go because of reviews we made reservations ahead of time the last time we went there was a long wait. Everyone says best theme park restaurant, it’s good for universal but there are better restaurants at Disney. Wait staff is nice, service was quick(had read bad reviews about that). The food: I ordered the pad Thai and it wasn’t really that great. Sauce tastes like it was filled with ketchup. Like I’ve been saying better than most theme park food, but I’ve had better pad Thai. Overall, if you were at universal and wanted a sit down restaurant, I’d still recommend Mythos. But I wouldn’t say it’s «the best theme park restaurant» as ratings mention.

I’ll admit, we only came in to eat here because my weather app said it was going to rain soon and Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville was way too far to walk so we didn’t want to risk getting caught in the rain. We didn’t have a reservation, so we ended up waiting about 45min for our table. My weather app ended up being accurate and it did start raining so we didn’t mind. My advice for next time is to call ahead and make reservations! The outside of this restaurant is WOW! See my photos. 5 stars for this. The inside of this restaurant is WOW! See my photos. 5 stars for this. The bathrooms are nice, clean and fairly well ventilated. The waiting area is fairly small though, so make reservations! 4 stars for this. Having Greek members in my family but ironically rarely getting to eat authentic Greek salads, I was excited to see that they had Greek salad on their menu. It was CRAZYBUSY so service was taking longer than usual, which was okay. There’s enough cool stuff in the restaurant to keep you occupied in the meantime. Our server was very friendly and cool as well. However, he was a bit forgetful but seeing how busy it was, I’ll let it fly. 3.5 stars for his service. When our food finally arrived, I was sooooo… DISAPPOINTED! :(The Mythos Greek salad was made from shredded lettuce, the same stuff that cheap hamburger places use! In fact, it looked like the same shredded lettuce they use in their own hamburgers! Plus, for the price, the portion was small! If you want to see what a fairly great Greek salad is like, then head on over to Wolfgang Puck’s casual sit-down place in Disney Springs. I sent my salad back and ordered the daily special instead, which was a lamb burger. It was alright. My GF ordered a gluten-free burger and her gluten-free bun was actually very good! I don’t know what vendor they use for their gluten-free hamburger buns but they are really good buns! Try them if you are gluten-free. We ordered their signature drink to get the souvenir glass. The drink was good, fruity and sweet. Not that I like sweet drinks, I actually don’t but this one was decent. The glass base is actually more fragile than it looks and ours broke before being able to take it home, so I guess we’ll be coming back. Overall, I give them a rating of 3.5 stars because the most important things to me about eating out are:(1) food,(2) service,(3) price, &(4) ambiance. Taking all that into consideration, this place is a solid 3.5 stars but they’re closer to 3 stars than 4, so they’re getting 3.
